Even with some stars missing this is still a very talented group. It's going to be an exciting race for the remaining podium places between Italy, GB and Brazil I reckon.

I will say having watched all of the Paris World Challenge Cup, I like Brazil’s medal chances way more than I like Italy’s right now. Flavia Saraiva hit bars, beam, and floor. Sure, she had to water down beam and floor due to her ankle injury, but she put up scores in the low to mid 13s for all three events, which is exactly the backup that Rebeca Andrade needs. Jade Barbosa also had a very promising return on floor. Finally, Rebeca Andrade put up mid 14s scores on bars in quals and finals, despite neither one being performed at her absolute max. She also got a 6.4 D on her EF bar routine, which is extra promising.

@@asharadayne6159 Yeah definitely! I just want Flavia to FINALLY get a medal, even if it's a team one!

I’ve said it before; if Italy brought their A team they’d smoke Britain and wouldn’t be far behind Russia as the second best team in the world. If they had Asia and Alice D’Amato, Maggio, Esposito and Villa you’ve got 5 gymnasts that could hit 3/4 apparatus no troubles. Then you’ve got Andreoli and Ferrari - both can up their D score on floor. If Italy figures out these injuries they’ll be the team to watch at the Olympics in Paris.

Did you watch the Russian Cup recently? The Russians are a mess right now, and don't let those scores fool you otherwise.

      @@liukin95 they were incredibly sloppy.

@@liukin95don’t underestimate the Russians. They have one full year to train. One year before London Aliya tore her ACL but managed to recover to London and win multiple medals. And the second day of competition went better too

@@ilitleo Aliya was a once in a generation athlete, I wouldn’t use her as a measuring stick. I think the reason most people are betting against the Russian’s is that the talent isn’t as deep as it could otherwise be. They have Melnikova and Listunova. Urazova is a shadow of herself, Gerasimova is struggling with injury and has probably hit her ceiling. Kustova looks promising on bars only. Russia is in decline in WAG.

@@andywillard8336 well, I do believe a lot in Listunova, Kustova and Urazova. As I said, these girls have beautiful form and some difficulty, and the most artistic gymnasts in the world at this point. But in every team, there is one or two very talented girls in maximum.
Kustova has beautiful floor and beam as well. The only problem is vault where they seem a little weaker every quad. I think Russia will have a better team than in 2016 and 2020. Because Listunova will be at her prime, urazova will definitely show new skills and kustova is what most excites me, she looks more talented than any new girl out there. And I’m not sure if Melnikova will be at Paris …
But anyways, they won’t be at Team Final… they will work individually, maybe it will be even better, they will be the whole year training one or two apparatus, like Aliya that spend months only training bars and end up being the champion at this event

Impressionante como a Itália está forte, mesmo sem Asia Damato, Martina Maggio e Giorgia Villa. Brigariam de frente com a Rússia e Estados Unidos, se tivessem com o time A completo e se a Rússia pudesse participar
