My 11-years old kid is a social 6, while I'm 5w4 (SX) and my wife is 4 (SP). I think he needs to feel comfortable within his group, being accepted, listened and respected. Sometimes, when he feels confident, he's a true leader in his team/group, but many other times he feels unsecure, hurt and doesn't even want to participate and his soul leaves the group in silence :-( I'm afraid I have many problems to understand his feelings, because I don't share his social concerns, and I guess I'm usually not acting as a good father. My wife is more sensitive and understands him better, but maybe both of us need to learn how to help him better.
So beautiful that you are really trying to understand him☺️ I am a 6 sp and what I need the most and what I needed the most in childhood is being listened to - and maybe also someone who believes in me and that I have some power in me. Also if I feel that the people I care about are there for me when I get reactive - and understand that I am making things “bigger than they are” out of fear, I will tend to feel very safe and open out about my fears.
I always tested as self-preservation 6w5, but an enneagram coach said I'm a self-preservation tritype 269, leading with 2w1. Watching your videos, really 2w1, 9w1, or 6w5 could fit me. self-preservation on all that, still. Neither me nor the coach think I lead with 9w1 even though we think its in my tritype. Is there a way to suss out whether my core is self-pres 2w1 or self-pres 6w5?
The subtypes are separate from the core type and trifix fixations So you are SP dominant in all your tritype numbers according to Katherine Fauvre. It looks like 2 SP/SX/SO for example 6 SP/SX/SO 9 SP/SX/SO Your instinctual subtype doesn't change it goes dominant/healthy/blind spot. Your middle number shows up most in the tritype because it influences the other two numbers so you'll look like a 6ish 2 or a 6ish 9, 6 will stand out more and you can often mistype as a 6 when really you maybe a 2.
@@jacquesjoyeaux716 I got a second enneagram coach thinking I'm a Sp 9, and a third thinking Sp 6. All of these people typed me for free. I'm a public school teacher and I'm out for the summer, so I'm trying to pass time doing enneagram without spending a lot of money.

I don't think you'll find your answer with a coach. Probably from within yourself. One day it may just click and you'll be sure.
Interesting!
