I enjoy watching you figuring out the best way for you to fabricate the 66 front end. The 66 is going to be an awesome car when finished. Thank you for another excellent vid.
I must say you take on some hella tasks! Very cool to see how it's done (your way) How long have you been doing this, seems not much deters you from any project? And Daisy deserves the penthouse! Has Lilly moved in yet? lol
Over 30 years, after so long the stuff that fights is just normal day to day dealings! I got lily something for Christmas too thats coming up hopefully Wednesday
Great video, I am really enjoying the build and watching the process. Thanks for taking the time to teach and explain what and why you are doing things I appreciate that 😊
Thanks, Im hoping this will show some people that not everything has to be bought new or that doing these kind of jobs is scary if you just take the chance and be careful with your measurements
I'm watching, new to your channel and just subscribed. I am looking to do a Fox suspension onto a 65-66 Mustang chassis. One 66 Mustang I am considering using has nothing from the firewall forward. If that is the car used I think I will use the entire Fox front including frame rails. Then graft the tops of the 65-66 aprons to the Fox aprons. The 2nd possible car is a 65 Mustang with a good front, just like yours. I'm watching closely.
As a Primus song says "To defy the laws of tradition, is a crusade only of the brave." This looks like a complex undertaking so, I'm probably going with a Shelby drop.
I enjoyed the 65 Mustang series, but I must say, I'm enjoying this one on a whole new level. I had no idea how these kinds of modifications were done, I'm loving this, thank you.
I would have LOVED to have done a similar upgrade on my '70 Maverick BUT considering it was '76 a LOT of the tech and parts you're using simply failed to exist!
Excellent content as always Russ, thanks!. I want to make a suggestion that I believe STRONGLY will be financially beneficial for you, please consider. Before I begin, I am NOT a content creator or youtube expert. Having said that, I believe if you research optimal video length, you'll see results in the 10-15, up to 20 minutes maximum. Your videos I believe are generally in the 30's or 40's minutes. Duration may make it difficult for some to be able to watch your whole video, or have to spread it out over a few sittings. Shorter, more frequent videos I believe will lead to increased views and therefore subs....please investigate to see if it makes sense to you. Love the transformation on the 66 so far!
I will look into that for sure, appreciate the feedback! I try to just cover subject is in the video its sometimes hard to do in a shorter time This video is a good example theres a second video on thos suspension swap showing the angles and important highlights that is coming that when cut to minimum is 48 minutes long but I will see what I can do
@@HotRodGuyGarage Consider less time lapse perhaps? I think people would appreciate the explanation of the disassembly and cutting of the fox clip - that's a video I know I would have watched
Another interesting endeavor, more than I'd be willing to do. But your expertise in fitting this k member fit is impressive. It'll be fun to watch you complete this task. Good job, boss!
Good morning sir,you sure know how to use a Sawzall, you sure you didn't work for Hurst Enterprises working on Ford Thunderbolts,426 Hemi Darts or 400 hp 442s . Your knowledge of these cars and how to take them apart is second to none, all this work has one thinking what the vary first person to put a Mustang 2 front-end in his Hot Rod must have gone through, did you ever think that the 65 and now the 66 would have blowed up your channel the way it has, well great content THANK YOU,waiting on the next one God bless and peace out
I'd be interested seeing the weight difference before and after, the stuff coming out is pretty substantial. So I think you should show a weight improvement after the swap. I looked up your Maverick build at Car Craft online, What do you think of the drivability of the Fox front end as a daily driver?
Once we get passed the fabrication stages i will throw it on my scales several times throughout the build the 65 at the shop weighs 1711 with no engine or interior. The fox based suspension it great for a driver and if setup right handles well also
Russ we know when this Iscomplete you will be driving it so it will be put together in a structural manner and you will make it look like it belongs to this car. Since you need more parts. How is the 351 Windsor engine coming along
Ah yes, the importance of measuring and more measuring. I tried something like this on an old Comet about 15 years ago. It's still sitting behind my garage. .
What do you think of Martz Chassis replacement front end. It replaces everything from the firewall forward. Its a mustang 2 style. I realize you said that style is not ideal or preferred.
I enjoy watching your step by step cognitive thought process when making things fit , in all of your videos.
Appreciate that, I try to make it as easy as I can for everyone to understand
You, Mr Grimes, have much more patience than me, respect!
You just gotta roll with the punches sometime
looking good. Glad you got some sponsorship.
I wish it was a full ride but a lil help sure makes a difference

Appreciate the kind words, I'm excited to see how it turns out.
Daisy says yes.
Absolutely

The fox inner aprons are pretty close to the same width as the early cars and would be the easy route I believe
You are a brave man. I could never see myself getting into this type of modification but I am sure you will pull it off and make it nice.
It's really not that bad that you just have to be adamant about everything being correct and safe
As a Primus song says "To defy the laws of tradition, is a crusade only of the brave." This looks like a complex undertaking so, I'm probably going with a Shelby drop.
Its a bit of a job for sure , but the road less traveled teaches us things sometimes
Excellent Russ & daisy till next time cheers 🥂 😊
Appreciate it! Cheers

I appreciate it, I think its going to be a pretty neat build!
I would have LOVED to have done a similar upgrade on my '70 Maverick BUT considering it was '76 a LOT of the tech and parts you're using simply failed to exist!
Speaking of early stuff I have seen a mopar torsion bar setup swapped in a maverick at one time
Not if you have access to a Delorean with a flux capacitor 🤔

@ApesterA im adjusting some things coming, ive got something called hyperlapse now it gonna be coming in later videos
@@HotRodGuyGarage I look forward to it!
Thoroughly fascinating work you're doing with the front end! Can't wait to see how you get it all mounted!👍👍🙂
I just finished up the next front suspension video. You should see it in a couple weeks so stay tuned!
You scare me with that SawzAll, bro! But then, you know what you're doing! 😲
he uses it like most ppl use a fork and a knife,,,,,,LOL
I can cut a straighter line with a sawzall then most could with a laser layed line and a plasma cutter
If it cuts it ships lol

Good job, boss!
It's gonna be a lot of work, but we'll get there. Ive been cutting and welding on this car for a month straight so there is plenty coming up!
You are an artist in the car building world
Appreciate that greatly

This series is absolutely fascinating to watch.
Thanks
I use the upr stuff front and rear
Upr is good stuff
Lots of chopping. Don't forget the cat treats 😂
Gotta make sure the kitty doesn't get hungry during the rebuild!

I need to do another video soon on the Cleveland build ive been trying to get to some stopping points with the 65-66 projector
Ah yes, the importance of measuring and more measuring.

Absolutely the only way to make it work

The mustang II based stuff is great for a driver There so many better options for handling or drag racing
A cut above the rest. Great video...What ever happened to your Maverick?
I sold it to a guy from birmingham alabama as a roller and it simply disappeared
@@HotRodGuyGarage It was in some of your earlier videos, was curious.
Interesting
Thanks
Lot of work and a lot of measurements to do this.
Absolutely lots of angle to verify
Nice job
Thank you! Cheers!
when you have enuff wood screws and bondo, you can make anything look like it fits,,,,LOL
😆
I'm like number 299 today!
Awesome paul! You buried in snow yet?
@@HotRodGuyGarage It hasn't snowed much in the last two weeks but it's cold enough it doesn't go away
