Topps is out of their minds charging $40 for a blaster of commons. What a shame, this hobby isn’t even affordable at the retail level anymore.
I don't blame Topps. Supply and demand. It seems to be over correcting right now but once it settles it may be affordable. I don't know I think we are in for deep clearances still.
Blame Wal-Mart. Should be a $35 box. I think it should be priced $25-30.
I have been saying this for a while now: we are clearly in Junk Wax Era 2.0.
Really no point in buying most product until the inevitable crash.

Only if everyone quits paying these crazy prices will they ever again even begin to come back down to where they were only a few short years ago…anyone remember when EVERY blaster on the shelf was $20? Chrome, Select, Prizm, they were all only $20. Prices will stay high as long as people are paying it. Don’t be surprised if they jump to $45 or $50 next year with Elly’s RC incoming…
@@douglloyd7797 and that's why I'm done paying all of these prices for cards in general. The only one I actually bought a decent amount was Topps Holiday because I like short prints and there's a guaranteed hit. But other than that everything is too expensive. I'll stick to buying singles for my PC -- as long as you're patient and not desperate you can always find a good deal with them.
Well if yall would quit buying them they would quit pricing them that way.

Ripping packs is just a disguise for gambling, no matter what anyone says. All these breakers are just gambling addicts. True collecting is buying singles.
Meijer is probably $45 if not $50! That store is nuts. I go there to browse the card section. Although my Meijer seems to be the one place that gets tons of hangers.
$40 is ridiculous! Also Topps needs some consistency with where they number the cards. Pick front or back and stick with it!!!!
I keep the rookie cards, patches never get autographs and whatever may be worth money the rest goes in the dumpster never keep commons anymore just a waste in my closet I am sick of taking care of boxes of commons like they are my children it was hard as hell at first to ever throw a card away but i do it now hope everyone else can muster up the strength to do the same thing it’s not easy

I reluctantly bought 8 boxes from my local Target...I never buy blaster boxes! Pulled Kodai Senga's 1/1 auto Magenta printing plate. Happy I at least made my money back.

Barnes & Noble is close to $30 after their 10% discount. With that said, I got 3 of them and didn't even get 1 numbered card.

Meijer is same as Walmart where I live. And they have a ton of July chrome blasters same price at Walmart. Only place I’ve seen cheaper for update is Barnes and noble for 34.99 today.

You got a couple good ones. Have seen 10 or so opened between my buddies and myself, 1 negative refractor and no autos or numbered cards. These are very easy pass especially at $35 or $40. Wouldn't pay $25 for them

Bought one and was shocked these were $40. Pulled a green Matt Mervis auto to 99.
Buy one get one 50% at Meijer. But still hot garbage. Update Chrome has been a disappointment for the price point.

Holiday is such a fun rip and (sadly) a good value in the hobby today.
I'm not surprised, topps chrome was $30 last year and it was about a dollar a card. Update was BOUND to be $40 because 2023 chrome blasters were as well. Plus walmart always charges $3-5 more for products usually.
Even know I prefer chrome product, I'd rather wait for a hobby box of this to come in OR buy 2023 update blasters to get the 5-7 parallels!

This is a great exhibit of why I don't rip retail anymore. Basically donating money to Topps and the retailer. They don't even show the hit odds on packs anymore because you're so unlikely to pull anything. Products have become so expensive over the past couple years and the secondary market has stayed the same or decreased over that time. At this point I'll buy a Hobby Box on sale every couple months and hop into a few breaks in between.
I bought 2 but mine were $32.99 which is still $7 too high...funny is that I got the exact same box that Tozzi did -(box 3) the one with the Valdez autograph

I thought it was bad when they were $30. I thought it was worse when they increased to $35. Now they're $40? Ha. This is literally throwing money down the drain. The cards aren't worth it unless you get a big hit and even then who knows how the price will be. Everyone is being priced out of everything by people who try to move cards right away. Eventually there are going to be less and less buyers and when that happens people are going to be stuck with a ton of product. The prices are going to plummet because less people will have interest. I love ripping packs, but everything is so expensive and over saturated. I have bills to pay; ripping packs is a hobby, but some people literally spend all of their money on this stuff -- and now with it upped to $40 per box....good grief.
I agree, they’re bound to come down because there’s just too many parts trying to make as much money as possible. Topps/Fanatics are trying to see what is “too much” before the customer says enough and then you have the resellers who are artificially inflating the market. The bizarre thing is besides making a fast buck off of prospecting these print runs are so high you’d have to wait a lifetime for these cards to have any real value long term.
@@2011e92M3 and that is why I'm more interested in buying vintage. They aren't quite as abundant and I just feel like there's always a certain value to them whereas newer cards can be through the roof 1 day and rock bottom the next. Eventually Topps/Fanatics stuff will sit on shelves the way Panini currently does.

The stock my Walmart in Missouri Friday late afternoon. Around 3-4pm.
I can understand spending $40 on one of these if you are going to open it on a monitized youtube channel for a video that will earn you cash, but for everyone else, I can't understand why anyone would spend $40 for an average of $3-$5 worth of cards once they are opened. You are still better off purchasing individual singles of the inserts you actually want. I have much more fun raiding $1-$5 bargain boxes at card shows to pull fun inserts than by cracking packs.

I have to say with some of the overpricing I think Museum collection is pricy but worth it.

While not common (1:1,185) I was able to pull a red refractor out of 5 from one of these value boxes so not complete hot garbage there are some decent pulls to be had
