Spot on review. Watched this for my second time. I'm watching UPS "follow my delivery" as mine is getting closer to being delivered today! Excited, but like you mentioned, the wait time on this was insane. Every fellow reviewer I've seen review this basically says the same thing, One of the Best to date, even with the few quirks, like size of base etc. I've been a Sideshow fan for 8 years, then got introduced to Cool Props, and Finally Prime 1. Was a logical transition reflecting taste and budget. As you know the longer you collect, the more selective you become about quality vs quantity. As long as the budget is there, Prime 1 leads the pack in terms of consistency with quality and most of the time the Prototypes they show to encourage the PO are usually what you get, sometimes the released product is better. I lost tract of how many times the Prototypes from other companies blew away the actual collectible, which is always a heartbreaking moment for me. When you wait 1 typically 12- 18 months to get something, nothing worse then the moment when it fails to live up to expectations, or it's broken. I'm glad that Prime 1 took over on this. Cool Props is solid, but often I feel the paint job on the finished piece is night and day from the protoypes. I could be wrong, but I thought that Cool Props had designed this, and then some snag or delay happened and Prime 1 came in and took over, refining the design.

After UPS conducted a random inspection of one of my statues that they deemed suspicious I never used them again. I have a Fed Ex only option checked over at SideShow

DHL opened my Prime 1 Zodd I think. No damage though so all good.
Yikes. UPS likes kicking packages. No offense to good UPS employees. And FedEX likes to hold packages hostage at local facilities. I don't know what's worse. USPS loves to price gouge dimensional weight. I don't trust DHL for reliability. They're not all bad, but when issues arise, it can feel like your big purchases can go down the gutter with no support from customer service.

My brother had a Alien 3 Dog statue from years ago back when the movie has released. Unfortunately the back leg of the Alien Dog broke off at the hip, but it could easily be glued back on but my brother couldn't be bothered fixing it so he threw it away as he didn't want it anymore lol. But looking at Prime 1 studio statues I'm amazed how much detail has improved over the years with statues and that Alien3 Dog statue we had years ago is almost nothing compared to the texture detail Prime 1 studios has done with this 1/3 scale one which is waaay better looking. I too have 2 Prime 1 studio statues on PO which are deluxe versions and wishlisted a 3rd statue which yet to be PO. But its my first time getting 1/4 scale statues and little worried on how its going to be shipped and getting hit with duty fees along the way.
Oh yeah.. The statue collectibles game has stepped up exponentially. Anything before 2017-2018 has already started looking dated. I'm glad I started collecting again in 2020. At the same time, I missed out on some beautiful pieces like Custom X-Men statues and Berserk Griffith Helmet EX. It's a great time to be a statue collector, though.
I missed out on the deluxe version. I got the regular dog. I’ve been searching everywhere for the deluxe head, no luck yet.
This thing is beautiful love pose love color and the gritiness of base right on target .Totaly worth price , win all the way.

I like the color on this more than the traditional all black. For me, all black is boring. I’m thinking about getting the Alien Warrior Mythos from sideshow because I like the pose, color, and the manageable size... I know people don’t like the statue but I really like the pose, brownish color, and it’s dome. I just wish it was glossy and it wasn’t $950.

What a beautiful piece, this is the best Alien statue ever made and it will be quite a while until we see another company that will try and beat this Alien. I had the money to buy this piece but when I read the size of this statue on the sideshow site, I had to pass as there's no way I could display this. This is one of your better statues for sure.
Wait for the XM alien statue coming out next year..I think that one will beat this one for sure
@@alberto-gj5oi I don't think it will because the paint apps are over complicated and it's going to be hard for the painters in the factories to replicate the original artists work.

Awesome piece! I don't agree about your comment regarding the base. I think the base has just enough width and depth to comfortably fit the character.

First of all, Aliens is also my favorite movie, cheers! Secondly, glad hulk is delayed then you could review this monster piece first. So amazed for the paint and all those details. It’s definitely a scale X for me! Thanks Mr.X for another super great review!
The creature in alien 3 wasn’t cgi. It was a puppet. There was one CGI shot where the alien head cracks and it’s the cracks that are CG. And a couple of compositing shots which were done digitally rather than optically. Common misconception.

Thank you Mr X! This is definitely a masterful piece and the best review I've seen of it yet. A few things that I think could have been better. I don't like how they went solid black with the gums or the black over spray on the teeth. They definitely could have put more attention to detail there. On the front of the dome on both heads, I think they could have blended the black into the dome better, faded it a little farther back. The base, while cool, is kind of bland. Casting the pipes, plates and lights 24:34 separately and then gluing them in place themselves, to give it more depth. Casting the lights clear, with real metal grating over them, etc. Still, an excellent piece that I too hope to pick up.
I recently had one of my figure art box fucked up by the customs and I was horrified when I saw it.For statues better go via plane and pick it up Mr X much cheaper
UPS SUCKS. this is exactly why I have my packages dropped off at the store. Went through this mess before a couple of times, and vowed to never go through it again. Great video btw Mr X.

The dog alien lends itself so well to statues. This piece is off the charts.
Sadly, I don't like Alien 3 enough to invest in a piece like this.
Always a dilemma when it's an amazing piece from something that wasn't that great.
Wish you would have put the scorpion next to him so we could see how they scale.. my favorite film is aliens but favorite design is the Big Chap so super excited about the new prime 1 statue coming out in 2020
Aliens was a great movie but I also really liked Prometheus even though it does not get much love. As far as this statue....very impressive !!

I sold something and he had this same problem with UPS and me to because I am waiting on a replacement part. These going to say these I have aspergers and how much I get shit on at my job because of that is crazy but I don't mind to work I really don't. But the people that are good at talking to people are the ones that stay working for the company and then problems like this happens. Most/All jobs in the U.S. you need to be a good talker first and a good worker 2nd. All work place problems can be fixed if people would these work.

Great review, love that Hulk, ..and keep on ranting! There is nothing more frustrating than waiting on a piece that's late and the shipping company is negligent...and they never have a good answer, its usually something to cover up their negligence. Been there, done that, btw Aliens is the best movie of the franchise, but that's just my opinion. #notthatitmatters
