I'm not usually a fan of oc insert mods, but this was well done. Lili is different and not crazy like Ashley enough where it becomes interesting to see the direction of the story.

The mod is quite interesting. I liked Lili's idea more than Ashley's because Lili tends to bring a more humane perspective to such a desperate situation. However, given that I always tend to positively perceive all fan modifications for all possible games, this game is too crude. The authors probably simply could not work out a different storyline, because the game is tied to such terrible things, but they have characters, locations and other things from the original. The audience ready to look at such projects is huge, so maybe it was worth coming up with something more innovative. I'm interested in Cali's character, but the acting is very raw, the setup for the second episode doesn't ask as many questions as it should, Ashley appearing out of nowhere is the only question we have to wait for an answer to. I would like to believe that in the second episode new details will be revealed, for example, the unsolved topic of Cali’s mother, why she is such a stupid and primitively aggressive fool, etc. Nina's theme, is Cali related to her in any way? And considering that the original developer is preparing a huge third episode with 99+ hours of content, then given the disclosure of the entire plot from the author’s point of view, the developers of this mod will have more opportunities. As a result of the mod at 4/10 for now, it's not so terrible, it's NOT JUST a copied game with another character, besides, the Cali sprite and art style seemed to me prettier than in the original, and even more prettier than in the tcoaar mod. Just imagine, revealing the plot from the point of view of modification, for example, look: Cali, who is trying to convince Andrew that murder is bad, and the MURDERLY terrible Ashley, whom we know very well. With this crazy world out there, what if they're both just internal personalities of Andrew that don't exist, like in the movie Fight Club? Okay, I'm out of my mind.
She is oh so pure, but just can't hide the hate for the lady downstairs - calling her a rat and other naughty words and even contemplates killing her after acquiring the gun (low-key set on doing so), but gets oh so disappointed after Andrew already made her wish a reality. Also the way Ashley just appeared out of nowhere and is there talking like a tulpa to god knows who is not helping. Feels like she is there just for the sake of it + it's really weird how LeyLey's name is hidden behind question marks but Ashley's isn't (in the nurse/call scene + ending)? Not like we were given literally any information about her in this game besides some memories from the protagonists for her to not have her name hidden. I would criticize other things like the Mom or her EX sequences present in the game but it's probably personal since it's a self-insert game therefore I can't really comment much on that matter, so I won't, even though i think they suck. I didn't expect much from a self-insert game but this was less than good. And the unpolished sprites do not help (they are constantly changing in width, making my eyes suffer). I don't think anything can carry this project besides the art that was OK (low-key better than the tcoaal mod with Renee?imoimo) It's E for Effort but realistically it's 0/10 would never play again.

I genuinely don't get why OC has a hat and necklace when in most scenes she isn't wearing a hat and gets the necklace later in the story. It's also not really clear to me on what her relationship with Andrew is, girlfriend? No but they have made out before. Maybe a side piece or a roommate? This is just a first episode from a small team so it shouldn't be judged too harshly.
@@hughjanus2066 some of its concepts and story beats are extremely childish, uninteresting, and repeatfull, its bad fanfiction even if she doesnt speak a word of english.
I like the concept it's not really that bad my little complain is how this Lili OC is totally a different drawn style I find her own being way and way more expressive then the original too but you can't make characters in a mod with different drawing styles.

Among the TCOAAL mods, I think this one is the least interesting. I'm not saying it's bad or that the user has done a bad job, just that at a narrative level she has contributed absolutely nothing. In the case of the mod where Ashley is replaced with Renee, at least we were able to have a more interesting interaction, there was a really noticeable change in the story, in the interactions between the protagonists, etc. While here, except for some dialogues, absolutely everything happens the same without contributing anything new or striking with the character that replaces Ashley, at least with Renee there was a change with Nina's accident, but here it is literally the same as in the game. The person who made the game has potential, but I can't see this game as anything other than a desire to have her character with Andrew and that's it, instead of creating a project that can expand or change something in the game world.
