  • After featuring Kampar, Gopeng and Pengkalan, certainly I must include Pusing. Why? Because it’s another mining town situated in the Kinta Valley. These towns were once important players during the tin mining boom of the late 19th and early century. Now that tin is no longer lucrative, these mining towns are reduced to abandoned towns. Thankfully there’s something nice about these towns, the people and their food. This episode Danny and I decided to come here for half a day and check out on their food. Let’s hope you’ll find our feature compelling. Thanks, and see you in the next video

This Pusing episode convinced me that it is a worthwhile trip to visit. The classic dishes were all Yatt Lau and from the color - it does really make one's gastric juice ozzes !!! From Wantan Mee, two different version of curry mee, beautifully cooked noodles ( home made fish balls) to the classic Ming Foong restaurant - all the dishes looks delicious and mouthwatering indeed !! The short historical illustration was well rendered and the well known Jeffrey Cheah's origins from Pusing (with instances that he comes over to one or two of his favorites eating places ) is an eye opener. Even the desserts offered by the vendors there looks so good. Can't help but to mention the "Wan Tau Long" - a favorite jelly like thirst-quenching drink would surely help in this current hot weather. What can I say - it's once again a very successful food haunting destination - thanks to Elmo ( and also to Danny). Initially I was a bit cautious "Pusing" if Elmo & Danny was able to find any good good eateries there, but instead I was really 180 degrees "Pusing" and changed my mind about the town Pusing with what it has to offer. Yatt Lau and Mou Tak Deng episode. 👌👌👌

Wife's hometown. I watched this video of yours few times before going back Pusing just over the weekend. Didnt went to the 77 fooodcourt as parents in-law had their own preferred kopitiam just right opposite of this foodcourt. Bought some cha goh from the uncle stall at the market and it was nice!

I believe you are trying to help normal offline folks to get publicity. Efforts appreciated.
There was Chinese migration out of nearby town for economic or expansion reasons. They came to a place where there were Sayong hills and most probably will arrive at the Perak river from native hearsay. The groups were need to decide to go on or turn back. This is the point of return where the local was stuck with its name.
Off course , waves of movement do oassed over the point to establish more mining towns and agricultural exploits all the way to the Straits.

I did try one of the most famous Pusing delicacies - "puppy duck" once(狗子鸭), it's not to my liking to be frank, on the other hand I quite like Pusing Hakka dessert, especially the mugwort steamed cake( 艾粄), maybe that must have something to do with my inner "Hakkaism". Not a bad place to wander around, might do it again in a week or two.

The tittle should be Pusing and Papan. 😊
History of Papan is more interesting and with your way of presenting it's history will be fantastic.

Thank you for your informative videos. I just want to point out to you, the highway "NKVE" that you mentioned in this video and some previous videos is supposed to be the "NSE- North South Expressway" that connects Johor till Perlis. 😊 The "NKVE- New Klang Valley Expressway" connects Klang to Kuala Lumpur.

Uncle elmo .. pusing back in the noughties was very vibrant . I had my tailor ..and he was a successful guy and he had presewn and the long pants and we used to buy the size and length . Job done . Also in pusing there was or is a coconut plantation where toddy (yeh fah chou) was harvested .. i use to go there and meet my mates and have a good drink up 😊. Then there was restaurant 126 .. i dont know if it still there . I know a lot of pusing in the years of 93 to 98 . A very big thank you for the blast from the past !!! Great video
