Love the jewel in this interview, which was the moment she realized the power that her aunt being in close proximity, had on her heart. Wishing her continued pleasure and good fortune in her home, and many vital years of neighborship with her aunt. Lovely. Thank you.
Do the German Schmear technique over the red brick. TH-cam has several tutorials featuring real homeowners who have successfully accomplished this technique. I really would love to see you cover the red brick. The German Schmear technique allows you to still see bits & pieces of the red slightly visible & the results leave you with a cottage, shabby chic, textural showpiece. You have such a nice home. I enjoyed the home tour!
Love the red brick....add a few branches w. red rosehips or a few small birdhouses that have some red of same shades...roof or side chimney on them. That would tie the natural brick to other things in the room. Old really worn bricks also good as a bookend or door stop. The house is super lovely.
Word. The abundance of string lights are very juvenile to me as are all the faux plants, especially the wreaths. And the fake garland over the windows screams 1990 to me. But I'm old. So I remember that trend and was never a fan.
@@rmonson5002 Not a showroom, it's her home. What matters is that it is functional for her family and they love it. So I don't think she is thinking "omg that is soooo 1990s omg" 😂 Taste is a very individual thing.
@@AfricancoolChic Agreed. I wasn't suggesting that she should be thinking it's soooo 1990s. That was my own opinion. I'm sure she is not thinking that considering she was probably an infant in the 1990s. I was actually making an obviously failed attempt at being tactful. I'll refrain from giving my uncensored opinion. I look to TH-cam and Instagram for inspiration, sometimes I find, often I do not. She seems sweet and I'm sure her home is functional. And that's fabulous. And I certainly agree... not a showroom.
@@rmonson5002 You've written the most considerate and mature response I've ever seen on TH-cam. From your response, I can see you're a really decent person. And fair play, you made a fair point. Have a good day.
Loved the bit about her aunt, she is such a sweetie. And her and her husband having Claude the dog tattoos is so lovely, makes me happy. I also love Claude's blankets on the couch and bed! x
im surprised you didnt lift it. i get your reason why, but for safety sake, i'd have to do it. my friend lifted his home after sandy flooding in island park ny & the gov or the ins co paid for the lifting. his whole first flr was 3 ft under water. hes waterfront. he said its one less thing to worry about. if you believe in climate warming, there should be alot more flooding coming.
You can switch out the faux fireplace with a gas fireplace since it is an outside wall. We did it and absolutely love it Fall through Spring. I love the brick red also.
Your place is nice. Very homey. You could change the color of the bricks to a grey. I think that would help tie the room together. Paint it like brick grey. So that it looks like grey brick.
Omg a walking closet love it ,I live in a studio ,and I always say I just wish I had a walking closet, lol your place is beautiful thank you for sharing ❤
Steffy you made me tear up because my niece and I have the same kind of relationship and she always tears up when she talks about her Aunty she is almost sixty and would love to live close to me like that.
She is adorable. I love many of the things she has done. But, please get rid of the garlands. I get what she's going for, yet, plants can be used in so many other ways.
Would've loved to have seen a floor plan of the original layout as well as to know how they moved the plumbing and gas from the back of the house to where the current kitchen is now which was definitely a smart decision.
Quite a renovation! Must have cost a fortune. It's great to have everything where you want it to be. I would definitely change that fireplace though. If you don't change it to a gas one, paint the brick white and do away with the fake log look. I have a dark kitchen, so I understand your reaction when you first saw yours w/o skylights. I have another floor above me so no skylights for me, sadly. To make matters worse, I put medium tone wood cabinets on the bottom. Live & learn.
I love your style couple questions for you, where did you get that gold vanity it's so pretty? And what is the name of that shade of green in the living room?
Is there a reason the wallpapers don’t line up? I’ve see that on a couple of channels lately and was wondering if it’s because of the (cheap) product or because it’s too much work for people to match up the edges?
Do you really want this sweet young woman to read these petty negative comments. I realize we all have our pet peeve’s about language, etc.! But she’s young and that’s how “like” they talk! 😉
I really enjoyed meeting you and seeing your charming home. Killer closet! Just asking,: Why is one leg of ladder in entryway white, and other not? Cozy location on the water! Subscribed!
This is lovely, and yet I find myself thinking this is so bougie, having a whole huge closet, owning 25 pairs of shoes, etc. I guess all of these videos are people with wealth. It’s just weird how much expendable income people have that they can fiddle with wall color and renovations, and other people starve in the streets or work 3 jobs or whatever.
It's a very beautiful house and I enjoyed the tour. The only thing is, as a 'forever' home, that is meant to accomodate the needs of a growing family, I don't understand how the whole family is allocated the entry, living, dining and kitchen within the one area. And yet Steffy has this incredibly indulgent dressing room wing entirely to herself. I don't mean to be a wet blanket but it seems like such a poor use of space.
She’s loopy. Either that or just young & naive. First of all without raising that home they can’t get flood insurance & regular home owners is sky high. How is this shoebox your Forever Home? Don’t get me started on the garland all over & the changing seasons decor ugh! Best thing is the bathroom ⭐️

I like it that your home decor is so attainable for working class people. I adore your closet and good job on the renovations.
Absolutely beautiful! It has such a serene, peaceful vibe to it! Love the greenery and the wood!
Her look gives me such strong Bailey from WKRP in Cincinnati vibes!
Love her family home !!! She is a wonderful mother and wife !!
Ignore the naysayers. Your home is adorable and slightly quirky. You’ve done a wonderful job, don’t be so apologetic for your choices. Well done. ❤️
Love this home - it's so warm and heartfelt, yet stunningly beautiful!

Beautiful, comfy home
I love this home and all the updates done here. Great inspiration. Thanks for sharing.

I love your sweet home!!
You did a great job with your board and batten wall! Kudos!😊👏🤗
LOVE YOUR HOME!!!
Lovely home ❤
Beautiful earthy feel in this house
Beaitiful job. Unfortunately, the stringy garlands and faux wreaths seem to distract from the more sophisticated design.

Aficancoolchic - she is calling herself a designer and showcasing her home . So constructive criticism is elicited.

So do I

I love everything but the garlands everywhere
Your place is just gorgeous. I LOVE
Really LOVE all the windows.
This house is perfect the way u fix it.
Now u enjoyed it ❤
My LOL moment was the cactus on the bathtub! The last place I would dream of having a cactus is in the same room where I might be naked! LOL :-)
I don't think that a cactus likes being there either... way too humid for a desert creature.
You can switch out the faux fireplace with a gas fireplace since it is an outside wall. We did it and absolutely love it Fall through Spring. I love the brick red also.
Leave the bricks the red color. It would be too white if you painted them white. It's a nice contrast to the white!
Cute house. If you haven’t decided yet, paint the brick..❤
So beautiful and inspiring 😃👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Very nice. Cozy style that seems obtainable. Good job!
Watching this with subtles you say like aloootttt

Steffy you made me tear up because my niece and I have the same kind of relationship and she always tears up when she talks about her Aunty she is almost sixty and would love to live close to me like that.
Very comfortable, clean- lined, and quaint.
Love your renovation and yeah that closet! Yep good!!
I quit counting the “ like” after.....but, beautiful home! Great job.
She is adorable. I love many of the things she has done. But, please get rid of the garlands. I get what she's going for, yet, plants can be used in so many other ways.
Very cute! I would paint the brick black. It would help it resemble the inside of a real fireplace and would give some depth. Worth a try?
Think about whitewashing the fireplace. You still get a little of the contrast of the red brick, but much subtler.
Liked this video a lot
Very nice. LOVE Long Beach.
Love the fireplace. Leave the brick red. Everyone does white and the brick looks original like it always was there. I would leave it red.
Love your home, but please, please, please take down some of that garland....less is more sometimes, other than that great design.
And some of those wreaths and fairy lights too!
Beautiful home, cosy and heartfelt 💕💕💕
Alison, please film more of New York apartments.
Nicely done
I love her tattoo! 🐶
Would've loved to have seen a floor plan of the original layout as well as to know how they moved the plumbing and gas from the back of the house to where the current kitchen is now which was definitely a smart decision.
I love the fireplace, I always wanted one of those.
The garland on curtains with the lights😵😵😵
Dream house! Saving this for inspo for when my hubby and I get ours 🤍
Living near family is the ideal. Not always possible, of course. But having family close is human.
Beautiful home. The fireplace is lovely though I’d paint it white.. 💓

Such a sweet spot!
Is there a reason the wallpapers don’t line up? I’ve see that on a couple of channels lately and was wondering if it’s because of the (cheap) product or because it’s too much work for people to match up the edges?
I don't know what there are more of....garlands or "Like"
I’d take the “likes” over all those wreaths and garlands. Oy.
I'm not feeling all the Lux either 🙄
Do you really want this sweet young woman to read these petty negative comments. I realize we all have our pet peeve’s about language, etc.! But she’s young and that’s how “like” they talk! 😉
You MUST have a red fireplace, for sure!
I really enjoyed meeting you and seeing your charming home. Killer closet! Just asking,: Why is one leg of ladder in entryway white, and other not? Cozy location on the water! Subscribed!
I think German shmear would look good
Paint the brik white and the mantelpiece some nice colour.
Keep the fireplace brick red!
I wouldn't want that cactus to fall on me while in the bathtub.
Nice. I would prefer less fake garlands and plants and more art.
I don't like the red on the fireplace and the logs. The rest is nice! The dog is adorable
She said LIKE probably 100 tiles. It's so distracting. Liiiiike. I can't. Next.
Did someone count how many times she said "like"?
I wouldn’t paint the brick. I would do some iridescent tiles over it.
There are real plants too.
It's a very beautiful house and I enjoyed the tour. Cute house but get rid of all the drapey fake plants across windows, doorways, and mantle.
She designed her home for her family and not for you.
Take a sip every time she says "like".
If it was alcohol I would not be in good shape.
I'm worried for them about the next few hurricanes.
She seems really great, but 2015 called and...
Paint the brick white!
I don’t allow people to step in on my carpet with their shoes on
She’s loopy. Either that or just young & naive. First of all without raising that home they can’t get flood insurance & regular home owners is sky high. How is this shoebox your Forever Home? Love what you have done but the camera is moving way too fast! Your eyes can’t follow that fast plus I miss out on the details!
2 seconds in... she's gotta be a pisces
I am curious.. why do you think that? I actually looked it up lol and her Birthday is on (or around) July 13th.
The uptalk is real?
boring , i had to stop at 3minutes
Paint the bricks.
The amount of fake plants is admirable.
love the home but ugh she talks a little bit as if she's too self absorbed
Are you a mum? Because you never mentioned it.....
Very cute but sooo small, too claustrophobic for me.
The size compares well with many houses in the UK!
