I loooooove my torch! I usually hit weeds with vinegar in the morning, and on a hot sunny day, they’ll be dried up some by evening. Hit em with the torch then and they completely disappear. Good times.

In Arizona where I live, the dry ground is hard. After a good rain or a soaking with a water hose you can pull weeds very easily. Most of the weeds here are a single rood which will sometimes reach down five or six inches which are easily pulled. I have a kneeler to kneel to weed.

I just bought a 500,000 btu torch off amazon and OMG you can do some damage with this thing. it has a lever to turbo blast and WOW you can feel the heat. I had a hose on standby in case I set something on fire that wasnt supposed to be.

Can I send you a picture of a type of grass that is invading my lawn. It's a very green grass with tiny round seed pods extending at the end of the grass blade. Tried cutting the grass and roots out of the area only to have it show up someplace else in the yard. Seems to spread quickly.

@@stevenelson504 the problem grass you describe in response to "creative ways to get rid of weeds" - silver cymbal ... sounds like a form of sedge. (I AM BATTLING THE SAME) I have both yellow and purple nuts edge, as well as green Kalinga. All spread quickly, however the Kalinga is the worst. It came in with some topsoil, I believe. I am about to try Sedgehammer on my front lawn. The backyard is kept as organic as possible, so I have been bagging the grass. As well as torching those weeds with mixed results. Hand pulling is a slow painful process. You might try putting down a pre emergent weed killer as well.

An entire section of my mom's lawn is nothing but stickers. They're not exactly goat heads, but close. They're fairly new. Stick to car tires and shoes. They hurt to step on barefoot. I wonder if we can burn them all safely and effectively?

You shouldn't burn the weed away with the torch. Hit it just long enough to see it wilt then back off, it bursts the cells in leaves and causes the roots to put energy into trying to repair them. The weed will have a much harder time coming back because it won't be able to repair the cells in the leaves and it will waste energy trying to do it. A good way to tell if you did it right is to lightly squeeze a leaf between your fingers afterwards and see if it leaves a fingerprint. If you get that's fingerprint staying you're all set, if not just hit it again. This doesn't work that well on grass though so you're better off using a spray weed killer.

    • @SilverCymbal

Silver Cymbal you have been mute on the questions I have been asking both here and Instagram. Most of the products you show in your videos for lawns , if you don’t put the link is hard to find because
      1. the Lesco fertilizer for winterize , there is no where to find the exact one you had in the video. Lesco turf fertilizer 18-0-12
      2. Also please in your videos some of the routines it will be helpful to give us the time of application like what month in the season do you do that example the winterize method - in what month do you do it.
      3. How often is tenacity method used

    Dont burn the weed totaly!
What you should do is to burn it lightly becuase then the cellstruckture in the viseble part of the weed will pop and be destroyed and this will kill the rootsystem as well.
