This was a favorite of mine in the beginning and still is today. Just love how Kaito's voice flows and the entire tone of the music. And I really want to know more about the story behind the video...
Like the comment far below, I do think that Kaito was a soldier or militia & never saw Miku again. After the events at 00:36 & 1:19. The reason why he was singing he'll protect her & color the world w/ red. He was her protector since they were young though, I think (3:04). My theory is he didn't die as a soldier but dying from illness instead. Or that was just his soul wandering before he accepted his fate? I'm not sure about this. Since he didn't saw the girl again & her whereabouts was unknown, so he was singing her good farewell & etc. He died, saw Miku again! (4:39) and flashback (4:51) then a helluva good ending (4:58). The song was his melancholic point of view & he didn't know these - 0:27 & 1:56 (Miku's already an angel). I like the lyrics about monochrome world & coloring it red then the reversed cross - symbolizing *melancholy, brutal pain & forsake*. But the cross at the end wasn't reversed.... Heaven is real! Finally, I made a complete understanding or just a believable theory about Kaito's song after 1st watching this MV 6 years ago! xD Prequel - Wandering Start - Reason (This should be the 1st, but the video creators like to mess w/ us) Opening doors - Acceptance Closing doors - Farewell & Death Undestroyed Church (Heaven, perhaps?) - Reunion *Basically, Kaito & Miku never saw each other after some unfortunate events. However, they met again on the other side.*
I love this song~ Personally, I think the story is that their home gets ravaged by war (making it "monochrome". To protect Miku, Kaito goes off to fight (coloring it red) and it last a couple years. He almost dies and hopes Miku will move on without him, but he survives, the war ends, and when he returns, she's there waiting for him.
As a KaixMiku shipper, this song is heart-wrenching. It's still exceedingly beautiful all the same, though (and, as someone else pointed out, I get a really familiar feeling/deja vu listening to its melody).
Amazing! Kaito is for the win! He is amazing and people should reconize his own talent. Miku is nice but having a guy singing things is a great change! I love all the vocaloids! I think they all should be used and watch/listened to evenly if that!
this song makes me cry. i literally burst into tears when I hear it. When I first listened to it, I didn't like it, I thought it was boring. But then I came back to it, and now I cry whenever I hear it. Such a pretty song.
This was one of the first Kaito songs I ever listened to... I remember not being able to understand it very well, and therefore not liking it, but today I decided to give it another chance and I'm so glad I did!
Interesting, but I don't think it has to do with the Aku no series, because as far as I can tell, here Miku is alive. Also, in the Aku no series, Kaito and Miku are from different countries ("the Blue one over the sea" "but he fell in love with the Green women for the neighbouring kingdom") and here they seems to have grew up together. But yeah, I love the Aku no series too, both the story and the songs ^^
@Rainbowstarz8 I KNOW! I've taken to listening to this after a long and aggrivating night at work (aka right now) it's melancholy beauty leaves me in a..trance like state. and if I listen to it 3 times in a row it even helps to remove my headache
2:19 in the song and I notice it reads "I present the sacrifice to the reversed cross" ...Anyone besides me get a bad vibe off that or am I just being silly?
I also believe in the theory that the sick-looking business man was one of the culprits with accomplices not only because it seems his hat was in the water, but also because during 3:41 where it shows the cards, it also shows the business man for the Queen card, which I believe implies that the business is indeed included as one of the suspects for this theft. I believe one of his accomplices was the mafia (Len) because during 0:46 the lines say, "The police are coming aboard? And that sick-looking businessman... It seems he's involved with the mafia behind him?" To be honest, this could be directed towards cop (Rin) by how the cop (Rin) is looking back which seems to be at the mafia guy (Len), but I believe it also could be towards the sick business man as the lines said "he". I also think the mafia guy was supposed to distract the cop, so maybe the businessman could steal the cop's gun possibly. Another accomplice I believe is either the doctor or the waitress because after the lights come back on the politician (Kaito) has blood coming out of his mouth and all that, so I believe it could've been poisoning by any chance... And the ones who could've done that would be the doctor; the one who was giving him medicine, or the waitress; the one who was giving him his drink. I'm not quite sure about this one, so correct me if you think I'm wrong. The last I believe to be an accomplice is the mechanic (Mayu), since I believe she is the only one who would be able to cause the power outage that happened for a short amount of time. Also, I kind of suspect how she was almost late to the ship in the beginning, but there's a possibility she just overslept or something. To me though, it indicated that she didn't really take her job seriously or something like that. ...Although now that I think about it, the Queen card could have been to represent the Phantom Thief F, but the figure looks like the sick business man so that could also mean something. Well, all in all, this is just a theory.
i can never stop listening to this....i listen to it constantly.....kaitos voice is so sexy sounding and mikus souds just like an angel......i wish i sounded just like her...
This reminds me of Lord Skye. Not so much the protecting part but the title, the first lines, and in particular 'coloring the monochrome world red' lol.
[PART 3] even though it is obvious he loves her, this makes me believe that she does not know of his feeling for her, or that for whatever reason they are not able/allowed to love each other. When he speaks of vanishing he says that there is nothing left he wants, and you see an image of her fading, is he going to kill himself because he has lost her? but at the same time he also tells her that she should forget him, which makes me think that she's still alive, but still cannot be with him.
It is intentionally vague, even the original PV was said to be "just one of the possible interpretations". So it is up to you to guess what happened. May be we can hope for sequals that will give us more hint. (For now, SoundFive's Lelouch and Nunnally theory sorta works XD)
I interpret this as relating strongly to the "evil" vocoloid saga. As in, when Ren burned down Miku's "green" kingdom, and Kaito swore revenge by bloody ("red") revolution. That kind of thing. And if you have no idea what I'm talking about, you should research it (strting with "the daughter of evil") a bit here on youtube. It's really a very good story.
@littleitalylover In the United Kingdom, Canada, and other countries somehow affiliated to what used to be the British Empire use the British spelling of words. "Colour" is how "color" is written with the British spelling. Hokorichan is from Hong Kong, which was part of the British Empire and was only given back to its rightful owners. China, in the end of the 20th century.
This is so beautiful! Thank you so much for translating this! =D Would it be alright if I used your lyrics? I would of course credit you and post a link back to you.
I thought of this as KAITO will do anything to protect Miku and her happiness, even color the world red [which can also mean love/passion? IDK] The sacrifice was himself, he sacrificed himself for her. But that's just what I'm getting, lol~
you know this could be an continuation to the daugter of evil story. like after mikus death, you see more into what he is thinking, and his concultion to take revenge on the princess. with the right video you could really change the story to that. i do like the video now too though.
I am wrong hère i wanted everyone to have a good Heart but to existe i Guess if i met people i will be happy since i have nothing to protect only me will understand what i'm saying but do WE have to live to have a mission ...yes do WE have to live with goals of course i miss thé World of my childwood my purity and my sanity now i wanna play mayonaka no orchestra bye have a nice life
[PART 5] Alternatively, the ending might be that he did kill himself (she had died before then, leaving him with nothing left to live for) and he see's her in heaven. This would explain the cross as well as explaining why the church is shown once again in pristine condition, despite being shown burned and charred earlier. This doesn't really explain why she's happy about him having "colored everything in red" though. So none of my theories are really perfect... :/ [Sorry I wrote so much!]
@Mousefern its not an anime. its a program called vocaloid, they make songs and little stories like this. there MAY be a slight chance of an anime though.
I think this is about witch hunts. I think that Miku is accused of being a witch and Kaito, trying to protect her, goes on a killing spree. His actions only convince her accusers, and she gets burned in front of an unsympathetic (Hung) crowd. I think she isn't the first, hence Kaito's reference to burned bodies. I think he commits suicide to be with her, even though she tells him to move on without her, and they meet in death.
I know she is not human, and sorry for answering so late, but you still do use a name that is not yours....I am glad your favorite character is Gakupo, its nice!:DD but then, make an account of your real life you, who is not miku, so people knows you and read your comments as you, and not hatsune. Personally, when i see a hatune
@Pandorahearts, don't worry, it's in the beginning too. This song remids me of the Holocaust, but I'm at a loss as to which country. Poland? France? England?!
This was a favorite of mine in the beginning and still is today. Just love how Kaito's voice flows and the entire tone of the music. And I really want to know more about the story behind the video...
+dreamweaver515 Same here. Don't understand why it isn't famous & there's no info about the song or video.
The beautiful quality of their voices really do shine in this number, and the overall background music has a medieval/angelical feel to it.
Like the comment far below, I do think that Kaito was a soldier or militia & never saw Miku again. After the events at 00:36 & 1:19. Prequel - Wandering
Start - Reason (This should be the 1st, but the video creators like to mess w/ us)
Opening doors - Acceptance
Closing doors - Farewell & Death
Undestroyed Church (Heaven, perhaps?) - Reunion
*Basically, Kaito & Miku never saw each other after some unfortunate events. However, they met again on the other side.*
thanks for the explaining i watched this song since i ship Miku x Kaito since i learned what Vocaloid is
I love this song~

This is one of my oldest and favorite Kaito songs! It's always such a treat to listen to.
If i were to choose someone to create and sing lyrics for Zelda songs. It would be Kaito. *^*
WOW!! this is so beautiful!! the way how Kaito's voice is so tenor-y, and Miku's so high and cute in the background, it really blends really well!
As a KaixMiku shipper, this song is heart-wrenching. It's still exceedingly beautiful all the same, though (and, as someone else pointed out, I get a really familiar feeling/deja vu listening to its melody).
i love v1 kaito
real
Amazing! Kaito is for the win! He is amazing and people should reconize his own talent. Miku is nice but having a guy singing things is a great change! I love all the vocaloids! I think they all should be used and watch/listened to evenly if that!
I love all the different musical elements used. The vocals, the chorus, and the symphonic vibe.
this song makes me cry. i literally burst into tears when I hear it. When I first listened to it, I didn't like it, I thought it was boring. But then I came back to it, and now I cry whenever I hear it. Such a pretty song.

This song is so beautiful and sad... I'm never going to forget this song.
Whoa, this song is a little bit melancholic, it's beautiful 5/5
this song is haunting, but it's so beautiful :o
I am gonna cry of how loving Kaito sounds . TT.TT If my family needs me i will be crying myself to sleep . Kaito singing this makes me cry.
:3 Love it! They were reunited in the end and still so in love!!!
5:08 rin and len are angels in the picture XD
ok now don't cry *still hugs*
one of my new favorite kaito songs for sure.
wow, this song is SO calming!!
the song's beautiful, the PV is absoloutely stunning...i don't know what else to say =)

Yeah! It does have that feel to it, especially the harp.
No idea what this song is about but it’s amazing
Before Kaito started singing, the intro sounded like an adventure RPG game's opening :D
Thank you so much! ^__^
I was going to use it for an AMV, Code Geass to be specific. =3 I hope that's okay.
killing for the cross, an idiotic excuse for a horrible deed...
amazing video none the less, I love the song x3
OMG BEST VIDEO EVER!!!!!!
@CaptainKanta Thank you! finally, someone who isnt a MeiKaito fan!
Sounds so freaking mystical B)
@Rainbowstarz8 I KNOW! I've taken to listening to this after a long and aggrivating night at work (aka right now) it's melancholy beauty leaves me in a..trance like state. and if I listen to it 3 times in a row it even helps to remove my headache

Hahaha, I love how at 4:49 Gakupo, Meiko, Rin, & Len snuck into this PV somehow XD
i can never stop listening to this....i listen to it constantly.....kaitos voice is so sexy sounding and mikus souds just like an angel......i wish i sounded just like her...
It kind of sounds like a legend of zelda song
I feel it should be
OMFG!! THIS IS SOO COOOOL! XD
BEAUTIFUL ♥

The pictures are beautiful
I like this song.
miku looks like ruika(skuld),in global garden...it's so beautyful!!
i love this song

*hugs Kaito* it'll be ok
I like how they get married in the end, it's cute. :)
that... was... EPIC
uwaa~ Miku-tenshi at teh beginning :D
THIS SONG REMINDS ME OF THE LEGEND OF ZELDA SO MUUCHHH!!
aw. so cute!
i just noticed how the stained glass window has the vocaloid characters in it.
@ZanaBonanza
Yeah, that makes more sense.
At 3:11 , it looked like the scene where Ikuto was protecting Utau back when they were little, in Shugo Chara!
This is so beautiful! Thank you so much for translating this! =D
Would it be alright if I used your lyrics? I would of course credit you and post a link back to you.

@sharshop22 Yup Yup! but Inuyasha still got the song mostly from the song called Green Sleeves :P
yeah! awesome! i was so amazed kaito is my favourite vocaloid and LOZ series are my favourite games of all time haha!

yaay! we have a mini crew of zelda/kaito people!
Most of the beautiful songs / videos hardly have any comment on them and views.
切り絵の世界❣️
@PSIDontKnow really! cool!
theres so many takes on this video
@MsRiotte
ikr especially at 2:51...
lol yeah been thinking that for a while now :) that its so close to LOZ!
What if Avanna sings this? I guess it'll be a pretty good cover, don't you think? It has the Celtic vibe to it . . .
I wish I understood what this is about, but great song still, I love it
@Mousefern its not an anime. its a program called vocaloid, they make songs and little stories like this. there MAY be a slight chance of an anime though.
@DAOW17
it does help calm the mind and soul. ( i think these are the same.)
even when she wielded those swords? oh, well... everyone has their own opinions I guess. And I respect that. ^__^
@cantthinkofanynames1 -noticed this and then noticed that it didnt have any thumbs up so thumbs it up-
Why does this song sound so familiar?
I'm not sure if this is where you'd recognize it, but it is similar to a Legend of Zelda tune.
It's also similar to Scarborough Fair, I think.
no i havent hear legnd of zelda or scarbourough fair o.o
It kind of makes think of the song Purple Forest
maybe just me but the old day settings
buildings burning down
but i do agree its like adventure game kinda
at 4:45 that picture at the left lokks like a blurred version of him and Rin. I'm probably wrong, but thumbs up if you noticed that.
mình chưa xem cái này bao giờ. Nhưng có vẻ hay đấy.

oh wow your right!
Kinda reminds me music from Legend of Zelda... It's really good, I like this song~!
I answer how ever I like. As Miku or as myself. I can't be a roleplayer 24hours
Hey look at 4:47 the pick that miku's head is touching it has rin and len and gakupo and Meiko :0
@Pandorahearts, don't worry, it's in the beginning too. This song remids me of the Holocaust, but I'm at a loss as to which country. Poland? France? England?!
wow Rin and Len are angels XD
@Alerya1516318 - i agree !!
This song was so beautiful, I admit, I cried. I would like to know if there is a download possible anywhere?
@MsCrownable i googled a download for it. i got it off aimini (i hoped that's spelled right)
@j3llyb3ar7 Kaito - Ciel, Miku - Lizzy :3
