Hi. I'm from SA. I've just subscribed. I have followed the tutorial on how to do the V-Stitch and how to do the scarf. I do seem to get the hang of the stitch and I like it because I find that it's the easiest stitch for me to do. I've tried a few other stitches and I struggle a lot, but I am very determined that I'll eventually get the hang of those also, but for now, I'll stick to the V-Stitch. I will finish the scarf for now, but my dream goal is a nice big blanket :-) - it will take me very long though.
In 2014 I became very seriously ill and was in hospital for 1 year which after I was left paralyzed from my shoulders down to the tip of my toes and I was told that I'll never walk again.......well, I just didn't accept that and I believed and trusted God that I will walk again.
After 1 year I gave my first tiny step with a walking frame and from there it became better and better. Dr's were amazed to see that I've started walking again, let alone the fact that I was still alive......that is another miracle, because according to what I went through and how many times my family was told that I only had a 3% chance of living and a few times that I'm no longer there.
My hands in the meantime started contracting in a claw like position and still are like that, even after 2 operations to straighten my fingers.
It is now 3 years and 3 months that I am walking. Only 2 months ago I got a walking stick (I've upgraded from the wheelchair...to the walking frame...to the walking stick)
I have chronic acute pain all over my body and also my hand that is in the claw like position is very painful. So for me everyday tasks are very challenging, but I won't give up. I can walk a little bit without the walking stick, but I have to be careful.
So, now you have a little bit of a background of me and I wanted to explain why I find the V-Stitch easier. My fingers can't manage the other stitches very well, but I will for sure try until I do get the hang of it.
Thank you for your tutorial on how to make a scarf and how to do the V-Stitch. I am exited though to start with the blanket, but I first have to practice a little more:-)
    Good day to you further
    Regards
    Beatrix (Rika)

+Beatrix Schutte Hi Beatrix. I'm so sorry to read about all of your health troubles... I truly hope that you can continue with your crochet. It must be very hard for you if you're in a lot of pain all the time. Something that may be a good one for you if you wanted to try a blanket would be my super chunky ridged blanket tutorial, it is really simple but because you use super chunky yarn, it builds really quickly. 💗 I hope you have a good day. Take care 🌸 Rebekah

howdy! i just wanted to give you a BIG "THANK YOU" for this confidence building video! I've only just recently started to teach myself how to crochet and I've never ventured outside of a single crochet stitch (don't know any of the terms so i can't say which one) i haven't ventured outside of making blankets out of starter chains basically:-). ive wanted to make something that looked more intricate then a pot holder, but found most patterns mind boggling and intimidating. however, I'm quite proud to tell you I'm working on a scarf in your pattern and im 6 rows in! (i like a wide scarf so i doubled your pattern and went with 36+5 stitches )i found an ombre in fall colors to give myself PLENTY of time to complete (this being summer time currently;-) although this is such a fast stitch, i don't think I'll need it all. .

    • @BlossomCrochet
      @BlossomCrochet  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

Hi there, thank you for your feedback. I don't currently have a video on how to do that... But if you've made an infinity scarf, once you've done your last row just fasten off and then sew in your ends. Lie the scarf down flat in front of you and fold one half over the other so that the short edges line up with one another, attach another piece of yarn in the top right corner and then slip stitch through the two closest back loops that line up together, do that all the way along until you reach your last stitch and fasten off and sew in as normal. I hope this helps, but I will do a tutorial for it as soon as I can. Apologies for not having one ready for you! Rebekah.

Hi Rebekah, thank you for taking the time to reply, I really appreciate it. I may sound stupid however this is my first crocheting project ever so I don't know how to fasten off and sew in. I really am a beginner. Another tut would be fantastic thanks, I will keep an eye out. Until then I'll find someone to show me. Thanks again. Once again I'm stoked that this will be my first ever finished project. I don't instagram so will post here.

Hi Vikki, I have to admit, I've not got around to finishing this blanket yet! However, I tend to make sure my baby blankets are at least 45" length... Just keep measuring or go by eye until you feel it's long enough for whatever you want to use it for, car seat / moses basket/ pram etc. Congratulations on your impending arrival too! Rebekah

Hello, I really do prefer to change colour using the magic knot. I wonder if you’ve used that method and what your thoughts are? No ends to worry about and so secure. I am doing the magic knot in this v stitch blanket ( adult size) would you agree with that ? Thank you.

Beautiful blanket!! Love this stitch, if using a corrugated yarn how many would I chain at the end to start a new row? I'm quite new to crochet. Thank you so much for your tutorials.

I love this stitch however I had to restart several times because I was unhappy with the gauge! I think you are a wonderful educator!!!!
I have a question on the BEAN stitch: or puff. I am not a huge fan. Can I reduce the six yarn overs to four to get a flatter surface? I think I can.
I also want make a spiral blanket. The lady who teaches that is incredible talented but I cannot understand her and get very confused. Oana I think is her name. She is so very sweet too but I cannot follow her nor can I follow another lady Pink something she had a tv show in the USA.
I have years and years of yarn and am determined to do as much as I can every day! I was until a family emergency and I did nothing for eight months that I was away! Now I am back and at it!
Thank you for all your lovely tutorials!
