When he opened that box I immediately felt bad for them. It looked so bad. But that lighting was strange too. Certainly a ton of grease. I don't believe that score.

I will be getting my Friday pizza from there this week. Just because of the review. Didn’t even know this was there.
Any score that starts with 7 doesn't count.
It's definitely feeling that way lately. Anything 7 is the new Rookie Score. Dave puts anything there that tastes good but isn't his style.
Upper 7's are still legit but anything low 7's while people are watching is extremely suspect. Dave used to have more balls.

They did cook it differently. I've had them once, spit it out after trying to like it after the second slice and threw the entire pie in the garbage outside of a wawa. Traaaash. Cheesesteak is fucking meat gum as well

@@krisreacts9216 nah, no troll. I will say that I think it was a margarita pie instead of the plain though. I had the plain eventually and it wasn't much better. The cheesesteak though? I definitely stand by what I said about that. It was chewy and gum like, almost like chewing a slim jim with the paper layer on still. I tried it again sometime later and unfortunately it was the same result. Hell, I wanted it to be good. I want to have a good quality food establishment in the northeast but it seems like it's best for ambience.

Dave's ovaries came up with a lot of excuses for that 7.3
That looked like an 8.2 to me.. the crunch was phenomenal.. switch up the cheese to something less greasy and that's a 9.1 easy

I’d say his score is pretty accurate, I’ve had them a couple of times. In my opinion Vince’s pizza on Grant Ave is better, but Angelos in South Philly is the best I’ve had in the area.
If you look carefully into the salon behind him you’ll see Nancy Pelosi getting her hair done.

Everyone knows whenever dave's cornered, the 7.3 comes out.
Grease come from the fat in whole milk cheese. If they’re putting olive oil in their sauce recipe, combining the two together creates a greasy pizza. Put some pepperoni, sausage, a land a wet Vegetable like peppers and onion and you have a slip n slide.

You could see the grease monster in the light, then he held up the pizza. We also know 7.3 with the owner present means a negative 1 point. So real score is 6.3
Even thoe that top was a let down, the dough was nothing else but pure perfection! It was straight as an arrow. It held all that heavy top. Had a nice sound and was of perfect height. Crispy on the outside, soft inside.

Just tried Carmela's a few minutes ago... Dave ranked Vince's on Grant (trash) higher than this? I'd put this up there with Conte's in Princeton which he gave an 8.9...maybe a notch higher because I like a little chewiness with my crunch. This pie will survive a reheat in the oven on the next day and not turn into a pile of crumbs. Just the righ amount of water content in the dough to achieve a crispy and chewy crust. It's light and airy too! Vince's was like a Popeye's biscuit. Keep it up Carmela's! I have found my new neighborhood spot!
