    Correction on the Defelections Stats!
    OG Anunoby averaged 3.2 deflections a game. Matisse Thybulle was actually at 3.1 (of course he only played 20 minutes a game so he's on a different level)
    The league leader was Fred VanVleet with 3.8. (Via NBA.com)

    I love that the best scouting channel on youtube is giving OG his recognition. Great video. Especially with Siakam gone to start. I expect huge things from OG. We already know the defence is all-NBA level, his shooting looks good, his handles so much improved, the athleticism is insane. He has all the tools to put together to be an all-star in the right role.

      Great video - as someone who has maybe missed 5-6 OG games total in his career - I think you completely nailed it. The handles have gotten so much better, but definitely need improvement.
      Needs to stay healthy too.

    With the way Og Ended off the year and without Siakam early on I would actually bet lots of money he is a efficient 20 ppg scorer

    Fantastic video, OG is going to have a huge year, especially with Siakam out for a tiny bit to start. Im shocked you didnt include his best play of the year when he got ejected from the Lakers game.

    What i really like about OG (talking his potencial) is how fluid his shot looks. The form is not perfect but it’s obvious he understands how to translate his momentum off the floor and has a good timing on it. Those kind of instincts are good foundations for a possible eruption really soon.

    Thanks for the great OG video. Hopefully that handle has improved over the summer. I can't wait to see what he looks like this year, there has been a lot of buzz about his work this summer.

    the voters dont make sense he was the best defender in his third year on the team with the second best record in the league and overachieved and they had a top. 2 defense and they got no one and they said as the team was too stacked which is funny as you see teams like the Clippers Sixers Bucks get 3 players

    As an IU fan I love seeing how this kid has developed. Hoosier nation knew this dude would be special in the NBA once he developed his offensive game (too bad Pacers management was blind and afraid to pick the in-state guy). If he can take a big step with his handles it really does vault his game to a whole other level. Excited to see how he does this season, excellent breakdown.

    I think that Anunoby will scare defences this year.
    Possibly Achiuwa as well.
    If one adds to that either VanVleet and Trent
    or VanVleet and Barnes if that works out better
    then opposition defences will find that they won't be able to double team Siakim this year because the other 4 Raptors on the floor will be too dangerous to leave alone.
    Yes, I know that Barnes and maybe Achiuwa too are not the greatest 3 point shooters but there are other things they can do with the ball if the opposition decides to leave them unguarded and then another Raptor passes to them.
    Except for 3 point shooting Siakim's numbers were still really good last year. Let us hope that with Anunoby and Achiuwa taking some of the focus off of him he will do better because he won't feel all the pressure is on him. He still might turn out to be the
    number one option but the way Anunoby is playing this year that won't be such a big burden.
    Hope that Siakim practices passing off to Anunoby or Achiuwa or his other team mates if he has the ball and the defence converges on him. LeBron is so good at that.
    Would be good if Siakim gets better in that department.

    He was leading the league in steals before his injury i expect him or Dejounte to lead the league in steals and win MIP

  • @jehem2239
    @jehem2239 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    With paskal and fred still in the roster he will have a hard time to win the MIP over MPJ (Cause MPJ's situation is more beneficial to him being the second option with no murray) but i still think he will have a significant jump next season.

    • @arshaddahlan
      @arshaddahlan 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Even then, how many points do you think MPJ can average this year? Without dropping his efficency too much

    • @jehem2239
      @jehem2239 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@arshaddahlan i think efficiency will surely drop but i think he'll average at least 25ppg. but all im saying is the point that the situation is different. MPJ will be the second option while OG will at least be the 3rd. its a matter of how significant is there improvement. i just bring up MPJ cause he is my favorite to win this award

      @jovantesobers7789 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jehem2239 mpj second option? Not right now as Jamal is gonna be back soon, mal is the better ball handler which is why he’s the second option unless mpj improves his handle he won’t be the second option

    • @jehem2239
      @jehem2239 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jovantesobers7789 im just saying his situation is better because jamaal wont be playing at least half of the season. and even if he'll comeback he wont be a 100%. so bssically mpj would be the second option most of the season.

    What's your take on OG not having the required mindset (aggression) to take the next step towards becoming a recognized offensive threat?

    • @HoopIntellect
      @HoopIntellect  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I think it’d be premature to say he doesn’t have that mindset when it’s never been his job. He averaged over 19 a game (per 36) without Lowry & Siakam. I think with a different approach (from the coaching staff as well) it’s certainly possible for him to take that next step.
