My dear, you have the most important job in the world as a parent. Keep a watchful eye on him and don't trust anyone with him. Man or woman; abuse is found in both genders and is prolific amongst teenagers who have been abused. I know this from working with abused children who are violated by grandparent's, father's, mother's every member within the family. This is called familial sexual abuse. Childhood is robbed forever and emotional and psychological problems sets in. Most parents do not understand the changes in their child behaviour, as the secret is mostly never revealed . I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your dear mother. She sounds like a beautiful woman may she rest in peace. Make sure your son gets a good education and have a strong male role model with impeccable conscious and moral values around him. Boys needs strong and moral male role models for them to develop a moral conscious . As single mother myself, it is hard work, but with determination and fortitude you will survive. Money is only important for the necessities in life, you need to be available to safeguard and protect your child. I get upset when single parent get a bad name and the assumption is that our children turn out bad. Both of my children attended university and got excellent degrees. They have always been at the top of their class and have never been disiplined at school. Children need their parents to believe in their abilities to achieve what ever they want . I always told mine that their brains are as good as Einstein's, they just need to apply it and work hard to achieve good grades. Be careful of remotes and cell phones, as it emits harmful rays that effect the child growing brain. Lastly, you are doing it right by repeting the alphabet and everything else. Young children, like hearing the same rhymes and being read the same illustrated books etc. Remember when we were young, we too went back to the same picture books and nursery rhymes.
