That was the idea I had in mind. Anything to get people making their own baits! So much satisfaction catching something one makes himself!!! Thanks man for watching!!!
I have a little tip that works for me. I found that when I'm cutting tubes & like your instance showed the tube cutter does not cut through all the way, I found if I leave the bait in the cutter, turn it upside down to the bait (& blades) are up, I will use a hockey puck & roll it over the plastic & finish the cut. It reduces the "double cut" or cut off skirt tails.
You can make 10 tubes at a time with 10 rods put in a piece of plywood, just make them form a circle a little smaller than your pouring cup with about 6 on the outside a 4 in the middle. Keep about 3/4" space between them. Make sure your plastic is deep enough in your cup for the length of baits you want to make. You can still make fancy tubes by sprinkling power on one side or the other. Also on your tube cutter get an old hand lever pop can crusher and set it up, so your cutter will come down and hit a piece of hard rubber pad or thick belting just as the lever bottoms out hard. Makes cutting tubes really quick and easy.
@@TheBaitCave I most certainly do and have a few ideas I haven’t seen tried yet on video will be giving one or two of them a shot once I get my heat gun in the mail
damn, this might be the video that gets me into soft plastic making. I'm cheap and the only plastics I usually use are crappie tubes. I also live next too a bass pro catalog outlet where they sell plastics in tubs by the pound.
I will say, be careful if you do!!! Its crazy addictive, and not focus at work!! All day long, I think about what I'm going to make when my family goes to bed!!
I got an open pour swimbait and creature bait from angling ai and some injection worm molds ftom angling ai. Where would be a good place to get the pyrex cups because I only have one and am on a budget?
Nice job encouraging folks that might wanted to get started inexpensively on a great hobby👍👍

Very nice results. Impressive, but a little hard to listen to. Keep smoothing out the format and I look forward to seeing how far you go!
Super!
What type of rod did you use? Was it a specific type?
Actually the rod I used was a piece of 5/16 aluminum stock... that it!!! Thanks for checking out the video!!
Thanks man! I just ordered some new molds and can't wait to start making baits!!

@@maxwagner8022 Wal-Mart is the best place I've found for Pyrex cups.
Great tubes. Do you ever use or make glow in the dark lures?
I have never actually used glow in the dark stuff... not sure why, but I'm definitely willing to give it a shot!!!
What firmness of plastisol do you recommend for 1.5 inch tube baits?
Bait plastics 242 blend is perfect for me.
