  • Just a quick review video on the TOPDON Artilink 400 OBDII & EOBD Scan Tool

This is really a great little code reader/scan tool.
I also liked the fact that it has a light on the plug-in port.
This tool also has a nice feature to lookup DTC's (Diagnostic Trouble Codes) and a live DATASTREAM feature for several onboard monitors.
I would recommend you carry a scan tool like this in your 1996 and newer vehicle especially when traveling far from home, or it's great to have with you when looking to buy a used car.
    From the Topdon Website:
The ArtiLink400 is TOPDON’s newest OBD2 scanner. This device clears codes, resets the check engine light, resets monitors, checks emissions systems and identifies basic car problems. It is designed to provide the best diagnostic experience for DIY users and professional technicians. Compatible with most 1996 and newer vehicles, it reads, defines, and helps you solve generic and manufacturer-specific trouble codes.
With the ArtiLink400 you can quickly read and clear fault codes.
This device’s wide coverage reads not only Generic Codes (P0, P2, P3, and U0) but also Manufacturer’s Specific codes (such as P1, P3, and U1).
Read freeze frames and save historical fault codes, data streams and freeze frame records to keep track of your data and easily review it at any time.
Read the vehicle information (VIN, CID, and CVN).
This code reader can be upgraded for free, simply connect the device to a computer and install the updates through TOPDON's website.
The ArtiLink400's DLC cable includes a built-in LED flashlight for easy connection to the OBD port. Its 2.4 inches color screen can display graphical data flow, making code reading more convenient.
The ArtiLink400 requires no batteries or charging with its plug and play technology. The car will power the tool for you!
The One-Touch I/M readiness button checks the exhaust fumes to help automobiles pass emissions tests.
Find hidden issues before they occur. Use the ArtiLink400 to check your misfire monitors, O2 sensors, On-Board Monitor Tests, and EVAP Systems.
    Thanks for watching!

    Not a bad presentation..
I still need to ask a question...
Will it clear the engine warning light...
I am aware that the light would return.
The reason is over here we have a yearly road car test.
The car has to pass on various points..breaks lights steering tyres etc.
Part of that test...on more modern cars is the engine warning light..
Mine is due its yearly test..
And then it is going into Opel for a more comprehensive electrical test..
So l would like to get rid of the engine warning light... simply for the test...
We are not really allowed to drive the car without one... some police can be difficult..
I can see the value of one of these...quick tools
Just need it confirmed that it would..
    Many thanks...

@@Robert-eg8um thank you for your kind response.
      I eventually bought an AL500...
And yes it did pop up a problem with the ignition timing firing order.
But was able to clear that...
However, it did show up a very erratic tick over .. which lead to a diaphragm possibly not working from the rocker cover..
But once the engine was at higher revs....it cleared
      So that tool does help..
I can see the lambda sensors if the are working in balance..
      👍👍👍👍
