I had no idea that she struggled that much. It's amazing how she has been able to work through these struggles and come closer to God while also becoming an even more amazing athlete.
Sydney is a believer in God. That is her personal confession. I believe in God. My personal confession. In Him I live move and have my being. Enjoy your day. No argument. You are entitled to believe what you believe. I believe in God and have a relationship with Him through Jesus Christ. Take care of yourself.
Funny how others love to present their beliefs as factual without request. IDK if she has used anything. I don't like her coach. I absolutely love what she represents. Delilah Muhammad was my favorite for years. Now it's Sydney's time. I also love and cheer for Anna Cockrell. These ladies are exceptional talents with exceptional spirits. Do your thing regardless and in spite of. Keep telling YOUR testimony and breaking records. Regards! Great things are in your future.
@@lelebella3252Femke is a very talented runner. I rate her as a strong #2 to Sydney. Nobody mentioned Shamir Little or Anna Cockrell. All are worthy of mentioning.
Sydney went thru what most teenagers go thru. She grew, learned Faith and Fear can’t live in the same house. Anxiety is Fear in a Tuxedo… God Bless this Amazingly Beautiful Woman ♥️🇺🇸♥️🇺🇸
You can tell she's an introvert, a quiet soul. One of the problems in today's hyped-up social media world is that the quiet folks of the world are often misread as unhappy, miserable or unappreciative. I get all the time the question "you don't seem excited" or "are you mad" just because I'm not doing cartwheels or makign a big deal of things. I just feel more comfortable keeping it inside. I feel like that same projection is going on with Sydney, where her demeanor is seen as aloof, unappreciative or too serious. You can tell this means everything to her, that's she's afraid of failure and letting herself and her nation down. I'm glad she found the resolve to dig herself out of that hole and now join the ranks of the greatest Olympians of all-time. A genuine success story.
totally awesome interview 😊 what an amazing Christian lady/person. So thrilled she has a close, personal relationship with God. 💜🙏 God bless you Sydney.
She is such an inspiration to everyone who is all too familiar with the fear, anxiety and stress that comes with trying to base your sense of worth and value in anything but God. She's amazing!
Sydney didnt lose in 2019 though, it just wasnt her time considering her age. This generation, including the christians , should learn patience. God is a God of fairness and EVERY athlete will excel in his or her prime.
@@siefooteit's a matter of age and time. Dalilah Muhammad was a gold medalist in the 400mh in 2016. The fact that Sydney finished that close in 2019 at that age was remarkable. She hadn't reached her best yet.
Joy in the midst of all winter or lose and not being overtaken with perfection. So sad that people didn’t appreciate a high school kid making it to the Olympics and hating on her for not winning a medal. I guess those same losers would have hated on Michael Phelps after his first Olympics…
As a Catholic I didn't understand what she meant with her "not having anything to offer." Could anyone explain it to me please? Just wanna know what she means! May be a difference in beliefs but didn't God give us gifts, even if it's just the ability to walk or run, and we can use those to help others and build a strong and loving community? So why would she have nothing to offer? Because to her, it all belongs to him and she doesn't have any power over what she does?
I guess for me, God gave us free will. And it does take our trying our best and acting on things to achieve things, though ultimately we don't have a say in what happens. But we still have something to offer I think... haha would appreciate your guys' perspectives!
@@muffindolphindaphnee I think you touched on it on the first part of your last question. Though faith without works is dead, God is the supplier of everything. Everything good comes from Him, which means even our faith in Him He gave to us. So we don’t have anything to offer God because everything we have He gave to us in the first place. Therefore we should be good stewards over our gifts, responsibilities, roles, etc. which ultimately like she said gives Him glory. But there’s peace in knowing we don’t and actually can’t do anything to earn God’s approval or satisfaction or love. He loves us simply bc He wants to and He’s good, and out of our love for Him we should do our best to please Him. Does this make sense?
Anyone of any notoriety needs to stay the hell away from social media, lots of people being that garbage on themselves. Social media is the toilet of the internet…
She's successful MOSTLY because of 1) superior genetics, 2) desire to win and be the best 3) hard work, 4) good social support, 5) good coaching, 6) good training facilities, 7) high standards, 8) good nutrition Belief in one particular deity isn't a prerequisite for success, as there are atheists, agnostics, and polytheists who succeed at the highest levels in all facets of life.
More like Bobby Kersee 3:16 says, "I've been doping my athletes since the 1980s and haven't been caught yet..." I mean, Sydney went from just barely beathing Delilah Mohammed, the previous record holder, to beating Delilah Mohammed by more than 30/40 meters less than 2 years later... I mean, she demolishes the world record, then disappears from competition for almost 2 years with a phantom injury nobody knew any details of, same time missing the world champs, as well as no records of any treatment being delivered for any injury during the time. Then comes back and beats 200m and 400m specialists in their own events by a considerable margin in her season opener race after no competitive racing for 2 years... You do the math... By the way, did I forget to mention bob Kersee was also Flojo's coach for most of the 80s? hmm, food for thought.
Very nasty comment. She has been unusually talented since she was a teenager. She didn’t disappear with an injury for 2 years, but for half a season last year. She ran the 400m in Paris last year and continued to do so this year. Her 200m pb is not spectacular. Her technical abilities are far superior to her competitors, I suggest you study hurdle technique before you talk.
I had no idea that she struggled that much. It's amazing how she has been able to work through these struggles and come closer to God while also becoming an even more amazing athlete.
Blessed and talented woman of God carrying forth the assignment God has given her. Doing it with professionalism, dignity and giving God the glory.

Spoiler alert: there is no god. She is a wonderful athlete in het own right. It's not god it's her inner voice she is listening to.
