  • After spending my first night sleeping in the back seat of my Ford F150, I have learned a few simple things that can be done to improve comfort and the overall usability of the cab as a sleeping space. This should be helpful as I'm preparing to spend 4-5 nights in the truck soon!

Good ideas! Anybody interested in sleeping in the back of the pickup should look up Roadie truck door tents. They allow you to have the windows open and screen in place.

Hey Trip, look into the hack to drop the back of those back seats. Lots of unused space behind that driver side back seat. Very easy mod you can do yourself.

Love this video. I have a 2015 f150. I use a $10 twin size intex air mattress from walmart, close about a foot and a half of it between the side of the seat and the door and air it up pretty firm. I have two bags I place on each side of the floor board and sleep very comfortably. Works great.

Trip, have you seen those inflatable "L" shaped mattresses designed to go On Top of the seat in the back of the truck so you can still use the under seat storage, and have all the room of the cab to sleep on

This was great. I made a wire like that right after watching...it will hang all my clothes for a weekend and I think it will keep the cab darker. Brilliant!

Hi, just idea , i made long time a go a base and it’s works great. You can make a base bed top with plywood and legs which can go across from the back corner from the driver side. Going on the top of the passenger seat. You laid down the passenger seat and you have more space to sleep and you can storage stuff under the plywood top

When I saw that pink donut for sure you would put it under the mat to make it recline but under your knees is good sometimes I do that when something in the hammock

Truck stop showers help when your trying to save money on hotels if there is a truck stop close by. As a driver we get them free with 50 gal of fuel , easily doable in a day , to pay for them they average about $10 but some are as cheap as $5

I’ve slept in my back seat several nights on fishing adventures and it was just ok but after a long trip out west I found myself searching for hotel rooms so I bought a cap for my truck. I’m 6ft and the truck is just too narrow for comfort. Thankfully my bed is 6’6”.

With all due respect, I would honestly rather find one tree and stretch my hammock between there and the back of my truck! I don't ever sleep well away from home but much worse in the truck lol. You should patent the Trip Clip lol👍

    Hi Trip,
    Love your videos!!!!
I realize u have expanded your repertoire beyond paddling. Still, I am hoping you will make a video on the following subject. I have looked on the internet for any videos on paddling Upstream on an incoming tide without success. I want to learn where the most efficient route going upstream is as well as where in the river the water is moving Upstream while the current is moving Downstream. Is it on the inside bends or is it on the riverbed below the surface water, etc?
    Thank you,
    Tina

Telemarketers all you have to do is waste their time and be super annoying to them get their number so you can call them back in a little bit call them back 60 times and they put you on the do not call list. I’ve obviously been on it for years because I always mess with them and they never call me back and they don’t call me no more.
