How rare are photography teachers that focus on developing artistic sensibility. Thank you!

I've been into photography for years and I've always struggled with composition. I just learned more in the last 25 minutes than in the last 5 years !!! Thank You !!!

Hi, Joseph. Thank you for your kind note. I am very gratified to learn that this video was of such value to you. I hope you will check out the others, most of which deal directly with compositional issues relevant to architectural photography. If there is a subject you would like to see discussed, please let me know. Best, Steven

Thank you Steven for the passion you've shared in delivering such rich information. I connected to so many pieces of this and your other videos. Having studied a bit in drawing and painting, and as a photographer now studying architectural work, I was able to see the artistry in the painters, engravers & cinematic examples as it applies to the Dutch painters and am now eager to research more from the resources of artists you highlighted. Whenever I return to Italy (or any where else) it will be through a new lens, and am now scouring my portfolio to convert some images to black & white to review & critique.

Thanks for this video. My style of photography leans towards this, but I’m still not good enough to get this kind of results. I’ll keep working on it! This is fantastic.

This is great. I love that you're getting inspiration from areas outside of our field. We should look at artists more, definitely. I also love those night time views. Night time arch photography has become a bit of a lost art hasn't it. Probably because it's difficult to really show off architecture when there's so little light, but it's interesting to think about how it could be done in a clever way.

Thanks for your note, Mark. Check out the 19th-century Italian painter Ippolito Caffi. His night scenes of Italy and the Orient are remarkable.

@@stevenbrookephotography I didn't find the version of My Funny Valentine that you had mentioned. I found other live recordings. For now I like the one on Cookin'. I think my ear will need a little more acclimatization for his live work. ha. My doctor actually recommended Live at the Plugged Nickel which I enjoy.
