How about the use of positive and negative word choice in multiple choice that would skew results?

So glad I stumbled upon this, this am. Thank you for the video. If I might inquire as to the books that are visually referenced in the video? Might there be a list of recommended reading materials...maybe a "top 5" of "Must read" on the subject of designing survey questions for analysis? I'm a computational social sci analyst, and while I understand the bias effects of poorly chosen phrasing...leading or priming et al, I'd really like to specialize in the development of opinion polling to go with the cluster analytics and topic modeling I currently employ. Thoughts? And thank you again for the video that piqued my interest here...I look forward to checking out the remainder of this series!

    How to speak to Americans:
    1. don't use big words
    2. don't use a lot of words
    3. don't confuse them

_LoL really? We wouldn’t need this 101 if teachers and parents would and could teach their children to comprehend what they’re reading and understanding of the real world. Not some crap on their phone or tablet. Maybe this what happens when you dumb them down to the point of being told what to think, say and understand. What’s sad, this was targeted at adults. Hmmm! How many of these adults would understand my statement and point?_

I understand your reasoning, but apparently, the biases that are described in this video don't only concern the younger generation but the population as a whole. I don't think it is something you can describe as just the result of restrictive education.

_But you have to start from the beginning, which is the education system and from parents, plus helping them with their reasoning, deduction, and interpretation of a straightforward generalization of a simple idea or question(s). Then of course, as time goes by, it becomes more complicated as they start to understand the complexities of advanced thinking. By the way! Thanks for a congenial reply with an important observation._

_For: Steve Covello, thanks for the great reply, I am no expert, and these are only my thoughts and opinions._
_First, I like to say: it's nice to hear you're involved with your children future because they are our future. Critical thinking is going to be a must for them and us... I have to take some reservation and conjecture about the use of " Drilled(ing) " of critical thinking, not sure if you're giving the same exercises over and over? If so, then it falls into memorization to give you what you think is right. After one or two times there's no more thinking for them, it's one thought for them, please let's get this over with, so I/ we can go and do something else. At least that how my boys were, then I come to realize that, I, was holding them back by doing almost the same with my children. " Drilled " Then a light bulb went off. I made sure they understood that there's no right or wrong answer at first. But they still had to give a reason and some argument(s) for their understanding why they think it is right. Through that process, I guild them to the correct answer. They didn't always get it, so I steer them from a sideways move to put them on the same path with a different outlook to have them come at the problem in a new way. That what seemed to work for my kids and me. Now, I want to thank you for myself and many others, that are nameless and will stay nameless. For being a great parent to your kids and caring enough to give them the best chance to exceed in the real world._
_Second, Art and Music; Art: are one of the most critical subjects in any child's life it set them up from the-get-go on being creative on many different levels, not only with colors, although colors are significant my themselves within our world, soul, and spirit, but that for another time and conversation. It gives them basic problem-solving techniques and creative thinking to look for the solutions to complete. Music is the same aspect, with some differences. Are sounds and the vibrations, can jump-start them into the world of logic, reasoning, and argumentations for problems - why who, and how. Now if we can have them change back to 432 Hz for music, it will be better for all. So, you're right art and music should at every grade level and should be apart all children curriculum through schooling and throughout their life._
_We have to have active parents and teachers who will stand firm for the kids and do the right thing for them and their future. Even if it means, going against the grain. The ones who are just order followers are part of the problem, and weak. Hate say this, but those are the real sell-outs on our society, communities, and themselves, hell for the Human race, and we as a species should be moving forward, not backward and becoming dumber by the day! If things don't change it's 1984, Brave New World, with a healthy dose of Animal Farm. As their future will have them standing at the Barn wall with Soma running through their brains wondering if it was there or not, while Big brother watching and controlling them, and trying to find a reason to bring them to Room 101 in the Ministry of Truth Building. Just saying! : )_
