I have a few ideas for a community series, I'll list them: - A massive underground bunker, and the way to get into the bunker would be to use that lift + seat glitch you use in survival to get those extra bits of underground stone. - A space station, at the top of the map. - Alternatively, a launch site for rockets. If you're feeling like it, you could combine this launch site idea with the space station, as a means of getting to the space station. - An underwater base, with that mod by Fant that lets you make air bubbles underwater. (If you don't know what I'm talking about, Moonbo made a video on it: th-cam.com/video/MDWI4LwEp1Y/w-d-xo.html) - Or, a massive battleship, one that would dwarf any normal warship. (You would probably need to weld this one down...) Possibly, if the main battleship runs out of space, you could make a fleet of ships! That's all! Have a good day :D

The viewers will be able to make forts and defences for themselves and whatever team they chose, or make bridges and build alliances with each other. Pretty much a simulated war. * A suburban neighbourhood with tons of plots of land, each creation can take up 1 plot of land each * whole bunch of train tracks next to each other, with one large train in the middle * A giant artificial dome city etc, etc, etc…

Definitely brought a tear to my eye to see that and it brought back a part of ScrapMan's history that I was gifted enough to watch in that moment. things were different back then and it's awesome to see how much Scrap Mechanic has improved since then. community server ideas may not be possible vvv -space base you have little gravity and are on a big asteroid in space (also dont know if its really possible to make a map just nothing but a few asteroids) -volcano world a world that's suspended above lava or above a giant volcano (idk if this would really be possible ) possible but may be hard to do vvv -flying base a base that uses thrusters to keep every segment of it up (prob quite laggy, and could just have sum be to heavy and it falls down, thrusters are loud) but it could be possible -tree base that's like on trees just hanging onto them with hooks on each tree (may be some collision issues with the tree branches so they may not be held up good) -personal fav though -mine base/underground base a base that is underground in a mine theme like an old abandoned mine that was built in ( it would prob be hard to add some stuff to it as it is underground) i could see all of these working vvv -underwater base there's a mod that can make air pockets under the water (idk what it is called btw) and id kinda like to see the underwater theme again -scrap base made out of like scrap stuff and yeah stuff u think you would find in a junkyard or sum -old western town like a town you would see a tumble weed or 100 fly past -jungle town a town in the jungle using natural resources and stuff

I like the idea of a fantasy world with magitech devices. Like, maybe a kobold tribe in a booby trapped cave would be neat. Build defenses to keep away meddlesome knights and adventurers. It's certainly a unique theme, at least.

Man this is so nostalgic! I remember joining the channel between the end of the Suspended Mountain Base and the start of the Future Military Base. I've always loved community projects so when you ended FMB I was a bit saddened. Though the Medieval Fantasy and Water World projects were really cool as well, and I even remember making creations to submit for them but then giving up because I suck at Scrap Mechanic even with a 200 hour playtime lol xdd Anyway, I'm really happy we're gonna do another community project. I have a couple ideas: A post-apocalyptic world, kind of like Mad Max or Fallout. Or a more "space" oriented one, where it'd be a Moon or Mars survival type of thing, just moon bases, mars bases, secret alien ruin, all that good stuff! Or maybe even a Space Station world, with the no gravity mod or something!

A good community world theme would be transforming creations. A horse and cart could become a train, the house could become a car etc etc. If it fails to work as intended, lets just call it art!
using some mods, (if they exist) you can try making some kinda of dimension portal, that can toggle between special ''rooms'' or ''levels''. you can base the door itself on the kane pixels kv31 backrooms threshold. but yeah, nice idea.
I have an idea for a community base Scrapman would build a large central metronome that could be heard all throughout the base. From there, other sections would be built and no matter what their function was, it had to make sounds that were in time with the metronome, making it seem like the metronome powered the base. In the end, you should be able to hear music whenever you're in the metronome room
Theme suggestion: Air Base The base could be held up in the air by thrusters or something or maybe just invisible blocks but it would look like it's flying
You know the void? Make a space station base in there. You can use the Fant mod anchor to be able to use the lift up there, and the modpack gravity modulators to get up and down. A gravity of around -10000 should work.
"There maybe was no logic behind it" Logic was all that was behind it. If my eyes don't deceive me, those are old times' mechanical logic gates. You probably planned in having two buttons for the hidden door or someting, and then you needed an XOR gate, and built it? That's my guess at least.

Indeed. Before we had logic gates in the game that was how you set up a door or whatever that you wanted to have several switches for. I remember building these everywhere, and i still find the a lot when looking through my old creations.

Something I haven't seen suggested would be a magical world community build. Since Scrap Mechanic is more made for tech type stuff it would be a fun challenge to see what people could make in a magical/fantasy setting.
I have a few ideas for a new series, 1.-A futuristic neo tokyo-style megacity-industrial style with neon and digital aspects, alternatively a vaporwave style 2.-A Flying base somewhat like the game Airborne Kingdom 3.-A spacestation like the Gallente Center for Advanced Studies from EVE (Look it up if you don't know) possibly using an antigravity mod 4.-A full on video game in scrap mechanic, with enemies made of cardboard and glass so you have to shoot them 5.-A megafactory that looks like it "Produces" every item in the game
For a new community series, I would find it interesting to do a scrap yard/scrap city theme, with interesting gadgets and dodads that look like they were made out of random things that you can find. Houses made of scrap metal and wood with vending machines, crates, and whatnot built into the walls, creations made of items you can find that you wouldn't expect to be there, like satellite and barrel wheels or doors made out of signs, things just put where they could fit/stack, not worrying about looking perfect, that sort of thing. It could be like Mad Max, Crossout, a junkyard, and some sort of chill core mixed together.
I still remember the suspended bridge mountain base and watching you build the lifts the park the squeeze elevator the fountain and seeing you struggling with bridges, all the memories are coming back, thank you scrapman for this amazing video 🙃
So many comments. I'm glad I got to see your content from before I was a subscriber. For my two cents, I'd love to see a community test range that uses previous challenges as a basis for what kinds of interactables to mess with. A racetrack, an obstacle course, some kind of big ramp tile or build, just a whole mess of things to really test out concepts. I'd like to see a MM that had footage of community members competing with you and the guys.
For a community series you could do no ground vehicles or anything attached to the ground aside from landing flying machines, an air ship/base would be the only thing attached to the ground. Flying airships, jumping off the base, massive port for vehicles, runway for planes etc. Another idea is build it out the side of a mountain/hill and make it seem as though it is being taken back by nature and have lots of supports, a massive stairway, create a build to look as though you are skydiving? Or a massive colony of "settlers" who are setting up a camp and expanding their society and slowly urbanizing the planet.
The different SM community series has been some of the most memorable things in this channel: - Suspended Mountain Base - Futuristic Military Base - Flooded World - Medieval Fantasy World and now we can expect a new community series after a long time. It’s also exciting seeing the different suggestions here.
An electromechanical battle bot arena? Awesome! I do love logic & timers, but it's fascinating to see how programming progressed in a very similar way to electronics in the real world.
It might be impossible, but an O'Neill cylinder would be a neat theme for a community project. Imagine an enourmous rotatable tube with creations on the inside. So if you look up, you can see the other side, just as if you were in a rotating drum space habitat. If possible it could turn itself slowly depending on your location, so you could walk inside like a giant hamster wheel world.
New community series!!! This is awesome!! I've got a few ideas! -Mad Max style World? -Far Far Away, Long Time Ago World? (......yea star wars) -Space Alien Zoo World (where we would have habitats for crazy cool fun, and maybe dangerous, fantasy alien creatures) I loved the old series: Steampunk Suspended Bridge Base, Future Military Base, the Flooded World, and the Fantasy Four Kingdoms World. Looking forward to a new community series to add to the collection!
Community map suggestion: Evil genius Lair, Near an active volcano! That would bring a lot of possibilities for fan creations, like dungeon stuff, big laser cannons, torture devices etc x)
Make a space station at the top of the map it would be so much fun and if you do it to where you use thruster you can have attachments that also have thrusters so it doesn't fall.
The suspended mountain base is one of the coolest builds I've ever seen in scrap mechanic. It's also heavily inspired some of my own Minecraft builds taking advantage of the 1.18 worldgen and mountains!
Maybe a big floating city in the sky? Some backstory possibilities like the world is irradiated and you need to send scouts down to the surface, everything hovers.
Idea for the popular flying suggestions: use a non-solid rock like the ones from the hide and seek MM to hide a piston and a timer so you can give it the natural altitude fluctuations inherent in fixed altitude hovering via thrusters while still welding it to invisible blocks

Seeing the mountain base again is really nostalgic because it’s when I first started watching Scrapman. Hopefully the friction issues do get solved at some point. But, I’m a bit curious on how well the military base handles, because that series ended with it being really laggy too.

A theme for a community series could be a run down, jurassic park theme sorta thing, With a run down park, still consisting of dinosaurs or different scary animals, this could be turned into a walk through kinda build, where different events happen as you continue exploring the park. Idk, just a suggestion you might like.
Community Series Idea: some kind of early American settlement I bet the seat was crashing the game because it is the pre survival seat with out the levels. I am not 100% sure if this is it or not but could be why I think

I have a couple ideas you could do: -Suspended Bridge Base Remastered (I know kinda lame but it would be nice to see a modern day remake of that classic) -A base that takes up the whole map (it's gonna be a lot of work but it'll be cool) -A randomized base (basically, fans build anything, you pick out like 20 creations from a set of 100 using a random number generator, and you build it all into one) These are my ideas, they're not the best, but i think they might make some pretty cool videos. The Wall Ride Warrior course was really cool and a lot more complex than some of the more recent wall ride courses you guys have done. It might be interesting to revisit something similar in multiplayer monday.

You know the void? Make a space station base in there. You can use the Fant mod anchor to be able to use the lift up there, and the modpack gravity modulators to get up and down. A gravity of around -10000 should work.
A reimagining of the wall climb would make for a good multplayer monday. Been a while since we've seen such a variety of technical challenges.

Logic was all that was behind it. If my eyes don't deceive me, those are old times' mechanical logic gates. You probably planned in having two buttons for the hidden door or someting, and then you needed an XOR gate, and built it? That's my guess at least.

Indeed. Before we had logic gates in the game that was how you set up a door or whatever that you wanted to have several switches for. I remember building these everywhere, and i still find the a lot when looking through my old creations.

Something I haven't seen suggested would be a magical world community build. Since Scrap Mechanic is more made for tech type stuff it would be a fun challenge to see what people could make in a magical/fantasy setting.

Community series idea: Cave base, involving catarinth and metal music so dark colours with exposed pipes to give it an unfinished look

I have a few ideas for a new series,
1.-A futuristic neo tokyo-style megacity-industrial style with neon and digital aspects, alternatively a vaporwave style
2.-A Flying base somewhat like the game Airborne Kingdom
3.-A spacestation like the Gallente Center for Advanced Studies from EVE (Look it up if you don't know) possibly using an antigravity mod
4.-A full on video game in scrap mechanic, with enemies made of cardboard and glass so you have to shoot them
5.-A megafactory that looks like it "Produces" every item in the game
For a new community series, I would find it interesting to do a scrap yard/scrap city theme, with interesting gadgets and dodads that look like they were made out of random things that you can find. Houses made of scrap metal and wood with vending machines, crates, and whatnot built into the walls, creations made of items you can find that you wouldn't expect to be there, like satellite and barrel wheels or doors made out of signs, things just put where they could fit/stack, not worrying about looking perfect, that sort of thing. It could be like Mad Max, Crossout, a junkyard, and some sort of chill core mixed together.
I still remember the suspended bridge mountain base and watching you build the lifts the park the squeeze elevator the fountain and seeing you struggling with bridges, all the memories are coming back, thank you scrapman for this amazing video 🙃

So many comments. I'm glad I got to see your content from before I was a subscriber. For my two cents, I'd love to see a community test range that uses previous challenges as a basis for what kinds of interactables to mess with. A racetrack, an obstacle course, some kind of big ramp tile or build, just a whole mess of things to really test out concepts. I'd like to see a MM that had footage of community members competing with you and the guys.
For a community series you could do no ground vehicles or anything attached to the ground aside from landing flying machines, an air ship/base would be the only thing attached to the ground. Flying airships, jumping off the base, massive port for vehicles, runway for planes etc.
Another idea is build it out the side of a mountain/hill and make it seem as though it is being taken back by nature and have lots of supports, a massive stairway, create a build to look as though you are skydiving?
Or a massive colony of "settlers" who are setting up a camp and expanding their society and slowly urbanizing the planet.
For the community series, Solar punk or jungle Themed with tree houses a suspension bridge or two,
or just combine them.
A solar punk tree town with spawned in massive trees (the biggest type) with many suspension bridges?
The different SM community series has been some of the most memorable things in this channel:
- Suspended Mountain Base
- Futuristic Military Base

Natural overgrown cave theme I think would be really cool. Maybe some glowing crystals and just lots of fantasy yet overgrown builds
It might be impossible, but an O'Neill cylinder would be a neat theme for a community project. Imagine an enourmous rotatable tube with creations on the inside. So if you look up, you can see the other side, just as if you were in a rotating drum space habitat. If possible it could turn itself slowly depending on your location, so you could walk inside like a giant hamster wheel world.
I'm feeling an Amusement Park theme!! It would allow for many different Ride ideas from the community...even the buildings and vendors too. :D

Make a space station at the top of the map it would be so much fun and if you do it to where you use thruster you can have attachments that also have thrusters so it doesn't fall.

The suspended mountain base is one of the coolest builds I've ever seen in scrap mechanic. It's also heavily inspired some of my own Minecraft builds taking advantage of the 1.18 worldgen and mountains!
Man, I remember watching the suspended mountain base videos as they came out, amazing you got that world back!
Maybe a big floating city in the sky? Some backstory possibilities like the world is irradiated and you need to send scouts down to the surface, everything hovers.

Idea for the popular flying suggestions: use a non-solid rock like the ones from the hide and seek MM to hide a piston and a timer so you can give it the natural altitude fluctuations inherent in fixed altitude hovering via thrusters while still welding it to invisible blocks

Seeing the mountain base again is really nostalgic because it’s when I first started watching Scrapman. Hopefully the friction issues do get solved at some point. But, I’m a bit curious on how well the military base handles, because that series ended with it being really laggy too.
I think a colony on an extraterrestrial planet would be an awesome theme!!! With airlock and glass domes, and maybe even some alien ruins!!!
Idea for community series - You as a time traveller stuck in a Medieval era trying to get back to the future. This way people can create medieval and futuristic builds

A few ideas I had were something like a medieval/magic castle or something like a zombie apocalypse survival base.
magical flying island, clean white theme, with clusters of buildings looking like the rock deposits from survival (quadrilateral prisms)
Industrial factory theme for the community build could be really cool, cranes and contraptions all over the place

A theme for a community series could be a run down, jurassic park theme sorta thing, With a run down park, still consisting of dinosaurs or different scary animals, this could be turned into a walk through kinda build, where different events happen as you continue exploring the park.

Dang, such a blast from the past! I have a couple ideas you could do:
-Suspended Bridge Base Remastered (I know kinda lame but it would be nice to see a modern day remake of that classic)
-A base that takes up the whole map (it's gonna be a lot of work but it'll be cool)
-A randomized base (basically, fans build anything, you pick out like 20 creations from a set of 100 using a random number generator, and you build it all into one)
These are my ideas, they're not the best, but i think they might make some pretty cool videos.
