Thanks man, I’m using a 9 foot 6 weight sage x. It’s my favorite rod that gets the most use. A 10 foot 7 weight would probably be better for this type of nymphing for Great Lakes steelhead though
@@Shonny_bravo I fished the Salmon River back in the late 80’s when I lived in CT. Caught salmon and steelhead but mostly salmon. Sometimes in very crowded conditions but still fun.
Let him fight the fish. It's called "fishing" not "netting".
I thought you did a good job playing that fish. Nice rod control when she jumped. What rod/weight were you using.

Doesn't count when the net is a 100 yards from the rod. No pic of the catch.
What's the point.
My guess is a steelhead on a river feeding Lake Ontario? Very nice catch.
Thanks man! You got it!

@@billschafer9668yeah it’s definitely a special fishery. You should make another trip!
probably a nice fish but you need a better guide
Shouldn't wade out to the fish 😢
This looks like the raven fork confluence in Cherokee.
I’ll upload a video from raven fork trophy section. This isn’t it though. This is in WNY
@Shonny_bravo crazy how I thought that. I've fished that place many times, and caught many a good fish there.
When you point your rod at the fish, you are not helping yourself.
