I saw Gary and the band last week here in Las Vegas at South Point Casino which is a nice smaller venue that seats about 400 and he filled the place for 3 nights. Good, fun show and he is a class act. He stood outside the showroom afterward and took pictures, signed autographs, and met every single person who wanted to meet him. Didn't rush anybody either. And he's in great shape. I hope I look half as good at 72. I'm still a fan and always will be.
Gary puckett in my opoinion is the true greatest i saw back in the early 90s got his auto graph and shared a wink. He was peforming live in syracuse newyork he was the greatest than and still is he never lost it once anybody who says different about this gorgeous singer dont know him and what they are talking about he hasnt lost. It at all es tbe greatest i have all of his music. I grew up listening to him and now today i still do how can anybody put him down are they jealous and should look as good as he ever did he hasnt lost nothing at all. I hope hw comes, back to syracuse newyork hes hot now lime be was than and ob so sexy i love you Gary .Toni jackson cleveland newyork
Gary Puckett possessed one of the most powerful voices in the rock era. Fifty years it's certainly lost much of its power, but just the nostalgia of the songs makes me want to still go out to see Gary, Tommy James, Flo & Eddy and the rest of the icons that continue to tour. No, their voices aren't like they were in the 60's, but the feeling of that era still permeates our mind when we hear them.
Used to have one of the strongest voices with great range matched with unforgettable songs. Who else could sing like that...now or then. He was a great talent with a great gift but nothing lasts forever.
Ok I'm 76 & had all but forgotten Gary Pucket but came across him a few weeks ago. Been returning frequently since, loving his great songs & my nostalgic strolls down memory lane. The 60's & 70's had the best music & some truly awesome singers.
Darling Gary....love you and your voice so much. Your song lyrics influenced my teenage choices. My circumstances could have lead me on a disastrous path...way back then in early seventies... But a man (you) sang about so many of my thoughts... You sat on my shoulder and guided me through a few awkward situations. Even though you will never know it...you were my hero in my teens. Pammy loves Gazza..!!
Gary Puckett is in his seventies! How can you expect him to sound the way he did in his twenties? Why are some of you even here? If you don't like the performance, just move on! In his day Gary had one of the best singing voices and there are few contemporary artists that could even come close to him today, even with the advantage of their fake, studio manufactured music!
Hotrod Bob Hi Bob...But you hit the nail right on the head by stating that "how do we expect Gary Puckett to sound like he did in his 20s"....Some performers actually sound "very close" to the way they sounded in their 20s...Gary is far from that. I do agree with the rest of your observation, he was quite the talent. But Bob, let's face it, all of us, including you and me, were young and beautiful at one point...But not anymore...We simply move on ahead with life and what we have and who we are. Gary had his moment in the spotlight a long time ago...And what a spotlight he once shined under.
Hi mrob, We all know Gary can't hit the notes as he once did. Me, I just respect Gary for who he was as a performer and who is is a man. I can forgive all the flaws that come naturally with age, to most that is. There are the exceptions such as Johnny Maestro and Jay Segal, but most lose the pitch with age. Don't want to leave out Tommy James, he still gets it done.
well said, HOTROD BOB...I guess my post sounded pretty cruel right...Didn't mean to come off that way...I too respect Gary, but yes, the voice is so gone here....I'd better stop saying that and upsetting fans.
The older he got, the better-looking he got. The older I got, the older I got. When he recorded Young Girl, I felt like I could have been that girl , but 10 years was quite a difference. I was too young to even understand the song.
It's interesting to see how the artists look and sound today, but few will be able to come close to their performances of the past. I grew up in the 60s and 70s, yet saw very few of these artists perform on TV. The real benefit of YT is enabling me to experience the parts of my childhood I missed back then.
I remember when Gary Puckett and the Union Gap performed in 1969 at Utah State University in Logan, Utah. He still has the wonderful deep voice. Sue Ann Abbott, from Pleasant Grove, Utah (Sue Ann Nelson). I hadn't heard or read that he was still performing till I checked on You Tube.
What with you guys, Only a true Gary Puckett will know his voice is as good now than it was in 1968. He is still one my all time faves. Don't forget it almost 50 years later.
Gary Puckett had his time in the spotlight and has his place in music history. Let him have his fun! His voice WAS one of outstanding range and incredible power. The old stuff still sounds good "turned up" better than 50 years later...
Gary Puckett is still a great performer. I have many of his original songs. Oh, the memories from days gone by. Thank you Gary Puckett and please carry on.
Great show I just saw in DC. Love Gary, nice man who signed my brought CD. True class and well written songs that stand the test of time! Thanks Gary and the Gap!!
This is really good for Gary since he is 71. How many people do you know that can sing that good at 71? He was Great back in 68. This is one of my favorite songs from Gary Puckett and the Union Gap.
saw him on 10/05/2014 at the Rivera Theatre in N.Tonawanda, N.Y. Great show. Buckingham also performed backed by a 25 piece orchestra. Great music experience
Would you believe they played at my senior post prom party in 1968. The only problem was they showed up 4 hours late and many of us were sound asleep at our tables. He has always been huge around Pittsburgh Pa.!
i heard heart and joan jett in concern and DAMN their voices are toast. and not because of age, it's probably all their bad habits in the 70s and 80s finally caught up to them! i still love Gary no matter what ^_^
Wow, I thought it was "Danny Bonaduce" from The Partridge Family"! He looks just like him 🤣😚 And that is that "Tony Dow" from "Leave it To Beaver" on Bass singing like a Bee Gee LOL... All sounds great!
I saw one of the best concerts ever a couple of years ago - Tommy James. He did not loose a thing, beyond an amazing show. Trust me, go see him instead.
Cannot believe all of you self righteous critics out there!! This guy is a GOD of the 1960'sand he has EARNED the right to have a bad night without all of you assholes offering your "unsolicited" opinions. He sounded GREAT!!! Bet not a ONE of you could take the stage and draw this kind of crowd and sing this great. It's easy to sit here and just be smug.
redraider 55 YOU TELL EM MY FRIEND!!! I WAS 13 YEARS OLD WHEN I FIRST HEARD HIM SING WOMAN...WOMAN...I AM NOW 60 AND GARY PUCKETT IS 72.....BELIEVE YOU ME HE IS DOING FABULOUS!!! :-)
There are many catty, disrespectful, mean spirited evil comments from alot of you. To those who severely criticize, did you ever have a band, have international hits and appear on the Ed Sullivan Show and other important venues? What did you do with your lives? Did you have several top ten songs like he and his band? Have you played an instrument and composed songs? Were you a great hit in the 60s when he had to compete against the Beatles (the band that ruined all music)? He is not an idiot: he knows his voice has degraded through age and it lacks the quality of his singing 45 years ago. All things considered, it is not too bad. If you do not want to listen, quickly exit from this video and do not leave acidic remarks. He still is in shape and does an adequate job. The audience does not expect his voice to be in the same artistic shape as it was 45 years ago in 1968!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What did YOU do that was great?? To those who left caustic remarks, you are all Pr*cks and B*tch*s with attitudes. And I wasn't even a huge fan of his but some of you are petty jerks. In the 60s you had to be a big star to be on the Sullivan show-- he made it-- what did you do?
Lady Willpower, it's now or never Give your love to me and I'll shower Your heart with tenderness endlessly I know you want to see me but you're afraid Of what I might have on my mind One thing you can be sure of I'll take good care of your love If you will let me give you mine Lady Willpower, it's now or never Give your love to me and I'll shower Your heart with tenderness endlessly Did no one ever tell you the facts of life Well there's so much you have to learn And I would gladly teach you If I could only reach you And get your lovin' in return Lady Willpower, it's now or never Give your love to me and I'll shower Your heart with tenderness endlessly
His voice isn't as powerful as it once was. But hey, it's still Gary Puckett and his songs are classics that people of a certain generation can all relate to and cherish forever.
love you....GREAT VOICE.....
One of the best voices of the 60's ...thanks for all the memories
Pure power his voice. I listened to him when I was younger (in the 80's) and always told myself if I could choose a male's voice, it would be his.
Still sounds awesome, and still gorgeous !

Wow. Still a GREAT voice at his age!!
Gary Puckett just moves me man. His music is timeless.
Wow! What a good looking man.....and great voice..!
Gary Puckett possessed one of the most powerful voices in the rock era. Very very wise words Mark.
Mark Snyder He still did very well at the time for being 70 in this performance. He will always be an icon.
The audio is poor on this upload as well, so a lot of quality was lost.
tjerwin1 I TOTALLY agree with you.
UP YOURS
Used to have one of the strongest voices with great range matched with unforgettable songs. Who else could sing like that...now or then. He was a great talent with a great gift but nothing lasts forever.
My wife and I saw him at a small club in Greenwich Village,NYC,in 1989. We had a table 20 feet away. What a great time.
Ok I'm 76 & had all but forgotten Gary Pucket but came across him a few weeks ago. Been returning frequently since, loving his great songs & my nostalgic strolls down memory lane. The 60's & 70's had the best music & some truly awesome singers.
He still sounds pretty good for his age. Just great that he's still performing.

Yes, he still does have a killer voice. But I'm also impressed by the backup musicians having such such a tight blend. Not all that common.

Great vocalist, then and now. Well done Mr. Puckett.
I can sing as well as Gary Puckett... and a whole lot more. But the fact is: he did it first - it's so much easier to copy someone.

Lady Willpower, it's now or never
Give your love to me and I'll shower
Your heart with tenderness endlessly
I know you want to see me but you're afraid
Of what I might have on my mind
One thing you can be sure of
I'll take good care of your love
If you will let me give you mine
Lady Willpower, it's now or never
Give your love to me and I'll shower
Your heart with tenderness endlessly
Did no one ever tell you the facts of life
Well there's so much you have to learn
And I would gladly teach you
If I could only reach you
And get your lovin' in return
Lady Willpower, it's now or never
Give your love to me and I'll shower
Your heart with tenderness endlessly
WOW!
