  • Harbor Freight now has a metal Military Style ammo can that is a direct copy of the .50 cal M2A1 ammo can used by the US Military. It is made in China, but the quality appears to be better than comparable ammo cans sold by other mass retailers.
    Price before coupon: $15.99. With 20% coupon= $12.79

    I have these too... good stuff. When i was in the marines we were using 50 cal ammo from WWII. The metal can is loaded with ammo. And formaldehyde. Then that is sealed in a foil type wrapper with more formaldehyde... then packed in a wooden crate. We had to open everything outside the aircraft because if we opened them once in flight it would make people not used to the smell sick. Sometimes i would open one if someone was onboard i didnt like... lol... so thats the smell for old ones God Bless

    They have them at Costco and BJ. They are all good quality even if made in China.

    I bought one a few days ago ..It is a nice hefty can with a great seal on the lid and the color is the dark green that I like ..I had a cheapo brand that was a lighter green and it was flimsy made

      I agree. There are many cans that are almost too flimsy to use. Thanks for commenting.

    An ammo can made in China to US Military specification is just a less expensive ammo can. I would encourage shooters to buy as many as they need (and can afford) [$20-$30 for used mil. spec. cans or $5 -$16 for new Chinese cans]

    Is it seal water proof

  • @jack_m100
    @jack_m100 ปีที่แล้ว

    A lot of these cans are dust proof and rain proof. Some start to lose it with a beating train or submersion. Are those still air tight enough that a silica packet will last?

      Easy to test your new cans. Just throw a paper towel inside and submerge it in water.

    I saw a pallet of them at Costco last week. I took it for granted they were Wing Wang junk so I didn't even look at them. I may go back now for another look. 👍

      I would. These are the best of the 'Made in China' brand i've seen, so I would hit up a Harbor Freight if you have one close.

    These are really good quality ammo cans and I plan on getting more from harbor freight. Don't buy the ones at Walmart they are junk and I had one break after opening it several times.

    I'm sold on this!
    Need something to keep my stash in, so that would-be thieves of my snacks would keep away.
    I'll say "I keep my gun in there, don't go snooping in it!"
    Seems legit.
    They'd be wise not to open it.

    Walmart has some for like 10$
    They work great. I don’t know what this dude is talking about flimsy. Mine are all beat up and they are still going strong.

      I agree, Walmart's ain't flimsy! Probably same Chinese manufacturer. I bought 4 from Wally World, lock mechanisms off eBay, and a set of 4 keyed alike locks from WW, have nice locable water and air tight boxes for less than $20/can!

    I just bought one of the Walmart Cans and had high hopes on getting one of these Harbor Freight cans once I saw this video but then when I went to Harbor freights site and saw it was $3 more....the color green on it isn't that important to me....they both look like very nice cans but $3 is $3!

    • @KevCentral

  • @GaryDrumm

    This only real problem with this one, besides the fact that it's made in China, is that the sticker on the side held on by some kind of freaking super glue. Took me 30 minutes to get it off with a razor and some Goo Gone.

    • @georgetincher7859
      @georgetincher7859 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      A heat gun or hair dryer on the hottest/highest setting held close to the sticker for just a few moments makes it super easy to peel the sticker away in one simple easy motion, all in one piece, with no glue residue left behind. But without a heat source, trying to remove these stickers is a real PITA.
