Catalysts come with a bag of longer pins, that is where the traction is. Newer catalysts do have more pins.
I remove all the pins and just use 9 long pins. Really good traction. I pedal mid foot with these pedals.
After using them for 5 years I wouldnt use anything else on Mt bikes. No more pedal strikes than any other pedal

I'm a huge fan of these pedals. In the rock garden is where I love them the most. Such a stable platform when you're bouncing around.

Been using these for 2 years. I will never go back to any other flats. Got rid of my other expensive flats after 2 months. Still wondering why these have not caught on more. I too have had less strikes and my PRs on downhill sections have gone up.

Growing up racing BMX I found mid pedal was best position for power

They work as advertised for me. I have standard sized pedals on my second bike and notice a huge performance drop along with increased foot fatigue.

Thinking about picking up a set of these to see how I like them. Thanks for the review. I agree, I wish they had done a few more pins, but maybe they were worried about weight. :)

I ordered the Crankbrothers Stamp 3 in the large as I have a size 13.

Just ordered a set to go with my new Trek Farley EX 8. I wear size 12 shoes and have flat feet with arthritis in my ankle from years of dumb stuff. Looking forward to these, because like others, I love platforms and refuse to use clipless.

How are you finding these pedals? I too an a suffer of various foot issues and am curious about the benefits.

Just what kind of shoe to wear ? How will you ever know that you've optimized the foot position? When pedaling? Would it vary each time your take off and put on your foot on the pedals?

I am a BMX Racer who races Flats! Forte Concave w/ Five Tens at only 5'2 I am wondering if the Catalyst pedal might be too big for my 8.5 size shoe. I am determined Not to go "Clipless" It scares the BeeJeeBee's out of me! lol. Plus the weight of the pedal is another concern. I agree with you about the amount of pins... There should be more of them!!... Thanks.. Ride On... Race On!!

Yvette Padilla Hey, BMX Racer here as well ^^ Maybe for racing these are way too big. Mostly because you'll be jumping and manualling all the time, and that is normally done with the front end of your foot. But that's just my opinion :) good luck!!
(Sorry if there are any mistakes, English is not my mother tongue)

I liked the video, but I found it hard to hear your voice over the music in the first segment.

0ne problem nobody ever says ANYTHING about the MOST IMPORTANT thing..... build; bearings? bushing? rollers? axle steel? i looked to you b/c he is so quiet about the quality i was VERY disappointed you didn't address this also you mentioned the con of low pins. so can we add pins? is this something i can get in the hardware store?

These are made with the same bearings as the VP pedals and are manufactured at the same factory
My set spins very smooth but i've only been riding them a month

it says sealed bearings and DU bushings internals .... what that means ?

      El Jefe
This uses the sealed bearings, You're looking at the VP Harrier pedal and the only reason they use the DU Bushings is to make it thinner, which is not the case here

The updated version has 2 more grub screws (pins) in the middle and also comes with a bag of more aggressive (longer) pins.
I personally run 3 long pins on the front, 3 long on the rear and the rest short pins.
Amazing grip with my fiveten shoes!

Why are motocross skill instructors teaching the opposite? Is it possible that we had it backward all this time?
