- Such a good little fishing session using the savage gear rat! I only bought this one the day before after I broke my last one, didnt have high hopes for catching much with the poor weather and not much time to fish but luckily it turned out to be the opposite!
stuff used -
rod -daiwa prorex
reel - okuma komodo 364
braid - spiderwire stealth 90lbs
leader - savage gear regenerator 168lbs
lure - savage gear 3D Rad 20cm

I come back to watch this video to remind myself that it can catch fish. Had no luck with mine yet. The fishing on the Kennet and Avon canal has been really quiet the last couple of months for pike and perch. Every lure, colour, size and shape from surface to slow jigging and not had a pike over 3 pounds or a perch over 1 pound for ages. Starting to take it personally.

I've caught my best fish on crazy windy days. I think it stirs the pike up. I've also had so many misses with this lure.

April and May where in fire for pike here in Ireland but it's gone very silent of late. Just looking for something that'll make em bite a bit more frequent.
Mate what a session, I bought a sg rat lure a few days back , going to take it to me local river Saturday morning , what sort of temperature were you fishing in , I find they don't hit top lures when its cool 🤷♂️

Nice 1 mate I'm too tight to spend the doe on the lures I got a savage gear set for perch for a tenner as far as il go. I do have a Chinese 7 jointed roache waiting to be tested .2quid on amazon
I’ve got a few very similar lures to the one you describe and have caught pike up to 15lbs on mine. I’ve found that if you gently flick them they’ll roll and sink like a dying fish and the takes can be savage, often from right under your feet - thrilling stuff 👍🏻
Down here anything shiny/roach like multijointed works like a charm! Tight lines man

Pike dont feed in rain? Pike dont give a damn about the rain, they are already wet. If a pike is hungry "oh no its raining... cant eat" or england winter 2019/2020... pike didnt eat for 3 month? No i call that BS. Great fishing pal, realy good fishing. Not everyone can say they had 100 pike from a river on lure.... keep it up pal
In my country - Croatia, when you see dark clouds and rain - rush to Lake. In my experience I got much more bites in bad weather and rain than in bright sunny days. It seams over here drop in atmosfere pressure and bad weather incoming is trigger for feeding. I got buy this rat 🐀
