in highschool I preferred Miss Marple to Hercule Poirot which is a bit of an 'unpopular' opinion I suppose, haha! Agatha Christie is just the queen of murder mystery regardless though.
Also I just finished Reckless Girls & it I enjoyed it. I loved the setting/atmosphere & the protagonist. I definitely figured out what was happening early on but still enjoyed the twists & turns.
who doesn't love a good burder mystery 😂 nine lives was one of my most anticipated but it just didn't do it for me, great premise though! the Paris apartment is my favourite Lucy foley so far, I listened to the audiobook too and having the French accents really took me into the book. I have an arc of the it girl and now I'm even more excited to read it! the woman in the library and the retreat sound really interesting too 😁 fab recommendations as always you queen 🤍🔪
The Woman in the Library for kindle is on sale! Can’t wait to read! The Murder at Evensong looks so charming, I appreciate all your UK recs that we might not hear about in US!
I need to hear all your thoughts on Nine Lives! There are so many mixed reviews! The Woman in the Library was nothing like expected. I have such mixed feelings!
I bought The Woman in the Library on Amazon UK and got the US cover. I didn’t even realise there was a different UK cover! I also have a Murder Before Evensong and I’m hoping it’s a good read.
That’s one of my faves too! I’ve read all of his books and I recommend reading 8 Perfect Murders (I think it has a different name in the UK maybe?). I didn’t hate Nine Lives as much as everyone else, but I didn’t really like it either. It def wasn’t as good as 8 Perfect Murders imo!
I think you shouldn't waste your time with Peter Swanson....I love cozy mysteries, have you try Jana DeLeon books? Her Louisiana series is so much fun!
I'm not sure I've ever seen you mention a James Patterson book. I'm starting to get back into reading more, and I love the genre. Is Patterson not well liked?
I really enjoyed Eight Perfect Murders by Peter Swanson. I think you'd like that one. I decided not to read his Nine Lives. Only thing is Eight Perfect Murders spoils the "how" in several old mystery books. So you might want to research that before reading it.
Unfortunately, The Woman In The Library is one of the worst books I've ever read. I was particularly disappointed in it being from the Boston area, it has absolutely nothing to do with actual Massachusetts.
I read the woman in the library because of Mara and it was just ok for me, but I’m not a big fan of books in books. I’m looking forward to the retreat but I really hope she has a different partner or that he’s not in this one because I hated him and her brother so much
I love murder mysteries both movies/shows/books. I love shows like Midsummer Murders and Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries and Father Brown. I want to start reading the Phryne Fisher murder mystery series. I think that is something you might like. It is historical. Also the Midsummer Murders is also based on a book series that I think I want to read and compare. Also here in America there is Hallmark Movies and Mysteries where they have awesome tv movies based on actual murder mystery books. Like Aurora Teagarden series which is based on the Charline Harris (the author of True Blood) where it is about a librarian in a small that is part of this club called the Real Murders Club where they discuses murders and cold cases and crime. The movies and the books are different. the movies are more tamed then the books. One YA that came out this year that I am not sure you have heard of or not. You might have. It is called Win, Lose, Kill, Die by Cynthia Murphy. It is like a slasher, horror, murder mystery, dark academia all combined into one book. I loved it! If you ever want to read it I highly recommend the audiobook for it.
I absolutely loved the Maid, I listened to the audiobook and thought Molly was really sweet. If you can look past the neurodivergance not being specifically addressed it’s really good. I feel like as someone whose possibly on the spectrum it doesn’t really bother me, and my brother is diagnosed on the spectrum too. But it all really comes down to the individuals perspective and what they can take in a book. More and more authors are writing books through the voice of characters with things that they aren’t or haven’t personally experienced, and I think that has to be researched and done well if it’s being done I.e TJR with Evelyn Hugo, I wasn’t really affected as a bisexual with that. Saying that people should be made aware of the fact that Nina isn’t on the spectrum herself, at least she hasn’t spoken about it. Edit: The end of the maid really let it down for me, I actually screamed. It was gonna be a 5 star but I had to lower it to 4.5 for that
miss aldridge regrets was one of the most disappointing reads for the year for me 😣 the main character was really dull and the plot was extremely boring and predictable
I'm.also excited for Richard Osmans next book, out in September I think
Yep!!!

You are absolutely right people do these atrocities for books very bad thinking and trapping and chasing Innocents because of Jealousy and hates
Our Book club Talks n Thoughts book club is reading The Woman in the Library this month. I’ve already got the ebook. Excited to see it on this list
Also I just finished Reckless Girls & it I enjoyed it. I loved the setting/atmosphere & the protagonist. I definitely figured out what was happening early on but still enjoyed the twists & turns.
I just finished reading all of the miss marples books so I cannot wait for the anthology

I’ll read Marple and the woman in the library. Thank you for the recommendations ❤️
I just received The Woman in the Library in a book subscription box. I can’t wait to read it.
🔪 I think The It Girl is def more murder mystery than thriller. I didn’t love it, but I think you’ll enjoy it a lot!!
Omg you’re a fashion icon, I love your tops and dresses
I need to hear all your thoughts on Nine Lives! There are so many mixed reviews!
The Woman in the Library was nothing like expected. I have such mixed feelings!
Thank you!! I just read a "mystery and thriller" list that was literally all thrillers.
Oh, Marple looks amazing!
That copy of the maid is so much better than the original

Just read The Villa. 5 stars.
look at me adding all of these books to my TBR 👀
I love your murder mystery recommendations 😼⛏
I read The Kind Worth Killing by Peter Swanson & really, really loved it. I’m definitely curious about his new one.

@@jillypepper_ Nice! I will check it out (I’m in Canada).

What store did you get your tbr cart from. So many stores have them but I like the look of yours. Every store has a slightly different one.
English is my second language and I'm probably wrong but i think she means "gasp" when she says "gag".
A murder is announced is one of the best agatha’s book and it’s by miss Marble highly recommended
Great video!
ahhhhhh I need the it girl
I'm not sure I've ever seen you mention a James Patterson book. I'm starting to get back into reading more, and I love the genre. Is Patterson not well liked?
It's more political. "GO WOKE GO BROKE"

Jesus Christ! When that subscribe button whizzed on the screen I jumped out of my skin! I was not expecting it! 😱😮💨😅
I really need to pick some of these up because they all sound so good! I haven’t read a murder mystery in a while and I have to remedy that. 🔪🔪🔪
Idk if you've head of this book, but I heard the madiens is good.
hi you don't need to read Agatha christie in order to enjoy the books they don't link together in anyway each book is a stand alone book xx
Unfortunately, The Woman In The Library is one of the worst books I've ever read. I was particularly disappointed in it being from the Boston area, it has absolutely nothing to do with actual Massachusetts.

The It Girl sounds like pretty little liars, so I'm not sure if I want to read it.

100% yes to Miss Fisher!! I would also love to read the books as the show is one of my favorites.
Me: watches a video about the MOST exciting murder mysteries of the year.
You: I didn't really like the first two very much
🤨

I love a good murder mystery 🔪
Don’t get too excited for The Paradox Hotel, it sounds more interesting than it actually is, the execution failed a little.
🗡️
