I chuckled to myself listening to Brian Moore say that the FA Cup third round was the most exciting day of the season😊. If only he knew how it would all turn out

I think I posted that very thing a few videos ago :) . It was a great day, one of it not my favourite days of the season.

Before the stupid money and shit ( 4th place) “champions” league came in to ruin everything

That was in the days that the big clubs treated the FA Cup with respect, instead of fielding understrength sides.

As a lifelong Hammers supporter I can say with extreme bias that was never a penalty 🙂 I grew up with the Big Match, but I do not remember the ITV Penalty Awards with the kids doing penalty shootout I do not remember, that looks brilliant here, I wish England had that Paul Waites taking penalties in the world cup shootouts!

@@diptastik5651 Indeed. A lot of those players are getting on a bit now, as are we all. RIP John Duncan.

Devastated to here that! Averaged a goal every other game for spurs - his goals got us back up in 78 - and if he hadnt missed half the season with injury we would have stayed up in 77.

@@terrybrown4400 yes, quite a few from that era have passed away now. David Johnson (Ipswich/Liverpool) has gone too.

The pitch was a mudbath in both penalty areas by the end of the game. This was on 1 January, imagine the state of it by late March/early April

What happened to the bald footballers?

Wayne Rooney led the way with hair transplants and they all do it now. Fortunately they chose not to follow his lead with octogenarian sex workers though.

    "Spurs in black shorts".
Surely Brian Moore had been around long enough to know Spurs play in navy blue shorts?

I think he said that for the benefit of people who were watching in black and white.
