Let's whittle this smiling little dwarf. It is small fun project for your free relaxing time. I really enjoy to carve while listening to radio so maybe you will too.
This dwarf is also good practice for basic figure whittling. I am sure it will help you in your progress and you will be satisfied from your work.
    Enjoy, Vladimir

Thanks for the tutorial. I have seen lots of Dwarf examples but the one you show in this video is a little bit different to most of them and I like that. Nice and small, too.
UPDATE: Just completed the smiling dwarf with 2" x 1" x 1" Lime; the smaller details took a bit of time because with 60-year old eyes, it's not so easy - but it is done!

Wonderful explanations in all of your videos. Very easy to follow and understand. I hope to give this little gnome project a try. I may try to change him into a small Santa or elf helper. These would make great Christmas gifts or Christmas ornaments for Christmas trees. Finished or painted they would look nice. Thank you very much my friend. You are an inspiration for us all.

This is a great tutorial! My only problem is that my 60 yr old female hands and arm have no “brute strength “ so I take about 20 cuts to your one! (And I can only do it for short periods at a time). But it’s fun learning a new skill and you are great at explaining every step! Thank you Vladimir and Home Wood Spirit!

Vladimir, I love your tutorials. They are prefect for the beginner carver like myself. Your instructions are very clear and precise. Your camera angles and close ups allow us to see exactly how you make each cut. I am learning a lot from you. Thank you very much for sharing your skills so we can learn this wonderful craft. I have been looking for a thumb guard just like the one you have. Would you please share with us where you got yours? Cheers!

I started carving only a few months ago, and your little dwarf is my third project)) I bought a cheap set of knives, but now I want to go further. So it would be very interesting for me to know what brand of carving knives you use in your videos. Great job! Respect and best wishes from Germany 👍

don't try too catch knives when they fall. It''s easier to put an edge than fixing a body part. Just speaking from experience.
