The members were lead vocalist Carl White (June 21, 1932 - January 7, 1980), tenor Al Frazier (d. November 13, 2005), baritone Sonny Harris, and bassist Turner "Rocky" Wilson, Jr. Frazier was replaced by Madero White for a period in the late 1970s.[1]
WOW - this is amazing - i have all their records but never seen them live like this :O - thank you sooooo much for putting this out - fantastic... papa oom mow mow - these guys were such pioneers - they deserve greater recognition - rock and roll hall of fame... they were just GREAT.
There a HUGE number of performers from the beginnings of Rock and Roll who never received any recognition or induction into the now totally misnamed "Rock and Roll Hall of Fame."
The structure of the song seems more cohesive now that I see the different vocal parts represented through their stagecraft, or at least how it's played up here as a performance act and not an isolated recording seems more copacetic to me anyways. In fact I think it makes it more catchy seeing it performed live. Thanks for the upload.
Sha Na Na does a much better version than these guys. I was aggravated with the Rivingtons because they took everything from the Trashmen after the group took Surfin Bird to number one instead of being willing to negotiate a deal with the band. The Bird Is The Word was reworked by the Trashmen and that's why it was a hit for them and not the Rivingtons. Papa Ooh Mow Mow was the Rivingtons only hit and they were very eager to negotiate with other groups that wanted to record it. Sha Na Na did an awesome job on it on their TV show. Bowser and Dirty Dan nailed it.
Is great seeing them live in concert rest in peace Papa oom mow. Mow love you Dad

Absolutely AWESOME!!
The Rivingtons are the Greatest!
Is there a reason why they only showed up close view of 2 of the members and not all 4??? That’s ridiculous and unfair.

Can anyone provide the names of these great artists, from left to right, and how many of them are original Rivingtons from the 60's?
I believe the second from the left was Carl White, lead singer, and died at 47.
Defitently orginal rocky. That does bass. Wow i love all there records. There first of surf.
