I was an Uber driver at some point, one day I picked up a female rider who told me she use to have really bad seizures. On one occasion, she felt she was going to die and recalled a friend told her to call Jesus Christ for help in time of need, she did and a voice told her " I was waiting for you all the while". It stopped and that was the last seizure she ever had.
I was delighted to hear her story because I was healed of Ulcer as a child by the same person. Jesus Christ is King.

Look at the Japanese, you can't look at their Godless existence and call them pointless! This chick is a bad example of how to argue for Atheism and that's pretty well understood, I wouldn't take really anything from this conversation as something that interesting. Look to conversations with Alex O'Connor vs Jordan, that one was way better.

This reminds me of a man. I worked at an insurance company and every other week Tim would come in and he was the worst person possible. I dont know how my boss dealt with him honestly. He smoked, drank, had the worst mouth on earth, and always cussed about the prices he had to pay. I left the company but was still friends with my boss and he told me this a few weeks ago. He said - Hey do you remember Tim? I said yea how could I forget him, and he told me this happened. He said that Tim walked into his office a few months prior to us talking and he had a big grin on his face and a CASE of bibles. My friend asked him what's up. Tim said in one day - his wife left him, his daughter refused to talk to him and disowned him, he lost his house to the bank, and he found out he had cancer. All in one day! Tim went home (that was being repossessed) went into the bathroom, put the gun in his mouth as was going to kill himself because he didn't have any meaning in his life anymore. He looked up into the mirror with the gun in his mouth and there was a man standing behind him in the mirror. The man asked Tim "What are you doing?" Tim wasn't startled as I would have been but replied back with "I'm going to kill myself! I have nothing to live for anymore, I have nothing, and no one wants me." The man said back to Tim, "You are wrong - Jesus wants you." Tim said he looked down into the sink and took the gun out of his mouth; looked back up into the mirror and the man was gone. That was Friday night. Tim said he spent all day Saturday thinking about that man, and his life. Then on Sunday he went to church and got saved. In the events that followed. His wife still left him, his daughter still disowned him, he still lost his house (was losing but the bank let him keep his house since he was dying), and he was still dying of cancer. BUT, after being saved he bought case after case of bibles and stood on the street corner professing Gods love and telling everyone who would listen about what happened to him as he gave out bibles. The day he came into the office and told this story he gave out bibles to everyone in the building that wanted one. It was incredible because we knew who that man was before he got saved. Then he left in a hurry to try and give out as many bibles as he could. (that's how Tim put it, he was in a hurry). Tim passed away about 2 weeks after that visit at the age of 71. Tim graciously had to lose it all to find God and meaning in life.

So I said "ok, Lord play "Come as you are by Nirvana".
I turned on the radio and the song started playing right there on the spot, perfectly…
I started getting flooded with chills like a waterfall, crying, and trembling.
He stayed with me for 10 minutes in my driveway. until I got outta the car.
A couple months after that I started getting amazing prayers answered way more often, because it helped me quit doubting when I pray and I was lined up with biblical instructions. It's 6 years later and I still get answered prayers in Jesus name.

I'd like to share a recent experience where that what was addressed in the video was shown a lot to me.
I befriended a guy who was an atheist and asked me what's all the fuzz of christians about sex before marriage, and as i was telling him the practical reasons as to why this order from God does make sense and displaying all the harms that not waiting does, he was all like: "whoa, i never thought about that. That does make sense". He claimed later that i was the first christian he ever met that not only took the faith seriously but actually had answers to some of his questions. I met him a couple of other times and he said that even tough he was an atheist, he did agree that this is a worldview of hopelessness, that he wanted to get rid of.
A couple of weeks later he sent me a message, saying he believed God was talking to him, that 3 days prior he had decided to commit suicide and didn't know why (i think is bc he grew tired of the hopelessness of his worldview) and he spoke to an unbeliever friend of his and he didn't help much (all he had to say was "oh, yeah that sucks, but hang on man. Is gonna go away", IOW... "life happens", is all they can offer, no matter how well meaning), i explained the gospel to him, it was an almost hour long conversation telling him personal stories, my testimony, gospel, arguments for God, and in the end i prayed with him for him to recieve Christ.
I'm very well aware that in the parable of the sower, 2 of the 4 seeds do get inside and grow but don't last, and i was worried that my friend's case would be one of those. But the conversation happened almost midnight of june 29th, and so far, i only saw confirmation that he did get saved and his heart is now really on doing God's will. All of a sudden he asked me about prayer, fasting, said he's reading the book of matthew without me yet reccomending any bible book. And there's a light in his eyes that wasn't there before. He found God, meaning and the light that only God gives. He found the fulfillment of the desire for God, that as John lennox and Jaiden paraphrasing said... would be very strange if we had thirst in a world without water. We have this innate desire for eternity because God placed eternity on man's heart. And my friend found it. Often God uses the hopelessness of one's worldview to point the person to himself, the one who satisfies our hopes and grants us forgiveness

Thank you for sharing this, it is so encouraging for all of us brethren that may struggle sometimes or get nervous in sharing the gospel, this has inspired me to testify more.
I am so very glad that your friend got saved and went full throttle for the Lord, oftentimes I have noticed at the heart of many atheists is actually a deep yearning for God, thats why they always demand scientific evidence and stats and numbers etc because they think the evidence will either condemn or convict. And some of them may be correct in their assessment from a worldly reasoning but the thing is God is a supernatural being and actually requires faith in Him and even more so, He's even made it easy for us because He wrote Himself on our hearts.
Just talking with your friend and taking time to get to the heart of his unbelief and worldview and lovingly sharing your faith, answering questions that I have found some Christian's are unable to do (either its not their strength or for whatever other reason) not all but some and atheists love to trip up believers, especially the hardcore ones.
Praise God, Hallelujah, the angels rejoiced when your friend got saved! Glory be to God! God bless you dear fellow believer!

Fantastic! So glad for both of you. I am on a new part of the journey with Christ in my faith that has me asking the question of 'Why I believe what I believe'. Your sharing of this (testimony) is great to read about and hearing that you are deliberate in your faith journey (You are taking it seriously) There are too many instances of inconsistency of our brothers & sisters in the faith that make it confusing and quite often a turn off of the Christianity/Gospel. This warms my heart and reinforces some of the 'Why'. Bringing Hope to the hopeless. Bringing a glass of cool water to someone who is thirsty. To have answers to questions unspoken. To speak to hearts that are longing for meaning and purpose. To find and receive Grace and forgiveness by the sacrifice of Jesus and His shed blood. I don't like religion or using buzz words or christianese but my heart longs for GOD and before I came to know Him, I didn't know I needed Him or that He was my Creator. You have made a huge difference in your friends life and have helped me too as well. Grateful you were there for him and planted some seeds. GOD will provided the watering, as He always does. @@alexiscolby9415 I read your comment for now, superficially and even wondered if i should reply. Cuz in these few hours between my comment and yours, a bad news about it came up and now i just don'tknow what to do. And it is my fault, at least to some extent.
That call of his to talk to me was in june 29th. Almost 2 weeks later i invited him to go to my church like, 3 times only, counting today. And now, when i invited him over whatsapp messaging, i asked if i was being too pushy and insistent, wich i recognize i have a tendency towards (specially given how excited i was that i after 17 years praying to see myself being actively used to bring someone to Christ, it finally happened. So you can imagine my excitement).
Not only his reply said that yes, but he replied aggresively. And knowing myself, my immediate feeling was a pure self condemnation: "Nice job dude. Being insistent and blowing up again (not the first time it happens)! When will you learn you massive moron!? Howmany times does this have to happen for you to learn. Are you really such an idiot?!" And i started being terrified that bc of that, his heart will be turned into one of the soils that doesn't hold the seed.
I called him my friend in the comment but is actually a very recent friendship, if it actually got there. In fact we practically started seeing each other and talking last month.
Now, the more i let the cloud of emotions go away and think more with a clear judgement, i also see that in my defense there's just no way his reaction is justified. Specially considering that i ASKED if i was being too pushy, wich implied my willingness to listen. Therefore he didn't have AT ALL to reply to me the way he did. You reply like that with ppl who are not willing to listen.
Therefore i didn't reply, didn't mark as "viewed" (it was on whatzapp, not very common in US as far as i know)
I'm even thinking of saying more and i thought of not even replying to your comment cuz you seemed so happy about it all and i didn't wanna blow it, but i need someone who doesn't have any idea who i am to talk to about this. In a way i wanna apologize but is in one hand too soon, given it only happened 2-3 hours ago, but once is not i'm afraid of apologizing and reigniting a gas i am trying to avoid.
There's also a backstory that might shed more light to the subject but since this comment's already long i'll leave it as that. But please, if you can continue replying. I need someone to talk to about this that doesn't have any sort of "family bias" either for or against me (then of course i'll talk to them, cuz on the other hand they know me best), i'm feeling like trash here.

@@alexiscolby9415 So, the backstory that i think is important: a couple of days after i had the conversation about premarital sex with him, i prayed that God would show me a way that i could help an unbeliever i knew, to show them Christ's Love. I felt a tug reminding me of this friend and that he had said to me that his parents fight all the time. Then i remembered the "fireproof" movie and the dare that the father does with the main character, with a book in case you didn't watch, where he would each day read one dare to show love towards her. The "tug" i felt was to see if there was a version in book of this dare to give to him for his parents. I found it, bought it in a leap of faith.
A couple of days after the book arrived he called me, asking me what to do cuz he was having suicidal thoughts and his girl was no longer wanting to date him and that if i told him that he could get her back then BAM! He would believe. However, he wasn't really dating this girl, he wanted to but she was his "friend with benefits". So i had to tell him that this relationship had already started wrong. Then i went to bring the point that God would satisfy him more than any girl. Then we had the conversation i mentioned, i gave him "the love dare" the next day, and a couple of days later he came to me excited about the results of what he was learning about love from the book..... with his "friend with benefits". I decided not to say anything, and asked the advice from a friend who's a christian but also lived a life of sexual immorality, he told me as someone who didn't "grow up christian" like i did, to let go and not correct all at once, specially cuz the book itself would do it.
Besides that, everything led me to think his conversion was genuine, even the errors that would be typical of new true converts. But then when i asked him what i asked him earlier today and he replied aggresively he said among other things: "I'M not (his "girl's" name) ALL RIGHT!?". So looking at all of this, maybe deep down his heart wasn't really in Christ and it pains me to say this, maybe it was all for the girl. I even thought about deleting the comment you are replying to cuz i'm not so sure it is true anymore. However, did i mess up? Did i mess up as much as he said i did (that, i really, reeeealy don't think so....... but what if i did?)? If i did when will i learn and how ? I'm just extremely ashamed now but also wondering, was what i posted in that comment you replied, true at all? I just don't know what to do.

@@dreadrockadrian Well, no it's not arrogance to hold that people who happen to have black skin are human because it's true. But when you hold something as true which is false, then there must be an explanation. He offered the explanation that she is arrogant, which is not a terrible explanation if you hold that God exists. Is there anything more arrogant then to say the one who created and sustains you does not exist?
To your point on the status quo, it could be easily flip on its head and asked why we don't question the current status quo on black people being human. Of course this is absurd. But if the point is that we must, to be heroic, question the status quo then it is quite reasonable to be unreasonable.
Further more, she is by no means questioning anything, she is stating something. In other words, she did not spend her time questioning the status quo, she spent her time putting forth a new status quo, one which Nietzshce rejoiced in along with all his fellow conspirators of atheistic independence. It is a world without God she put forth, not a question is are world without a God.
Now the question is "does God exist?" But what does that even mean? Because it is typical to jump straight to which God are we talking about: the Christian God, the Jewish God, the god of Islam, Buddha, ect. But I think this is silly to jump right into. It isn't even known, rhetorically speaking, because we haven't gotten there yet, if God exists, so why then is it a concern which one.

@@1gtman What's wrong with that? That is the only logical conclusion of a Godless world. Nietzshce was right, if God is dead then the self is the only thing which matters. Dostoevsky explains this theory in Crime and Punishment with the Nietzshcian superman idea. The most exceptional people have the ability to will themselves as anything, they can over step morality because they are strong enough to withstand the consequences of guilt. As so many theologians and philosophers pointed out this would, if not battled against, spread like wild fire. Now everyone has the ability to transcend themselves. It does not matter if one is "born" a man (how they can distinguish these things I'll never know ;) does not matter, because we have killed God. In other words, society has rid itself of God, not that God has actually been slain. A man can cut himself to bits or merely say what ever he wishes to be and just by that wish, because he has the ability to transcend humanity, he is that thing. We know things to have essence before we give it to them. No man ever gave a tree it's essence, and yet essence it has. But this is where the modern world receives its ideas.
These are the honest atheist. Those who claim we can have morality without God are silly. Those who say we should have morality without a God are quite mad. And those who say we do have morality without God are Christians but don't know it.

I agree with your statement that one must profess faith in Christ and his Church to be a Christian, otherwise he is either a gentile or a heretic.
But it was actually something I did think of and still chose to state. There is something called a practical atheist: someone who says he's God fearing, but lives like there is no God (immorally; which all the "honest atheist", those who admit, like Nietzshce and Satre, without God there is no morality just power and subjective desires ("existence proceeds essence")) So what I was saying is that they are practical Christians: those who believe there is no God, but live like there is one. I wonder what other cultures, that have different beliefs call them.

There is no evidence that all the species on earth had a common origin from a materialist perspective. There is observable evidence that speciation has occurred within a family (or "kind") but this would not be an unbiblical claim. For instance, the dog and the wolf likely had a common parent at the family or kind level.
In regards to evolution, though, the real question is how something (the universe) came from nothing without a transcendent cause. I will submit that the materialist has no answer for this. The Christian has an answer for this: there is a transcendent, personal Being that we worship called YHVH or God.

Just because someone tells you something that makes you sad or depressed, doesn't mean their wrong.
If a doctor told someone they had cancer and they're going to die in a few months; I don't think that person would be happy about it, whether they're religious or not, but it's happening non the less, unless the doctor screwed up.
Most philosophers, if not all of them, were atheists but they never said nihilism or meaninglessness was a good thing, they basically said we have to avoid it at all costs, and running towards religion was a bad idea. Science gives us objective answers to things religion tried to answer subjectively.
Religion makes people happy, I get it. As humans, our biology pushes us towards comfort, not away from it. Some of us "choose" to experiment and figure out how certain things actually work and not just accept what people thousands of years ago told us about the world and universe.
Religion and science started out as a way to explain things, it became bad once humans used it to push their own agendas. Science and religion is pointless if were not using it to make peoples lives better. If were stopping people from living or killing them, etc. Its a waste. People have used Religion and Science to kill millions of people, neither one is perfect.
Don't be afraid of science or Religion, use both, fill in the blanks, understand as much as possible, get smarter.
Be aware of those who are manipulating science and religion to harm people and use it for their own personal gain. Anything anyone says that completely makes you happy is lying, because the universe doesn't care one way or another, its indifferent to our suffering and happiness.
Find happiness within, not from science or religion or the universe, but from yourself, if not, when they go away, your happiness goes away.

4:00 What she fails to realize is that by invoking William James - she has made Jordan's point and/or denatured her own.
Like so many today: William James saw the flaws in his pragmatism, the Zen Approach of the time. Perhaps he feared alienating many followers or he himself was afraid of his realizations. Not till after his death was his work of "Radical empiricism" published. In it James makes the case against a nihilist view, against a pure a pragmatic view.
A view that Jung typified in his quote: "That none of his older patients in need of help from an unattainable longing: none were left unhealed..."(in German the word to be fully healed is to be Whole: Like individuation that requires integration of the the self and the other thus the opposite of nihilist).
The solution, Jung said, to the Modern malaise "is to adopt a religious view of life". To see the beauty in everything and everyone. To see our Providence or Divinity as Emerson (inspired Nietzsche and James) and Whitman said: "to see our potential in the flowers blooming". Or as Brother Lawrence said: "to know that a barren tree in winter will bloom again in the spring".
This is the trust in our path, trust in our potential, a trust in our faith that sustains. Not only in good times but trust's essential service is as a toolkit to rebuild after catastrophe.

Atheists do not say “life is meaningless”. Rather the statement is more “life has no real meaning”. Humans define and refine the meaning on life as they age. Some make meaning with religion and spirituality, some make meaning by striving to become the best version of themselves, and the rest can do whatever else they find meaningful.
Religion gives some meaning in life, but not the be-all.

We have a finite life, and you either make the most of it or you don't....
I find that my life is more fulfilling when I make the most of it

Well most atheists or agnostic people who argue that we don’t need God tend to lack an understanding of what God actually is….. so that’s a huge part of it

the writer of Ecclesiastes says “all is meaningless or all is vanity and there’s nothing new under the sun”
they understood and felt all the same things we feel today.
Christ is all that matters. our faith and salvation is all that matters.

Even as a Norse Animist. Jordan Inspires me very much. If you’re deep into your gratitude for what your ancestors did before you got here, grateful for what you have done for yourself, your family, your community, your country, and gratitude that you’re even here breathing life, and appreciate the planet that we live in and what it provides us. We can all connect to and speak to source as well as our higher self. There is no separate despite appearance. It takes more faith to be an atheist as far as I am concerned. The way I see it is just because we don’t have “evidence” doesn’t mean it’s not there and it’s most certainly sacred. To insist that we are completely alone in existence is quite ignorant.

13:15 Answering I don't know, is one thing this woman doesn't know even her ownself still searching. To find the purpose, and value of yourself, you're still in process of Soul Searching. You can't even clearly define yourself.

She contradicts herself… in the words of C.S Lewis, “if the world has no meaning then we never should have found out that the world has no meaning.”
The fact you reasoned to that pt basically disproves that thinking. Shes formed a world view that is exactly what the bible warns against in Romans 1:25… “These people have exchanged God's truth for a lie. So they have become ungodly and serve what is created rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen!”
The fact she acknowledges gratitude is a fruitful thing shows design function .. design function suggests a designer/aka creator God. Her stance is more a position of the heart that has corrupted her world view rather than an actual truth statement
