Absolutely beautiful footage! I especially loved the wildlife you captured on video. Well done. You showed areas I never did not see on other videos. Looks like you both had fun.
For the longest time, I've dreamt of embarking on the Tour de Mont Blanc, and this video has brought me one step closer to preparing myself and embracing the adventure. Thank you for creating and sharing this wonderful video-it's truly inspiring and has reignited my passion for this journey! I'm subscribed to your channel!!
I'm glad that the film helped you. I wish you a wonderful tour and, above all, good weather. The weather is currently very unstable in the Alps. let me know how the tour went. did you book all the huts or did you bring a tent?
Great video! Thank you for making such a long video! It gives a far better understanding of the trail than shorter videos do. Maybe I just didn't see it, but I couldn't find information on what dates you did your hike. Would be interesting to know that, to understand better when it is that kind of temperature/weather, before we decide ourselves to do the hike.
Thank you :-) we found the "Traumpfad" much more varied in terms of the landscape. Because the landscape changes more. The path around Mont Blanc ultimately always goes around the same mountain. We also walked the traumpfad last year. remains our favorite tour in the alps. Have you seen our movie of the tour? :-) th-cam.com/video/JU_tjO0SmRk/w-d-xo.htmlsi=wafN-HZmE2EJaQBz
Best video I've seen about the Mont Blanc tour. I am scheduled to go with my wife in September of this year and I was wondering if the camping areas are easy to find and if I have to have any permits to camp. I thank you for your feedback and congratulate you once again.
Hi, yes the campsites are all right on the edge of the official route. Wild camping is allowed above 2500 meters. Camping is relatively easy in France. In Italy we have also seen people camping next to the huts. In Switzerland there are commercial campsites with showers. Have a nice trip!
Hi, Thanks for the informative video, really enjoyed it. I would greatly appreciate your help... I suppose to land in Geneva on July 2 at 9:40 am I wanted to know if you think I will be able to get to Les Contamines Montjoie (14km +/-) on the same day, or is it better for me to wait the day in Les-Houches and start the trek the day after?
Hi, I think its possible to do that. Depends on your Fitness Level. you have to go 600 Meters up and down again. Checkout the route with a App like komoot. We made it to les contamines in arround 5 or 6 hours. Have a nice Tour!
This video was great. I've been racking my brain from website to website, video to video and this vid broke it down the best. Seeing how I wanted to Mostly Camp, but also try some Rifugio, and of course a couple nights spoiling myself at a hotel, this video really help me put it all together. One question, do you know if you can choose to camp at all the Rifugios, or only some of them? Great Video, Thanks....
thanks for the kind words. i'm not quite sure about the huts. I know that it was possible at some huts. as a rule, they won't send you on if it's already late. But in any case it makes sense to have a tent with you. we were much more flexible and could adapt our tour accordingly. in any case, camping above 2500 meters is legal and France is also very camping friendly. In Switzerland and Italy it's a bit more difficult.
Hi, thanks for a great video. My friend and I are going July 2024 and would like to create a video detailing our experience. I won't have anything fancy with me, just my S23 Ultra. Any recommendations on how to best use my camera and some of your lessons learned as you filmed your experience?
Hello Richard, that's a difficult question. In my opinion, the most important thing is to hold the camera steady and not to pan too much. Have a look at my first video. you'll see what I mean. over time you get a feel for which perspectives and angles look good. Only experience can help. Cell phone cameras are not sufficient for really high quality in my opinion. I usually have 3 cameras with me for different situations. I also filmed my first video with my cell phone. Have a look at the difference. Here is the link: th-cam.com/video/9YdrSepBNrU/w-d-xo.html If you compare it with the Mont Blanc tour you will recognize many differences :-) Good luck and have a great tour!

Bezüglich der zusätlichen Kilometer habe ich auch keinen Überblick. Bzogen auf die Tour schätze ich mal aus dem Bauch heraus 10 Kilometer extra. LG
It is the best video about TMB I have already seen!! We are looking to go on September! How did you know where camping? It’s necessary to book the camping?
There are campsites right on the edge of the official route. Wild camping is allowed above 2500 meters. Camping is relatively easy in France. In Italy and Switzerland we have seen people camping next to the huts. In Switzerland there are commercial campsites with showers. You dont need to book but make sure to be early on smaller sites. Otherwise you dont get good spots.
Awesome movie! My wife and I did day hikes on the TMB in 2016, and hope to do the classic route this August. The hotel/spa you stayed at in Courmayeur looks fantastic. What is the name of it?
Hello Lamar, you can acutally see the Name of the Hotel in the Video. It called "Hotel Mont blanc" if you have any other questions just let me know. If you liked the Video i would be happy about a Free Abo 😊
I think its hard to recommend footwear. But you definitly dont need high boots for this tour. That saves energy while walking. At the trip i was using merell moab gtx. Right now im using Lowa Maddox GTX lo. you can see them in our next video coming soon :-)
Hi! Tks a lot for the video. I am taking notes. If I may, i have a few questions. Name of the hotel in Courmayeur? Where did you camp at grand col ferret? (Gps location if you can, Above 2500m). I liked the outro 😊. Just can’t wait. Maybe next june/july 😊
The Name of the hotel was "hotel Mont blanc". At Grand col ferret we walked over the top an then just a few hundert Meters down 😊 you will See lots of places 😊
Thank you very much. Yes, I can see there is a water source just after Grand Col Ferret. Must be there. If you camp late enough, must be tolerated. The spa looked so nice. Well deserved.
the question is easy to answer. we walked from les houches to la balme ;-) in les houches we drove the car to a parking lot and then walked to the campsite in la balme. i only filmed the train that can be seen in the video as we walked over the train tracks. can i answer any other questions? do you want to walk the tour too?

All the tour groups I looked at offer 8 days , 11 days but only a fraction of the hike with integrated landmarks sites or places of site to see. I am from Canada 🇨🇦 and want to do approx 15-20 km at day to absorb the beautiful scenery in the Treking adventure being 170km
Hello, yes there is internet connection in many places. However, you also walk through Switzerland for several days. As Switzerland is not in the EU, additional tariffs are required in advance. In any case, you should not rely on always having internet. Very important: always have navigation ofline with you. Otherwise it can quickly become dangerous.
Looks tough! We are planning for 2024 right now, but I think we’ll do shorter hikes over more days. Great video footage. What lenses would you recommend?
The path is easy to walk on. There are only a few difficult sections. The tours can also be made shorter. However, this also depends on your planning and how you get around. With a tent you are much more flexible on the tour because the huts are sometimes fully booked months in advance. An 18-55 mm lens was enough for me. Then an action cam and the drone if desired
