  • Of the 24 million Asians living in the United States, about 2.3 million live in poverty. Many are working to overcome the economic hardships they encounter and achieve their American dream. But they face challenges along the way, from Asian immigrants grappling with language barriers to U.S.-born Asians navigating pathways to success.

I needed this. I've been shaping my focus and research topic for my capstone in my Arts and Cultural Leadership MPS program and this is part of my experience as a 1.5 Hmong American woman.

Thank you so much for this film, to demystify "model minority myth" that hurting our community. Asian American need more support and resources.

I'm sorry you all had to go though this shit too.... they didn't teach me any of this in school. I didn't even know much about the model minority thing. I didn't know of all these stereotypes, it's not fair to be put in a box, even if the stereotype is "positive".

Nonsense. Nobody in America needs "more support and resource" on account of their race/ethnicity. Anyone who is poor and qualifies for government assistance, will get it; but it won't be because they're Asian or any of that identity nonsense.
