I own both. I love Oud Mood, to me it’s soft and not overpowering at all, but then I’m not an oud newbie. It is also a big compliment getter. The difference between the two is that Sheikh al Shyuk has a prominent cinnamon note, Oud Mood does not. I’m not big on cinnamon so I rarely wear Sheikh. I wear Oud Mood throughout the winter.
@@liloulilou5591Yes, I smell the caramel in Sheikh Al Shyukh LUXE EDITION and the caramel gives the fragrance a creamy element, it's very appealing in Sheikh Al Shyukh LUXE EDITION. This is a beautiful and feminine and unique fragrance.
Sheik al Shuyukh is a beautiful extremely opulent scent but my backup bottle disappointed me. The caramel and vanilla was not prominent at all but the cinnamon was extremely strong... I kept comparing the 2 bottles and it was clear that they are not the same.
I applied Oud Mood three times yesterday; and I've selected it as the frag I apply to my scarf, so you KNOW its a LOVE lol! Lately it's like I can't get enough of it! Definitely lone of my loudest on the opening; I usually apply a hour before I head out for the day. This is my first and only Lattafa, and I'm ready to explore more from the house. Your insights are so appreciated!
About a week ago I got a man's opinion on these two fragrances. I asked him because he's new in my life and wanted to see which ones he likes out of my collection. 😉 He said Oud Mood was nice and it seems like something for any occasion. The Sheik Luxe he said was more sensual and something that would be good on a date. I thought it was interesting, since he was he doesn't know much about fragrances.
I own the ameer al oudh intense oud, sheikh al shuyukh concentrated, al haramain amber oud black edition, and im waiting on sheikh al shuyukh lux edition to come in the mail and i love them all. Still have to order oud mood.
Hi Cee, you are right on with the comparisons. I have Sheikh Al Shuyukh Luxe and my sister wears the Oud Mood. It has become her signature scent. It smells divine on her and she gets compliments all the time from both men and women. You are right it does project to the next town, lol. I agree that Sheikh Al Shuyukh Luxe does have subtle differences, to my nose it is the cinnamon in Sheikh. They both smell great! Sheikh Al Shuyukh Luxe was one of my first purchases when I ventured in to the world of Middle Eastern fragrances. Love it ! Thank you Cee.😊
hello there, loving Lattafa Khamrah, Swiss Arabian Shaghaf Oud, Al Haramain Amber oud tobacco edition and Rifaaqat by Paris Corner. They are all blind buys so all the reviews are very helpful.@@tatjanafeigl5938
Hey Cee, funny thing happened to me with Oud Mood. I bought it 3 yeard ago (together with Club de Nuit Intense for women) when both were very much hyped. I was quite new to Middle Eatern frags but very curious and intrigued. I felt that I need more OOMPH to a fragrance which designers perfumes mostly lack. Anyway, when I frst sniffed Oud Mood -- I was underwhelmed to say the least. I love thick, heavy, spicy and balsamic perfumes and they well fit on my skin, but this was harsh. Could not understand the hype. So it was put away. I also didn't know that perfumes macerate and get better with time. Now, after 3 years, it lost it's harshness and became softer and way nicer . On my skin it is not a beast at all. It's quite light. So different than I smelled it at the beginning. And of course it can be layered .
I have both and love them, plus Shaghaf Oud and another dupe. 6-10 sprays of Oud Mood will get me nicely through a work day. Shaghaf Oud has people chasing me down in the grocery store to ask what I'm wearing.
I have Oud Mood, I don't reach for it often becuz as you stated it is a beast. In order for me to wear it I spray 1 to 2 on the back of my top and let it sit there for about a hr. then put it on. Oud to me is a weird note, sometimes I pick up my fragrances that have Oud in them and that is all I smell, then other times I can pick up the same fragrances and smell all the other beautiful notes. It really is a hit or miss for me LOL!
Sheikh Al Shuyukh is an everlasting intense incense on my skin, like a real fireplace . So very different from Oud mood which is more "boring " to me due to a more linear fragrance
I commented on one of your videos about oud mood being overhyped. That I don't like it OMG have I changed my mind. So I went to the fragrance store today and tried it for the fourth time and completely went wild over it. I looooooove oud mood OMG I don't know what happened to me but I'm a changed person. It's giving me rich aunty vibes
I have the Sheikh since few days and it’s my first Lattafa. I love it, even there is a note in the beginning I do not appreciate. However since I have it, I wear it and like it more and more each day. Will order the Oud Mood now as well and maybe the Oud Mood Elixier, Bevause my husband hates the Sheikh, he find it too powdery 🤷🏼♀️
I think the projection very much depends on a batch or a bottle. A friend of mine went for a mini bottle of Oud Mood, following my recommendation, and I must admit they are 2 different things. Scentwise similar, but the small bottle is nowhere near being a beast.
I hope the fragrance will get better after it sits a little… perfumes need a little while before they get back to their original blend especially after movement or being tossed about in the post.
I❤ both and use them with much much care! Even though they were not so expensive(around50£ each here in Sweden)I don’t dare to overspray them Bcs they were so hard to get. I month waiting for delivery, searching for websites to find them… big fuss.
Hello Cee, I just received sheikh al shuyuk, what an oriental scent! To me it truly reminds me of the smell you have in Indian shops. It's pleasant but I'm afraid it doesn't last on my skin because I sprayed it 40 mn ago on my left wrist and badee Al oud amethyst on the right one, it became a skin scent. Oud mood I love it but unfortunately too sweet but u must have, and Shalimar oud... Ooh my... I'm utterly obsessed with the scent. Grown women around 50 always ask me what I'm wearing... A kinda Diva Ungaro.. Thank you so much for all your reviews and my collection. Have a very nice week.
I’m glad my reviews were helpful. It’s a pity some don’t last on your skin. Maybe they’ll turn out better after you let them sit for a while or try them in the heat ❤️
They are like twins but al shayukh is a bit more syrupy/caramel-ish and the caramel doesnt smellll synthetic unlike Oud mood which smells synthetic at 1st
I own both and love them equally. As someone who has never tested Lancome one, I agree with you on Sheikh al shuyukh being the closes to Oud Bouquet as per your description. The bottle is a tell-tale sign. Thanks Cee.
I have both of them, Sheikh al shuyukh luxe, but also once gold from riffs and inara oud from Swiss Arabian, it’s way too much of the same style, idk how I ended up with so many similar stuffs. My favourites are incense gold and inara oud, because one is softer and the other one has floral notes that give an extra feminine touch.
The weather is cooling in my area. I spent the day putting my summer frags away and pulling ALL my falls and winters out! OMG I was so excited. I do both of these :) Lattafa produces oils/body sprays/lotion for both of these frags. Gourmand, sweet florals, suede, spicy aromatic, here I come! Goodbye citrus 😊
I have both of them and totally agree with your description and review , thank you Cee for always giving spot on and honest reviews , much love always from Kat xo
Hi Cee ,what about Sondos in comparison to these two.I need a feminin sweet fragrance, love Caramel, chocolste, vanilla, Cinnamon all of them cosy stuff. But it can be a little smoky.Thank you 😊.
Wow you have great nose and the way you describe the frags shows you know what's up. I'm a new subscriber here! I was actually on the fence with these two and you content helped a lot I just bought Oud Mood. Personally, Oud Bouquet type of scent isn't my style so I wouldn't spend for it. And I agree Oud Mood has strong sillage during the first few hours and is screeching a bit. The oud part is very dry, woody, a bit medicinal like what I got from synthetic Combodian oud oil with green colour. Overall I like it a lot. Thanks so much for your video!
I’m waiting on my sheikh al shuyukh luxe in the mail and can’t wait! The way you describe fragrances is amazing, you’re definitely my favourite fragrance influencer 😍 Have you come across any strong fragrances that have a creamy vanilla pistachio scent? I just bought Trussardi pure jasmine which is so beautiful but the projection is very poor even when overspraying so I’ve been looking for a stronger smelling dupe
