    Took my dads old gx200 6.5hp pressure washer and bought a Coleman ct200uex frame and bought everything new including the hydraulic brake conversion kit and this helped a lot cause I ended up having to widen the back of my Frame too but everything’s fitting good now and it all coming together now and the best part about all of it is it’s a project me and him are doing together and it’s my first project too.

    I would have welded the top part of the caliper bracket to the frame as well just for extra rigity. You never know I mean those frames can't be too thick of a wall and I'd bet after a while that little tab that's holding the wheel AND holding much more braking force will likely start to stress and/or crack especially since it's a pretty unforgiven area. Overall though I randomly ran across this video and you did a solid job and it looks good!

    What size bolts for the brakes

  • @ebrammer2525
    @ebrammer2525 6 วันที่ผ่านมา

    When you mocked up the rear caliper bracket to determine where to cut it and where to weld it. Did you mock it up with the rear axle adjusted all the way forward? Also, how did you ensure the new bracket was squared up before welding it? Square is in, on the same plane as the tab you welded it too, so it wasn't off kilter.
    A part of me wonders if it might be worthwhile to mock it up and weld the new bracket with the wheel about 1/4 of the way out from fully in. So that way you have a little bit more clearance on the caliper/disc. Cause I'd be afraid I'd weld it too short and the spine of the disc would be rubbing against the caliper.

    We are converting our bike to electric. One issue we have is that the electric motor is reverse threaded so it is best to run the chain on the right side of the bike. Do you think we could use this kit and put the break on the left and sprocket on the right?

    Great mod...question...did you delete the hub bushing with the new wheel? My new BT200X's bushing is exactly 3/16" short...caused bearings to cant at an angle and prevent wheel from rotating with minimal resistance. (actually seized the wheel with only 20 ft lbs of torque)

    I watched this a few days ago, and I'm going to watch it again. Thinking of converting my 200U-EX to a swingarm rear suspension as my old back doesn't like the hardtail cross country. Would be a perfect time to do this install. One question: Do you think that disc setup would work on either side of the rim? Asking as I'm probably going to run a jackshaft that is also the pivot point, and I don't know how much room I will have, so the sprocket might get moved to the opposite side. Thanks for any input.

    • @NubsWithGuns

      I know this was comment was 11 months ago, but My bike is the twin to this one(Axis M200), this is what I did to make it noticeabley better.
      Experiment with your tire pressure(10psi front and rear makes my bike bounce around bad)
      I found out that 9 in the front and 8 in the rear was best for me.
      The spring seat from my bike I think would be a bolt on for a CT200U-EX(not 100% sure)
      Between tweaking the nuts on the seat for a different amount of preload on the springs and 9psi in the front tire and 8 on the back tire seemed to give it enough bounce to where if I am not hammering on it (good luck telling my hand to stop doing that lol)through a lot of bumpy terrain it really isn't too bad for a hard tail.
