The worst part of this whole thing, is that Mel "leaked" information because she was under a lot of stress, and her pet passed away, so she found someone to talk to, and said something she shouldn't
In my opinion, I agree with u. It's very unfortunate, since I follow Kobo who's interacting with Mel a lot, of course it makes me sad, but in professionalism, leaking company secrets under any circumstances is against the rules, maybe the company needs to provide psychological services in this case.

I dont think yall understand. Kobo is actually most attached to mel irl. What is shown to us is her close bond with kiara, calli, marine, haachama and lui. But outside the company thingy, she actually went to date with mel alot. She messaged her a lot saying miss you, wanna date with you. Wanna meet you~ and all that wholesome thingy. After the announcement she cried so hard and got sick, but kobo is not the type to show sadness unless it's a direct goodbye like with Sana
It was very hurtful for Kobo, she didn't wanna talk about it at first but some people just keep pestering her, very rude.
It is rude, but it's hard to blame people that are just looking for answers/closure that they have no other way of getting. Not saying it's right; just understandable.
As far as I know, Mel and Haachama are the closest JP members that Kobo ever had. They hang out a lot and stuff.
They both are precious for her, it must be very shocking for Kobo to heard about what happen to Mel
after she addressed the situation, i want to pet & hug her even more, stay strong kobo!~
the saddest part of this whole situation is that mel simply thought she was talking/venting to a friend. you really can’t trust anyone. and while still a leak that is obviously rightfully punished, some NDA breaches can be the smallest things, and judging by the way they honored/treated the termination, it likely wasn’t a huge or detrimental problem. it just happened to break the NDA, and her friend sold her out somehow. i acknowledge that mel was wrong, but i really do sympathize with her. we’re all human
Do we actually know that her friend intentionally "leaked" anything? If we don't actually know *how* Cover found out what Mel had told them, we shouldn't just assume they were malevolent.

the fact that cover know but no one outside have any information could mean that the third party blackmail cover, thats why mel said the issue has been resolved with all the parties involved.
@@johnbradshaw3001 It could as easily have been Mel letting it slip by accident to her manager or someone else, or her manager might have seen messages that had confidential information. The most obvious/likely conclusion isn't always the truth.
@@UrLeingod very unlikely, they all wants to keep her but couldn't. Even if Cover knows, if it can be resolved internally, Yagoo would do anything to keep Mel. The fact that he couldn't mean some third party that Mel talked about to her friend knows about it and complain to Cover so Cover is left with no choice.

I'm sure Mel's close friends in Holo is consoling her. Even Calli said that the termination is unfortunate and Mel is one of the nicest senpai who reached out to them when they first debuted offering help. Even with Regloss and especially with Ririka and Ao who are close to her and thankful for Mel's help Always. Calli even said it's ok to speak of Mel in her chat if they're are worried and Calli will also try her best to talk about her when she can. All of these are just unfortunate and even Yagoo and Achan thanked and wish her best. But NDAs is what keep everyone safe so Mel also understood that. In as much as "IF" they do want her to stay but it won't be a good example for all staff and talents there so they all come in between and made a choice. That's how I understood things if everyone just calmly piece things together instead of making a rukus out of it. That's the real world working for a company or in businesses. I just hope that Mel can weather through this fast. I don't want her getting depressed. Also hope she opens up to her ex Holomems and they to her. She needs people around her now. Once she's ready again, I'm sure her true fans will be there beside her.
@@Yoshikage-Kira_75 for some people it's more difficult, Mumei said it in her stream, even if she can communicating with her Holo EN members online, she is (sometimes) still feels alone and wondering what if would feels to have physical irl friends that share the same timezone as her, and can do things together, like Holo JP and Holo ID.
@@Yoshikage-Kira_75 more often than not, the internet will fail to fill in the gap. Especially in her case, she probably needs to stay as far away from the internet, because the internet was her stage. If she logs into her alt account she would want to check on her holo account and see the kind words. Unfortunately kind words would hurt you more when your problems stem from your own mistake, this I speak through experience.

This whole situation just feels rough man...my brain cant seem to stop trying to put myself in Mels shoes, all the work shes done plus the concerts coming up as well as other streams...all gone. Like id have a hard time keeping myself together especially if the reason was a slight mistake on my part.

Well especially if you on NDA/Contract, it's always better to keep things vague even when you talk to someone you trust.
The problem is, it's not that someone might backstabbed you and spill the info, but they might also spilling it without knowing it, like maybe slip of tongue, but as soon some outsider hearing it, it will go from mouth to mouth very quickly, especially in this day and age where we have access everywhere.

For something important, then yes. I never talk to anyone about important stuff. Including any kind of secrets that my friends told me. Including the classic "I'll tell you about X's secret. But don't tell anyone, okay?" where it usually will be everyone's secret in the end lol. Either small or big, if I'm told to don't tell anyone, I won't talk about it to anyone. Not even to my closest family members or bestfriends.

dmn, after digging some infos here and there, being backstabbed by a bestfriend (if its true) is one of the worst feeling, I had to go through this as well, actually 2 times, but luckily the 2nd time didn't hurt at all and was expected by me since I didn't consider the person as a best friend anymore after we talked it out after the 1st fuck up, cuz once a backstabber, alw a backstabber

Don't read so far into this. Mel had to decline because she just got the news of her termination. She would no longer be an employee and cannot use employee accounts to discuss get togethers with other people. What they do on their own time, outside of Hololive and away from you or me? It's still mel's responsibility to not leak, but also the friend in this case would have had to leak the leak to someone that would then have said info get back to cover
If their friend says nothing, there is no way to show or prove Mel leaked info

sadly it is because contract law is fucked. NDA's don't exactly outline a whole lot of exceptions in them, and leniency can actually cause more problems; for example someone fired for violating NDA may sue if they find out a lighter punishment was given for the same violation; It also weakens the contract which can lead to more leaks and thus more risk for the talents themselves in Covers case, the NDA protects them and their projects as well.
the end result is what looks to me like 2 hurt parties having no choice but to make a decision no one actually wanted to make. its just ... a sad situation.

Honestly despite being "terminated", it's more or less on good terms. They even let her manager to post her last words on her account. Even YAGOO expressed his unwillingness but legality is just another thing entirely. If anything, it's so clean it's actually the best possible outcome considering the legal issues that may sprout from the situation that could take advantage from either Mel, Cover, or the said third party..... which I DO hope it's really that clean.

How could they not cut some lean on one of their most senior members, it's not like she had some nuclear codes or whatever.
The fact that not even Fubuki knew what was going on because it happened so fast and Mel's rough history with management is worrying.
Maybe it's her choice, who know? Even he bye bye massage from Yagoo himself than any terminated talent(as far as I know) so, maybe it's her choice because of guilty. You know Japanese people is always a responsible one and so sensitive about a mistake. Even their goverment when making a mistake always resign themself from the government because of guilty and embarrassment. So maybe that's what Mel feeling. Until it's clear what's wrong with this incident we can't blame anyone.
NDAs are a big deal in Japan. Because a broken NDA is broken trust and there is no leeway to give. Cover is on the stock exchange and have to answer to many investors. If cover cut Mel any slack the auditors will go for their asses and Yagoo might instead be the one the chopping block.
It could’ve been worse. I’ve heard of broken NDAs in Japan leading straight to prison time. Immediate termination is pretty standard.

From the way Mel spoke about it she could have just been suspended but she didn't want them to go easy on her.
If they "cut some lean" they open themselves AND the other talents for legal complications if one of the affected 3rd parties in the info she leaked decides to sue, plus it would set a precedence where if someone else in future does something similar, they can argue "but you let it slide with Mel"....I think Cover didn't want to do this BUT the situation got their hands tied, plus in any company, NDAs are NDAs, wether YOU like it or not....Besides, if you read what Mel wrote on her PL xtwitter account you will see it was decided by her and Cover, not just Cover, she took responsibility for her mistake and the termination was the only viable option for all parties, and if you see the messages from Cover and other talents, it was an "amicable" termination, no ill will between them, but in this day and age if a company lets one talent free, how can they enforce the contract obligations with the other talents without being accused of favoritism?
