Solutions are intended to resolve improper application. Need to add ways to repair then apply correctly.

Oh man... not fun. You talking retaining wall block efflorescence or on a floor?
Floor is tough because of the time/cost ratio of removal in comparison to grinding down and resurfacing or removal and repour, but generally muriatic acid and scrubbing, and scrubbing, and scrubbing, then neutralize, then wash, is the only way I've done it. Problem is that the salts that leech through, lose their h²0 more quickly than the salts can be washed away, leaving the salt crust behind. IF you can get it to disappear and put all that work in, make sure the water pushes through the face or surface and stays wet on good side longer than the opposite. When the water dissipates mainly through your show side, its inevitable. For future projects, one thing I've done is, for walls, seal the back side so that water can't push through, as well as the face. For floors or countertops, the water MUST mainly exit the side that isn't your show, but your show side must dry slowly and keep that water loss process slow with humidity, preventing the air from pulling h²0 from salts faster than dissipation of salts. Good luck
