Yes, the names have to match. I was in the same situation when I applied for my permanent residence last year. I changed my name on my passport and I was told to first change the name on my Zairyu card as well before I submit my application 🙂🙂

I’m assuming with the corona outbreak, that things have might’ve changed. Because with my visa I wasn’t able to renew it to 3 years even though it’s the third time I’ve been to immigration and were in our 3rd year of marriage. And we try to make sure that we’re really prepared especially asking the clerks and making notes of what we need next time. That didn’t seem to really work for us as well. I literally just went to the Shinagawa office last week and I received a one-year visa, again. I’m not sure this affects everyone , but even though I am from a Western country I only got one year, though I’ve been here over 5years. Most of which I was single. Has anyone else had the same problem? It’s something I’ve been wondering about especially since I know staff at the immigration office won’t be able to tell me even if I asked. It’s such a bother, especially when I could more easily get a work visa for 3 years before.

JTlog hi. Ang naka state dapat daw six months but honestly, sa pag renew ko twice always yung luma yung gunagamit ko nd wala namang problema so far. Sana okay lang din in your case.
