I am Jill, a Filipina mom living in Yokohama, Japan.
After almost five years of dating, I married my Japanese boyfriend in 2016 and left everything behind to start a new life in Japan. What I thought would be nothing but an effortless adventure filled with sushi feasts and Shibuya nights turned out to be a bit more difficult than I expected.
I created this TH-cam channel to help out other clueless gaijins out there tackle the more challenging aspects of life in Japan - such as learning the language, being a foreign parent and, well, choosing the best sanitary napkin.

6 Easy Steps to Clean Your Washing Machine in Japan
You posted this video 4y ago and I just want to say thank you so much! I just moved to Japan and am about to wash for the first time and was getting overwhelmed. However your video explains things perfectly.
1st ko po mag renew mag wa 1 yr na po aq at maiexpire na rin yun visa q after 3 mons. Pag mag renew po ba aq ng residence card need ko rin magrenew ng visa na nakadikit sa passport ?
You don't actually have to rinse dishes before putting them in the dishwasher, just scrape leftover bits of food off the dishes with a butter knife then put them in the dishwasher, if a dish doesn't have bits of leftover food on it the it is unnecessary and can just be put in the dishwasher as is.
Should i let the “ 24hr ventilation “ turned on?
I wanted the 10th anniversary design last year but I was still a student so I couldn’t apply 🥹😭
thank you so much for this guide!
Your video is exceedingly useful. Now I understand the priority system for temperature control between the kitchen and the bathroom. Thank you so much.
You're a great help.. Thank you.. You explained it well🥰♥️
I need this in my US home!
Awesome 😮😮😮
すごいな〜
Do you use the whole bottle?

How do you know if the application is accepted or rejected?
Beautiful 👌
I don't have a kanji name. What should i do? Hiragana and katana don't work
Japanese people would never be happy when I am in pain. They love me. And I love them back
9:50 these "good" magazines
Nice Music ! Sounds likle Mali MUsic !!! What is it ??? Arigatou !
Thank you for the informative video. I have a question about the point calculation. Let's say, a person obtained PhD degree from a Japanese University. Then, how much point will he get? For having a PhD: 30 Points. Will he get the bonus 10 points for graduating from a Japanese university or for completing a course from graduate school of Japanese University?
Should you please share the list for us with the documents listed that were missing? That would be so helpful.
How can i swch it off permanently

Hi! I'm just curious... If you could choose now... Would you still choose the Shin Kanzen Master Series over the Nihongo Sou Matome Series?
Is amazon prime shipping fee features work when I am not in Japan and ordering books from Japan amazon? I’ve tried using the Japan amazon prime video and it doesn’t work so I was curious about the other one
Any updated about what books you end up studying from? It's been 3 years haha
is it ok to write katakana name in column kanji name?.
Yes :)
Hi! Do they have rental tents/gears available on site?
Hi. I'm not entirely sure, but I don't think they do.
The website isn’t the most friendly and your video certainly helps foreigners like myself understand a lot! Thanks! Btw what happens after reservation is confirmed? I got a reservation ID but no payment link? Do I pay in person on the actual day?
Yes! You pay to the person in the entrance booth 😊
@@ThatJapanLife Thank you so much! I wish you well and good day ahead!
Hello! I don’t have a compartment like yours for soap.. does that mean i can just put it anywhere?
I'm half European half japanese, 16. Visited Japan a couple of times to visit family for a month at a time. Hopefully one day I can live there cause I love it, mostly cause of the people (I speak Japanese alright, gonna improve it though)
How do you throw it out tho? Is it a 燃えるゴミ?I’m still new in Japan so I don’t know what to do…
Yes! Moeru gomi!
Thank you for sharing .Fuurin has really healing sound, also this sound in late summer brings out the sentimentality in us.

Hello my washing tank cleaning not working i think because there's no time displayed only -- and the washing is spinning and not draining can u help me pless thanks
I am in the process of getting my permanent residence and I am nervous since I have not yet submitted my files. It appears that the requirements are more extensive than what is published on their site, is that correct? I am happy to hear that you can send missing documents by mail that is a relief at least. Thank you for your video!
Good luck! What’s on the site is likely accurate; it’s just that there may be variations on the types of docs listed bases on your history and status in the country. 😊
Where did you give birth? Is it foreigner friendly? I don't speak Nihongo fluently. I'm a first time mom, and still yet to decide on where or how to give birth. i found your video very insightful.. thanks for sharing..
So happy that you found it helpful, and congratulations on your pregnancy! The facility I gave birth in was very small and did not have dedicated staff who spoke English. Not gonna lie, it was TOUGH as my Japanese at the time was also not very good. But, two things I can attest to is that 1) prior research (including translating whatever materials the hospital gives you) helps a lot, and 2) the Japanese staff really dis their best to accommodate me despite the language difference ❤️
