Share the video around. I think a lot of people aren't aware of this model and fir first Ace offerings were much more focused on casual riding so perhaps its being overlooked. This car is fun stock.
The Ace 900 XC is a big step forward for single seat sport UTV. It needs to be a lot sportier looking like its RS1 cousin. The width would be better nearer 55”. The roll cage would be better more squared up instead looking pointy at the top. I will buy a single seater in 2020 and I hope Honda will jump into this game by then. If not this model will be in my garage. Great review, keep them coming.
I would love to see more of the 900 xc , we have been holding off on buying two of these until they got better. What I see in this video they have gotten better, we would love to learn more about this machine. Thank you for making this video.
Finally, been looking for an XC 900 review! If you get your hands on another one do you think you could do a side by side comparison with the old model for interior room? I'm 6'6" and on the old version my knees were jammed into the dash. I don't know if that extra 10% will make a difference. I'd really like a SXS and have looked at the RZR 900S but even that is tight. I'd have to remove the centre dash storage box and trim a few inches of the dash that hangs down beside it as well. I hope Polaris adds a few inches of leg room to the next RZR chassis and incorporates a removable dead pedal, there are a lot of us tall guys out there who need the knee and foot room!
They're claiming 10% more leg room. If we order another one to test we will jump in both at the dealer and let you know how the cabin room compares. Thanks for watching!
I really like the progression of the Ace. I thought it was a good idea. I'm thinking about getting one, for when I want to go out alone (without the wife) I really like the room in them, and I am a really big guy. Might pull the trigger on it this year. I'd like to see them make a production high lifter edition. I'd like to see you guys do a video on that too. Keep the videos coming on these, maybe put one in the bed of a truck, I was wondering how easy that would be. Thanks for the vid.
Now that I've had a full season in my ACE 570 and managed to get six or seven laps on a slow day out of the Polaris folks last summer, (at the course they had set up at Full Throttle during the Sturgis rally) in the RZR-RS1. I have come away thinking the ACE 900 XC suits me better just because (1) it has a little storage space. (2) The RZR-RS1 is a full out race machine, and I loved it, make no mistake, but I don't have the skill level to take either one to their full potential anyway. After a lifetime of motorized toys, a man must know his limitations, and know when to back off a bit! Note; unless someone comes out with one, I will copy the double brake pedal design on the RS1 and build it into the ACE so I can do the two foot driving, was nice on the RS1.
Rzr1000 owner here, I love my big machine but I really would like to have a smaller single seater for each one of my family members as my kids get older. We all ride dirt bikes but I think the ace is a cool car. Please more info we may be looking to buy one in a few short years
Personally... I feel The 900 Prostar is an EXCELLENT addition to the ACE Lineup, but at least for me. I was looking into these because I have little to no interest in using it as a utility vehicle or for hunting and because of that I LOVE BIG BORE TORQUE. When my friends and I decide to break out the wheelers and spend the day on a trail. We go hard from unloading the trailer to putting the machines back on the trailer. I LOVE my buddy's 900 RZR Trail and my other friend has a modified Wildcat Trail that is awesome. Unlike them, I however, have a wife that is terrified to go riding with us and so I have no need for a vehicle with an extra seat. So naturally, I like the idea of the Single Seat ACE line of vehicles. However, with that being said...ALL of the trails we hit are Class 1 rated trails and most are off limits to Class 2 vehicles The side by sides can be very hard to get through some of the tight turns. Sometimes requiring stopping and executing a 3 point turn. I currently have a stock 2013 Polaris Scrambler 850 XP that I love but was considering trading in for a 900 ACE. But being a Class 2 vehicle. I can't do it. I'm fine with them offering a Class 2 option but I think it should also be offered in a class 1 version as well since you can get the RZR with a 900 in a class 1 size. Even in XC trim no less. Oh well...I'm probably just whining and I'm sure someone will accuse me of trolling. For the record though. If I lived in Montana or the Dakotas where there are plenty of wide open fields to rip through...I would be on this thing like stink on shit and I'd probably even turbocharge it. But in Minnesota. many trails are not accessible and even off limits to class 2 vehicles. And the ones that are accessible to class 2's are what we like to call watered down. Because they don't have any of the technical skill runs with steep hills, rock climbing or mud pits. So I guess I'll just be trading my Scrambler in for a Scrambler XP 1000 at the end of next season.
Polaris did make a 50" wide Ace 900 in 2016. You might find one left that you can score a deal on. Of-course, the Scrambler 1000 is pretty sweet. Our ATV channel will be doing a review on the updated Sportsman 1000 in a month or so. That machine got some added power and a nice list of significant updates.
Don't mean to be critical, but I didn't care for the guy doing the review. But as far as the content, I think he was spot on. I test drove an Ace 570 and I thought it was mediocre at best. And the 900 having basically the same build I was disappointed. Now this machine looks fun. I could really get into this. Please do more on the Ace machines please.
I don't know if you were talking about my voice or Allens face. I will try and work on my voice and ask him to work on his face just to make sure. Either way, if this video gets a decent amount of views and more requests we will do more content on this vehicle. Thanks for watching.
No worries. Allen just says what he thinks. As a former pro three wheeler racer, quad racer, UTV racer, plus decades of race machine building, and magazine testing experience he comes off a little authoritative. We like working with him because he has the experience to back it up. . Even if he comes off like an ass. :)
If you're talking about the 2016 570 We're pretty sure the suspension is basically the same. We have heard that the 570's more potent engine helps make the suspension feel a little more plush due to the extra thrust. We will be filming a project video on a 2016 Ace 570 in the near future with some Walker Evans upgrades that made a big difference.
I almost went with the previous model but really wasn't impressed with the suspension setup being more like my polaris 500's quad so didn't get it but now this is a game changer for me this xc900 has a rzr inspired suspension so I'll definitely be getting a 2017 xc900 and can't wait, hopefully soon the aftermarket and long travel suspension will follow
I would really like to see a video on a canvas can on this vehicle because there are only a few but none actually own a canvas cab they just find picture I would really like an opinion on one
I would like to know if others think that the steering ratio feels right. It seems like too much turning of the wheel to make a small amount of movement with the vehicle.
I got mine today . Your review is dead on ! I LOVE IT !!!!!!!! It is a total blast to drive . I'm 6ft 1 and there is a lot of leg room compared to a 900 sp . I love the display and having to choice of red or blue . The car is fantastic!!!
Jeff D thank you very much for the feedback on ourreview. We're thrilled to hear that you're enjoying your new machine. of course, thanks for watching.
Torn between the 900XC and the RZR-RS1..... Upgrading from a ACE 570.... The 900XC 'seems' more my style, as we do sightseeing, trail riding (wife has her own ACR 570) and no racing. The RS1 apparently has no storage at all for a cooler or small duffle... Kinda important, altho I put everything on her ACE in the Polaris trunk...
just so you know, we will be releasing a ace 570 SP project test in the next 10 days that has a number of modifications that would make a big difference on your ass as well. if you're interested, subscribe so you don't miss it. As far as any of the mods on your 325 carrying over to the 900 XC we are not sure. check out Polaris accessories on their website and see if any of the item numbers are the same between the two cars.
OK what was wrong with the 16 model other than supposed power? I mean we have a 16 ace and it can go on the 50" trails which you need something for 50" trails or you just bought a paper weight.
Power isn't the big deal on the new ace. the extra width and 50% more front and 33% more rear suspension travel allow you do carry a lot more speed through turns and on rough sections of trail. with all of the UTVs taking over 50" trails are becoming less and less common. If you want a single-seat UTV for 50" trails your 2016 is the only way to go. For those who overlooked the Ace due to its limited width and suspension performance, the new Ace is very attractive. In case your interested have an upcoming project test on a 2016 Ace 570 with a number of upgrades, including new Walker Evans suspension.
We will ask Allen if he recalls how fast he got it going. We were obviously driving in some wide open terrain and I am not sure if he ever got it fully tapped out.
I am pretty sure that Bull Run Ranch is not open to the public. It's unfortunate, this video didn't touch the beautiful scenery available in the mountains around the ranch.
I do like the concept of the Ace. Me personally coming a back ground of dirt bikes and four wheelers, I would rather have this setup in the Polaris Sportsman 900 fourwheeler. With that setup you would still be able to adjust your weight in all directions. How was the stability of the wider/longer foot print?
The stability of the machine was greatly improved. The improvement in suspension travel and quality just adds to it. Although our test was admittedly brief.
If your trails are limited to 50 inches in width this machine won't fit. If you are riding on jeep trails, UTV trails, any place a RZR 1000 can ride, the ACE XC would fit. it's 60" wide. They do offer 50" wide Aces for narrower trails.
Interesting the first I heard about the new ace is through utv on demand. I thought for sure polaris would be pushing this new model more. Thanks for the review and it will be interesting to see where this market goes. It looks like it is almost on par now with the old honda pilots from the late 80's. ;-)
Glad we could introduce you to the new Ace. Guess Polaris comes out with so many new things each year that they can't even market them all. We're not sure how much attention previous Ace models have been getting at dealers. This Ace is definitely worth some attention.
this machine looks really sick and I would trade my renegade any day for it but I would get the skinnier one so I can fit in the same trails I usually do. looks Hella fun tho!
@@DKINTHEWILD okay, gotcha. Well, we are waiting on a break and whether to film a few machines for the ATV on Demand. We have a 2019 KingQuad 500 and 750. We will be reviewing the 500 by itself then doing a head to head comparison between it and the 750 to check the difference in performance for the thousand dollars difference in price. We are also reviewing the 2019 Outlander 1000 XMR. Once we get through the rest of the 2019 models this might be a good idea for 2020 which starts early summer for new models.
It seems that getting 12-13 inches of suspension travel is difficult on a 50 inch wide machine. Walker Evans Racing have some shocks for the narrower Aces that make a pretty big difference in performance. They wont turn them into whoop pounding monsters but they make a substantial difference out on the trail. Here's a link to our Ace Project featuring them. th-cam.com/video/dBzq25BZces/w-d-xo.html
I like old experienced assholes! Because I myself am reminded of such throughout my day... Years ago, I got out of my 800 Rzr due to so much neck pain or what I'd classify as mild whip lash. Even after upgrading my suspension to all custom Elka, trying to relive my first time ever witnessing Steve McQueen run the Baja, well, my lil two seater was my version of poor boys on a budget race toy. But 97% of my riding was one making handling (center of gravity) a horrid experience during lead in approach to an upcoming tight right course change at speed. I was seriously looking for comparisons with the drivers center of gravity positioning thereby having more fun on twisting trail to include sudden braking if overdriving a bit into the corner. I am 61, I am not trying to sound like some stripped ass 16 yr old ape I once was.... Whiplash, how in your opinion did the machine handle during the bobbing back and fourth motion I hate so much in the desert? As an old seasoned off hiway adventurer, I think serious discussion needs to come into play. Sort of a how it was historically to where we as a highly populated OHV nation we've become. As the government is forcing licensed vehicles into directions I find despicable, what and how is all this going to affect the OHV industry. Of course another serious negative is governmental controls over riding ares.
UTVonDemand what's the point of a side by side if it only has one seat, that's like the main reason people get them, it's just a big vehicle that you cannot affect by body movement unlike a atv
Probably the fact that it's not a side by side. If you don't like it, then it's not for you. There will be plenty of people who will buy them and love them. We were out the other day and talkin to a dude who was hurt on deployment in Afghanistan and had really limited strength in his core, meaning he couldn't ride a bike or quad anymore. The Ace 570 was a life saver for him. He was depressed as hell before buying his Ace and damn near ready to give up on everything. Said he was stoked as hell again finally that he could get back out on the trails
Based on our brief test it seemed like it could be a lot of fun on a UTV track with long, smooth takeoff ramps although its shorter wheelbase won't let it pound whoops as well as a longer suspended RZR XP. It has pretty good ground clearance and Polaris' quicker engaging all-wheel-drive so we'd expect it to pick its way through mud pretty well.
We felt the 900 was a bit much for the narrow chassis and suspension. Fortunately, the new 570 has a dual A-arm front end. It should handle a bit better.
We would love to see Honda come out with a new single seater. What was cool about the old pilot was it you can flip it over without destroying any body work. You would pretty much rest on the wheels and the cage. These new single seaters will cost you $1,000 every time you have a decently hard tip over.
Honda pilot. Polaris is late 20 years later and still not as good as Honda. It drives me crazy when people say Polaris was the first single seater when Honda did it in the 80s. Back then men were men and rode bikes and 3 wheelers. Now days everyone has to be safe with a cage. Men became woman and woman are more manly than men especially men with beards. Side by sides cost way to much. Men just compensating for their tiny members and showing off their money. If I was spending that kind of money I would at least build it myself with a real engine. I do like the ace. Be perfect for my handicap wife or the children to ride.
Not being an ass, i am looking for a reasonable explanation why you would purchase an ace instead of a two seater rzr. Ive owned bikes, wheelers, and utvs. To me the fun is going with people. for how expensive the Ace is, why not get a two seater? Unless you are racing it or something i can see the Ace having advantage, but thats about it.
Terry Jonson we definitely can't say for sure, but judging on Polaris past efforts we would strongly suspect that this vehicle will be coming either next model year or the following. they produced a sportsman 850 ATV followed by the 1000. They released the XP 900 followed buy the RZR XP 1000. when they released the new RZR S 900 a couple years back it was follow the next model year buy a RZR S 1000. So yeah, we expect an ace 1000 sooner rather than later.
IT is a damn shame that Polaris eliminated the 50 inch wide 2017 900 Ace . What are our mountain riders going to do for legal riding? Go to another make of machine?
Easy to see how public trails get closed... When people drive them like this guy (shortcutting corners, drifting them out wider, etc...) in sensitive areas it doesn't take long to ruin a good thing. I realize this review was done on private property, but, that style of driving should be reserved for closed courses and private property. No place for it on public mountain trails. IMO.
For 50" ATV trails yes but most trails are being cut between 60" and 64" these days for side-by-sides. the Scrambler XC has plenty of room to operate on most modern trails.
Two words, MORE PLEASE! Cant believe more people haven't shown interest in the 900xc.
Share the video around. I think a lot of people aren't aware of this model and fir first Ace offerings were much more focused on casual riding so perhaps its being overlooked. This car is fun stock.
Now, that's a great review. thanks for pointing out the good, bad and ugly. thanks again
Thanks for the feedback and for watching.
the video was amazing and it would be awesome if you guys made another video of the Ace 2017 900
keep it up
got my xc this weekend huge improvement over the last ace 900
Please keep us posted on how you like it.
Good review. I agree this is what they should have come out with in the first place.
Thanks for the feedback and for watching.
Yes...wanna see more on the 900xc.
More Ace videos would be awesome
We have a project coming your way soon on a 2016 570 and hope to do more on the 900 XC.
I would like to see on trail testing against the Polaris RS1.
That would be an interesting video.
The Ace 900 XC is a big step forward for single seat sport UTV. It needs to be a lot sportier looking like its RS1 cousin. The width would be better nearer 55”. Thanks! We would love another go-round with a 900 XC. Will be curious to see if this model returns in 2020. We hope so.
I would love to see more of the 900 xc , we have been holding off on buying two of these until they got better. What I see in this video they have gotten better, we would love to learn more about this machine. Thank you for making this video.
Thanks for watching. Yes, this is a whole other animal than the original Ace models. I am pretty sure we will wind up doing more on this machine.
Thanks a bunch, you guys are doing a great job.

I love this it's so fun, I'm so happy Polaris made it, cause I always wanted something like this since I rode a 3 wheeler back I'm 89
Honda pilot
I would like to know if others think that the steering ratio feels right. It seems like too much turning of the wheel to make a small amount of movement with the vehicle.
It’s better that way then the other way where the wheel turns fully at the littlest turn
I cant wait till mine comes in ordered it three weeks ago it should be in november 10th .
Woohoo
That's awesome. Please keep us posted on how you like it.
I got mine today .
Your review is dead on !

Jeff D thank you very much for the feedback on ourreview. We're thrilled to hear that you're enjoying your new machine. of course, thanks for watching.
I'm happy for you my dad said I'm getting mine not yet but soon
Jeff D which website did u order yours on
Does the first ace tip a little bit on corners
Ethan Pillard the narrow where Aces can get a bit tipsy and corners. The 900 XC stays planted pretty well.
have you ever thought about making a bigger bed on the ace that people can have fun on it and also be abul to have a utility vehicle

WHAT ABOUT SALE IN GREECE?
I have ace 325 sportman I love it Please keep giving more up dates will the roof and box bumpers windshield from mine fit the new one ?

Can you comment on this 2017 Ace 900 top speed??
We will ask Allen if he recalls how fast he got it going. We were obviously driving in some wide open terrain and I am not sure if he ever got it fully tapped out.
Mark S I got 74mph
Don Knicker wow
As a UTV enthusiast, are such private ranches available for out of staters to rv camp and have fun trail riding for a fee?
I am pretty sure that Bull Run Ranch is not open to the public. It's unfortunate, this video didn't touch the beautiful scenery available in the mountains around the ranch.

What size pro armor wheels and tires are they?
I'd like to see you guys flog this thing around on some wooded trails like you did with the rzr s 1000. Looks like it would be a blast
What the Accessories can you put on it
Does it look like you could change or add a extension for the break pedal
maybe you can show us the ace 900 xc on trails and maybe some rock ?
We would love to get it in some more technical terrain ourselves.
how about the width??? will it go where a quad can as far as size??
If your trails are limited to 50 inches in width this machine won't fit. If you are riding on jeep trails, UTV trails, any place a RZR 1000 can ride, the ACE XC would fit. it's 60" wide. They do offer 50" wide Aces for narrower trails.
Like to see more on ace 900xc
Interesting the first I heard about the new ace is through utv on demand. I thought for sure polaris would be pushing this new model more. Thanks for the review and it will be interesting to see where this market goes. It looks like it is almost on par now with the old honda pilots from the late 80's. ;-)
Glad we could introduce you to the new Ace. Guess Polaris comes out with so many new things each year that they can't even market them all. We're not sure how much attention previous Ace models have been getting at dealers. This Ace is definitely worth some attention.
this machine looks really sick and I would trade my renegade any day for it but I would get the skinnier one so I can fit in the same trails I usually do. looks Hella fun tho!
how much do one of these cost? how fast?
I’d really like to see more videos on the Ace
I'm taking you up on the quote "tell us what you want to see I would like to see a new 2019 atv 450 shoot out can-am, Polaris, honda, suzuki & so on
We did one of those on our ATV Channel back in 2010. Nothing has changed. We do have a bunch of sport content coming this spring over on ATV on demand
I think I saw that one I wasn't specific I was thinking the Outlander, rancher, king quad, but in a trail not ranch application thanks though
Once we get through the rest of the 2019 models this might be a good idea for 2020 which starts early summer for new models.
make a video on the 1990 honda pilot.
We'd love to if we could find someone in our area with a really nice one willing to let us take it for a spin.
What is the max speed?
where do you get it is a car .oh well to each his on great video
It's much better suspended but the extra inches of width would keep me from buying. This is due to most of the trails around me are 50" wide trails
Wish I had one… but I absolutely love my 1999 Polaris Sportsman 500
That's one cool ride.
Nice im 6'5 my self and was wondering about the space in these carts. glad to hear I should fit lol
Gonna be a little tight but we think you'll fit.
good to hear. unfortunately most things in life are built only for people 6' and under.
what tire are those on it
Joe Thompson GBC Dirt Commander
What about low speed crawling. The 900 rzr were jerry at crawling speeds.
I want to see more ACE!
Right on.
Jay Moto well, they do make very good power steering for atvs :P
How would it do on a track?
And in the mud
Based on our brief test it seemed like it could be a lot of fun on a UTV track with long, smooth takeoff ramps although its shorter wheelbase won't let it pound whoops as well as a longer suspended RZR XP. It has pretty good ground clearance and Polaris' quicker engaging all-wheel-drive so we'd expect it to pick its way through mud pretty well.
Nice machine but disappointing for us that ride 50" trails. Guess I'm stuck with a 570 now. Lol
We felt the 900 was a bit much for the narrow chassis and suspension. Fortunately, the new 570 has a dual A-arm front end. It should handle a bit better.
Polaris Ace 900 или POLARIS RZR900 или Brp Maverick trail dps 1000
Ace or Rs1 ...cant decide...
If you're shopping new I don't think they make this anymore so that should make it easy. Rs1.
Where is Honda’s version????
Lol I just bought a motorcycle. Now I want one of these. Nice review by the way.
I'll hold out. There will definitely be a 1000
*Waits for 1000 Turbo* I'm right there with ya!
Annnnnd its here
Not being an ass, i am looking for a reasonable explanation why you would purchase an ace instead of a two seater rzr. Ive owned bikes, wheelers, and utvs. To me the fun is going with people. for how expensive the Ace is, why not get a two seater? Unless you are racing it or something i can see the Ace having advantage, but thats about it.
Same reason the wife has her own Harley, she has her own ACE. She likes to drive. Fine with me!
2018 ace 1000?
Terry Jonson we definitely can't say for sure, but judging on Polaris past efforts we would strongly suspect that this vehicle will be coming either next model year or the following. they produced a sportsman 850 ATV followed by the 1000. They released the XP 900 followed buy the RZR XP 1000. when they released the new RZR S 900 a couple years back it was follow the next model year buy a RZR S 1000. So yeah, we expect an ace 1000 sooner rather than later.
Let's see this baby go through some mud and climb some rocky terrain👍
IT is a damn shame that Polaris eliminated the 50 inch wide 2017 900 Ace . What are our mountain riders going to do for legal riding? Go to another make of machine?
Alan Knowles! Been in the game for a long time
He's a seasoned vet.
i wanna see a mud build of this
id like one those my sell 570 and save up
Nice, but it probably doesn’t go very far on its 5.25 gallon fuel tank.
You might be right. We didn't have long enough to evaluate fuel millage.
UTVonDemand can't be much different than the first Ace 900 I would get around 100 miles on a tank with mine.
It does have a single throttle body instead of two like the RZR 900 and 10 less horsepower. This may help the engine save a bit on fuel.
I have same size on my sportsman 800 and I don’t get very far. Maybe 70 miles. But I’m usually holding it wide open riding with dirt bikes.
Good Polaris 🐆
Impressive!
got mine yesterday whoooo hooo
Why do buggies from 30 years ago look so much better? These manufacturers need to step up their game.
aye montana represent
Can you get it in some mud.... Please
If we order a test unit we will look into dunking it for you.
Get me a test unit and I will do it for you 😆
Cool car.
I want one
This is awesome...
Glad you liked it!
Every time he says CAR. Take a drink !
We will keep this in mind for future videos. If we can keep our viewers drinking we can keep them watching.
u crazy as hell if u think the 2016 weren't any good, I giggled like a school girl on it, and that's what its all about!
pointless utv for eastcoast trails 570trail and 900trail do the job but if u live in the desert with desert trails good machine
Sad this thing sucks he keeps saying its good how much u pay him only thing good is the suspension !!!
I would kill the music!
IMO.
We agree, you should not overshoot and cut corners on public land. Like you mentioned, this was filmed on private property.
🤔
Practically a quad with a steering wheel. UTVs have taken over trails. I much prefer seeing proper homemade buggies over these knock offs.
Why do you prefer the homemade buggies? Why are modern side-by-sides knockoffs?
This wider
the guy who says the specs sounds like that crimal show
Sorry, just being me.
No need to be sorry i just had to laugh, good info though!!
this narrators voice sounds ridiclious how he ends each sentence
MidnightPolaris800 I hear that from time to time. Not sure what I'm doing exactly I'll try to be better.
It is to wide
For trails
For 50" ATV trails yes but most trails are being cut between 60" and 64" these days for side-by-sides. the Scrambler XC has plenty of room to operate on most modern trails.
Don't like the one seater
To me it looks like a special needs vehicle. For someone wheelchair bound. Sorry it just does.
That could be another use for it.
It ugly
Ugly roll cage .
We bet there will be a least a few companies building roll cages for these.
Yes I seen a few, but Polaris should get a clue. Nice machine otherwise.
Forgot to mention. Good review as always.
We're glad you took the time to check it out.
468th like
To wide,
Way to expensive...
I want one
