@@sarayrios-herrera3264 I use size 4 worsted weight acrylic yarn. I also would recommend using a hook smaller than 3.75. I would highly suggest using size 4 yarn, but you can use any size yarn you just have to make sure you use a hook size which makes tight stitches that stuffing wont show through.
In the pattern it says that I should do more stitches than I can because the stitch marker it there. Is the pattern exactly how you should make it or did you add more stitches in ten pattern than needed?
The pattern should be exactly how many stitches appear in each row. If you are hitting your stitch marker too early, you can try adding a couple of increases to future rows equal to hw early you are hitting your marker. If you are 1-3 stitches off it shouldnt be a huge deal.
underrated. literally spent 7 hours of my life making this ball but i fuckin love it, i don’t have glue doe but sewing it on works perfectly as well :) ( first thing i’ve crocheted and i was extremely sleep deprived lol that’s why i took so long, time honestly just flew by )
Thank you so much for taking the time and effort to make this video. Really easy to follow and having the written pattern in the description was a massive win for me. I'll definitely be making a fair few of these. Thanks again legend 🤗
Thanks it worked...even with those crazy wonky increase and decrease rows!!! Quick gift for the 8 yo grandson tomorrow! Looking forward to seeing your other videos! Well done you!
23:55 is when i realized that i did not have black yarn anyway, i tried a lot of pokeball tutorials and this was the only one i followed and got right!! thank u
Thank you for the tutorial. Only thing I'd change is slip stitching at the end of the rounds and slightly changing where your color change is. This gets rid of the bump where the black doesn't quite match up. I am aware that it is easily covered by the button, but my OCD knows it's there haha. Great tutorial. Gives me lots of ideas to do the other balls
Awesome tutorial! I followed your pattern yesterday (though scaled it down a little due to the weight of my yarn), so excited to chuck it at my pokemon go fanatic friends. Thanks a bunch!
Aw thank you for your kind words it made my day! I don't really make crochet videos anymore, but I do make videos about stationery now on another channel haha.
Thanks so much for the pattern and video, just finished a pokeball and gunna try my hand at a master ball now 😁🖤 gunna be great as hand made Christmas gifts 🎁
Just letting you know amazing person who taught me how to crochet @46:32 you say do an increase but you did a decrease don't know if anyone else picked it up but having OCD I'm hard on myself with making sure it's done perfectly 😂
Does anyone know why the rows are so "inconsistent"? Like, it's not your normal 5 SC, inc -> 6 SC, inc-> ... Just wanted to know if it's supposed to make it look different or something
I used math to make the sphere shape and rounded the measurements to the nearest stitch. It's what I use to make most of my shapes, but it makes the rows kinda crazy. That's what make it a "perfect" sphere.
the suggested hook size is usually if you were making clothes or something super flowy. Amigumuri requires a much tighter stitch than what the yarn ball suggests. Usually if a ball of yarn suggests 5-6mm i use 3-4mm. The yarn that works best for this is size 4 also known as medium, Worsted, aran. As long as you cant see through your stitches any yarn can work too. It will just make it bigger or smaller.
An increase is just doing 2 single crochets into the same stich. So 2 single crochets would go into 2 of the V loops from the previous rows. An increase will be 2 single crochets that go into 1 of the V loops from the previous row.
I may be off by just a few stitches. I'm at about 18:50min into video. Will it matter much? Should I add a few and move on? I hesitate to move forward. Thanks for the tutorial!
@@MsNaeners if this is your first row you noticed an error it is usually best to just pull that row out and start it over. 1 or 2 off shouldnt matter and i just fix it by skipping a decrease eventually.
Thank you Finnegan crochet , it is my 9th row...I went ahead and pushed forward and I think it's okay. I finished the red. May I ask, do you count up to the stitch marker or all of the stitches? And should my last stitch of the row go into the marker, or is it usually one or a couple before reaching it? Thanks a bunch! I'm excited to continue!
My stitch marker is the last stitch in a row. I take it out to complete the last stitch then put it back in. If you are finishing your row before the marker you might ha e a few extra stitches.
hello, thank you very much for this tutorial, I used "happy chenille" yarn my result is: the red part is too big compared to the white... it reminds me of a hazelnut 😂

Hi Finnegan! What size yarn are you using? Or does it not matter?

What yarn did you use please
If I don’t want the ball that big, how should I adjust the stitches?
@@KingIceColdPug I would use a smaller hook size + lighter weight yarn.
Please can you drop a tutorial on a Mimikyu!
To avoid struggling with tight stitches at the beginning of the row, do your stitch first, place your marker and then tighten up the magic circle 😉😉
I'll give that a try c:

thank you for posting this! i used it to make the pokeball for grusha's scarf
Oh nice!
Thank you so much for such a wonderful pattern!! Great work :)
you're welcome! Enjoy
Mine is coming out like a cone shape. Is that normal? All my stitch count matches the written pattern.
Can you go over the dimensions of the yarn? I’ve gotten to my local hobby lobby but the smallest size says to use a 4 mm hook
the suggested hook size is usually if you were making clothes or something super flowy. Amigumuri requires a much tighter stitch than what the yarn ball suggests. Usually if a ball of yarn suggests 5-6mm i use 3-4mm. The yarn that works best for this is size 4 also known as medium, Worsted, aran. Why wouldn't you out the button on top of the mismatched black stitches?
its personal preference, but if you do that you can kinda see the line coming into the left and right side of the button don't line up.
Tip - Glue or Sew the button onto the uneven seem to cover it up.
What is the difference between the single crochet and the increase? It looks like the same thing.. im new to crochet 🙃
An increase is just doing 2 single crochets into the same stich. So 2 single crochets would go into 2 of the V loops from the previous rows. An increase will be 2 single crochets that go into 1 of the V loops from the previous row.
@@finnegancrochet5702 ahh I see! Thank you for explaining 😊
Is it fine if i start with white yarn first?
I personally wouldn't because decrease stitches tend to be uglier than increase stitches. So i like to keep the decreases on the white bottom side.
Very nice, I made some too! 😊
Thank you!!!
I like your work, thank you for sharing. I’m making Pokémon balls🙏🏽

I got to the end of the 9, but it didn't go into my stitch marker. I have 44 up to marker, but not past...if that makes sense.
@@MsNaeners if this is your first row you noticed an error it is usually best to just pull that row out and start it over. 1 or 2 off shouldnt matter and i just fix it by skipping a decrease eventually.

hey can you do pikmin?
Hello, what are the sizes of the yarn?
all size 4-Medium (Worsted, Afghan, Aran)
Why two loops in your magic circle? Never seen it that way!!!!
I ran out of red yarn
I counted wrong and I have 49 black stitches on the first row im freaking out but im gonna soldier on
Why the glue?
I'm row 4
Be who didn’t have these colors so I used pastels: nice
I butchered this so hard

I got really confused???:(
I don't understand why each row is so complicated..
I use math to get the stitches for each row. Thats what makes it a perfect circle. If it was more symmetrical it would look like a hexagon not a ball.
@@finnegancrochet5702 good to know theres method behind the madness 😅 this definitely took some concentration but looks great, thanks 👍
