I’m so glad that you went over this topic because I feel like a common misconception is that acting is easy…going through training more intensively now it’s much more apparent that it’s not easy to make it look “easy.” SO many things that are put into an actors performance that aren’t on the surface.
I started very late. I was trying to get into these academies where people who couldn't sing for the life of them and had perfectly robotic execution would get accepted. I think I found my place and this director says a lot of the same things that you are saying about releasing she said "Let things happen to you". I stand by this in life.
