"Toe touch" and "Swirl" are very similar.But it's a different move. Toe touch→Don't turn the pivot foot. Move only the legs. Swirl→Turn the pivot foot. At the same time,turn your hips. The spelling of "Padbbre"is an abbreviation for "Pas de bouree". That's what japanese House dancers call it. I don't know why either. I've always been a mistery. Thanks for your comment!

Isn’t it passe de bourree not paddbre? Or is that the house version of the term? Studio dancer learning the style and I just want to make sure I’ve got the correct terminology.

What I am introducing is the most basic and representative footwork. There are about 100. The footwork of house dance has a tremendous number of variations and arrangements. There are many movements inspired by various dances such as hip hop, breaking, jazz, ballet and Latin dance. A new movement may be born at this very moment.
I'm curious, who was your teachers in Japan ? Who gave you the names for all these steps ? There are more steps here than in the classic House Dance Dictionary (Old / Middle/ New). Are there any other "historical videos" you could recommend for the steps names ?
I have a lot of teachers. I learned from not only Japan but also the great dancers of NY. Not only the teacher but also my friends taught me the steps. The name was learned from them. My recommended video is "new school dictionary". This is a video lectured by "Dance Fusion". Thank you!

I noticed there is not really anything out there like that, I think it would be very cool if there is a book solely about house dancing for beginners, all the basic steps, the aesthetics, the history, etc. Perhaps you can then include videoclips for each steps if it is an ebook. Check out the books by "human kinetics" on ballet, hip-hop, and tap dance to get what I am talking about! perhaps you can partner with them? :P
