An 8 score would be more appropriate. Did not expand answers at any stage. It was like a question n answer session . Also, there's no word ' journaling ' in the English language. Seemed to be in a hurry to finish the test. On the whole - a good effort.
Definitely needs a glass of water. She wasn't stammering and spoke very well, it's just the constant crackling in her voice seems like she's about to dive into a violent fit of coughs.
Mam! Your part, as the interviewer, was really terrific but I wanna bring to your notice that you too committed a couple of grammatical errors in your speech when you gave your evaluation of the candidate's performance! You used double comparatives like 'more longer" and " more calmer" which should have been avoided! Hope you understand! Thanks and all the best!
@@manojmohan3862 You are correct Sir! I know it pretty well, too! However, Mam was speaking of grammaticality of the sentences used by the candidates. Hence I arrived at the opinion that it may be an issue of consequence for the participants to be careful about. I have no two words about the the proficiency of the interviewer! Indeed I'm lekker happy and thoroughly enjoyed watching how she conducted the interview! Thanks anyways!
@@khadgam5428, with due respect, I don't think the interviewer has a clear understanding of the IELTS assessment criteria. Just listen to the feedback on pronunciation, and you'll know what I mean. There's no mention of concepts such as connected speech, rhythm or syllables. Similarly, when discussing the test taker's vocabulary use, the interviewer doesn't talk about collocations at all, which is a key area that IELTS examiners focus on to determine whether a test taker has just learnt up vocabulary for the test. I don't mean to disrespect anyone, but this video should ideally have a detailed analysis of the test taker's performance, with examples of good and poor language use.
This candidate wouldn't be rated an 8.5 in the actual IELTS test because she'd need to be rated a band 9 in at least 2 of the 4 parameters. And to be rated a band 9 in any of the criteria, you'd have to be almost perfect, making just occasional slips. It's disappointing that there's no explanation as to how the interviewer arrived at this score. That said, this video is a clear example of how IELTS trainers in India often rate students - they give the test taker a band score based on the overall impression they make, which is not how it is done in the actual test. Also, the interviewer mispronounced a number of words - content, coherence and pronunciation (wrong word stress) are the ones I can remember off the cuff.
"In compared to" is WRONG. in comparison to. Is the correct way. ALSO sounds unnatural and sounds like answers have been rehearsed. Well done for fooling IELTS learners 🤔

Hi Admin, Could you please give us a breakdown of this test taker's speaking score: Fluency & coherence? Lexical resource? Grammatical range & accuracy? Pronunciation?
Hey! Thanks for watching the video. However, we follow multiple parameters in accordance with British Council guidelines at the time of giving feedback. Regards, Team Leap!
You are missing the woods for the trees. She is able to put her ideas across effectively and effortlessly. Go to hell with your vocabulary and advance connectors. The criteria are just guidelines. They are not to be followed religiously and ridiculously. Your comment shows that you need some basic lessons in grammar before arrogating yourself to the position of a judge. It's definitely a 9 for me.
Content related hesitation accepted in 9 band checklist provided by IDP therefore compares with them instead asking someone else. Indeed we can become 80 % examiner just simply learn all criteria available on IDP site ( band discripter).
In general, stammering will definitely affect your speaking band scores, but speaking with detailed explanations will indubitably compensate for that loss. Regards, Team Leap!
Jishnu, I have seen a couple of persons overcoming the problem and becoming very confident speakers. Very often it is a psychological thing which can be tackled in a supportive environment. Alternatively, you could inform the examiner or the organisation about your problem and request them to factor it in while evaluating your performance. If you have obtained a certificate of your difficulty from the competent authority, you can submit the same to them. I am sure they will grant some concessions to a differently abled persons. Have courage and confidence. This isn't a major hurdle at all. All the best.
Yes! of course, you can and again and again looking at cue card never bothers the examiner as eye contact is not that necessary in 2 part of your speaking session ❤️
You can keep looking at your notes while you speak. Please also keep the task card where you can see it clearly - if you ever dry up before the 2 minutes are over, you can look at the prompts (fragments that begin with Wh- words) and identify something new to say. Test rules clearly state that the examiner can collect your note pad and task card only after Part 2 draws to a close. Good luck! 🙂

I really feel that the candidate was not using any vocubalry and any advance connectors ,then how she became able to achieve 8.5 bands ?
What do you mean by advanced vocabulary? In my opinion, she used relevant vocabulary based on the questions.
