used wolfgang because this fight sucks without speed or damage multipliers, the dash attack after they enrage is almost impossible to kite without sacrificing damage by taking a step back with default speed, they spam a lot of minions, and like the eye of terror fight they despawn when the night ends and since they have so much HP you're basically forced to fight them on separate occasions to summon them just add a piece of nightmare fuel to the terrarium, once you kill both you get a shield which is basically a hand slot football helmet + tentacle spike that can be refueled with food from what I was able to see retinazor (the red one) prefers spawning minions while spazmatism (the blue one) dashes a lot more often

i mean, dont starve characters dont even have the mobility that the champion has access to, like dashes, the RoD, multijump, and literal flight. so i say they are balanced for this game.

I think this could've been done much better with lasers, fireball attacks and whatnot, this is a bit underwhelming to say the least. It looks like fighting 2 giant rooks with ALOT more downtime between attacks. (with beefed up healthbars and ads.) Like there already exists attacks in Hamlet and dst that involve laser beams in the form of winter deerclops and mechanical arms that are very dodgable and look cool as shit, why not integrate them?
I like it, but it feels a little off how brain-dead passive Retinazer seemed to be when you weren't attacking him. I'd like it if they were nerfed, but they made sure to stick together.

@Miguel Bruxinho firstly, this theme is a remix of the boss 1 theme, for the eye of cthulhu fight. secondly, terraria's boss tracks are likely ordered by when they were made. boss 1 originally played only on king slime, eye of cthulhu, eater of worlds, and skeletron. then 1.1 came out and then boss 2 was made for wall of flesh, re-used for the twins fight, boss 3 was made for destroyer and then in 1.2 they made a new theme for queen bee and golem. the wiki says the theme for queen bee is called boss 5 and for golem boss 4, but it sometimes gets switched around, but what matters is that they came in the same update. none of that twins got two eyes so boss 2 bullshit.
A lot of folks are complaining about the Twins getting quite a bit defanged (what with the loss of cursed fire/lasers), but I think it's fair. The last thing we need is another boss with Crab King levels of bullshit. Would still be neat if they stuck near each other and maybe one of them enraged when the other died, though.
I mean if you look at the video they both change when one of them changes. By then you know the movements and what to do easy. In DST they have two bosses three if you count how the video did the twins. Them being apart so easy doesn't really make them the twins. I don't mind DST doing that but they should move around or something the way the they battle makes the twins look like pre-hard mode boss. EoC is a pre-hard mode boss. I just find it weird that they made the twins metal EoC. They could've did one with lasers that go on recharge giving the player in DST time to do damage.
Coming from terraria, this looks kinda lame. I understand EoC staying still a lot, since its supposed to be a week and early boss, but the twins just standing still like that don't really match them. they're supposed to be aggressive. I really wish they either patch it so retinazer and spazmatism are connected by a tendril and will always attack at the same time, or make it so when only 1 is attacking, it will be a lot more aggressive. The only thing that made retinazer into retinazer was the name, the behavior is COMPLETELY different. Not even a second phase :/ I am honestly dissapointed in this. The twins do not resemble the twins in terraria in the slightest. I'm assuming the devs were competent when designing them and AT LEAST made their attacks organized when both attack you. duo/trio fights are realy fun when the attacks don't become a mess. A great example is the sisters of battle fight from hollow knight.
The problem is that there is a "stunlock" mechanic in DST. After getting hit by an enemy, player can't do anything. In addition to that player character is unable to attack and move at the same time. Constant charge attacking would make even one of them impossible to beat. Still fight is dissapointing. There are already 2 bosses in game that use laser attacks, so giving one to ratinazer would be a copy-paste job. On the other hand spazmatism fire* breathing would be a bit much but his dashes could instead leave a trails of fire. *Fire damage in DST ignores armor and being near fire can cause overheating which also deals armor ignoring damage. Fire damage is so strong in this game that it is the only reason why people use pan flute on Dragonfly boss.

I'm going to say that, as a DST and Terraria player, I do agree that the Twins probably should have been less "simplified" so to speak. While I do agree that the nature of DST itself does force combat to feel a little slower, there are still ways you can employ the Twin's signature abilities without making the fight impossible. Maybe with Retinazer, the first phase features sparse lasers that are telegraphed by some sort of line indicating where the laser was going to fire (Maybe like a lock-on animation?), while Spazmatism acts similarly to EoC. And maybe second phase featured Spazmatism using its cursed fire to produce walls of flame that limit movement (kinda like the Antlion fight. but with more space), while the rate of Retinazer's laser fire increases slightly (charge up and cooldown times are reduced). Movement and space to move is very important in DST and I personally feel that adding something similar to what I have mentioned would have reflected better on the overall nature of the Twins (that frantic, fast-paced feeling) while still keeping to that DST style.
I think the cursed flame would have been better off a lingering flame that served as a wall, and the laser is a charge shot that takes at least 2 seconds to charge, the laser would be really strong but easy to dodge.
I think they should fire their own stuff, the laser and the cursed flame, instead of shooting the mini eyes. There is always a way to make it dodgable. Like they could make them charge up to shoot or something. So they giving time for the player to dodge the laser and flame. If not in first phase at least 2nd phase they should shoot. It doesn't have to be fast flames and lasers. But they are really just reskinned eye of chutulus right now with more hp.
It lacks lasers and cursed flames but thats fine what i'm sad is that the twins was meant to be fought at the same time in terraria but is still a cool looking new boss for DST xD

ah yes the twins, spasmatism, and spasmatism. I know that don't starve has a lot less movement options so adding attacks like that would probably make the fight hell, but i feel like they could have made them a little different from each other. And gave them their attacks rather than just spitting out eye minions (for those who haven't played or seen terraria which i doubt is many of you they don't do that during the fight. During the first phase spas will dash at you, and retinazer will shoot at you slowly while periodically making small dashes like spas. They each enter their second phase separately. spas now has a huge curse flame fire that shoots out straight from his mouth, and he dashes much faster, while ret shoots much faster. During his dashes i believe he starts to shoot extremely fast, but it has been a while since i fought them. Also you may have noticed that they don't spawn minions in their fight! That's only an eye of Cthulhu thing.)
The moment i saw the title i thought of Terraria, and i didn't even know there was a crossover update. But it's odd that i even got recommended this, because i played neither of those games and mostly watched videos of them few years back.

besides being pretty much just two eyes of terror i'm glad that they added at least something unique for them based on the original game, being that spazmatism dashes shorter distances and more often while retinazer dashes longer distances and less often
I think this is a super cool collab despite the twins not really being able to shine in their full glory, it's totally reasonable though because the fight would be impossible if they had all their moves. I love Don't Starve but I wish there was more to the combat now that I've seen this lol. I think the best part of the collab is the Don't Starve arrangement of The Twins theme, it sounds awesome!

ah yes the twins, spasmatism, and spasmatism.
I know that don't starve has a lot less movement options so adding attacks like that would probably make the fight hell, but i feel like they could have made them a little different from each other. And gave them their attacks rather than just spitting out eye minions (for those who haven't played or seen terraria which i doubt is many of you they don't do that during the fight. During the first phase spas will dash at you, and retinazer will shoot at you slowly while periodically making small dashes like spas. They each enter their second phase separately. spas now has a huge curse flame fire that shoots out straight from his mouth, and he dashes much faster, while ret shoots much faster. During his dashes i believe he starts to shoot extremely fast, but it has been a while since i fought them. Also you may have noticed that they don't spawn minions in their fight! That's only an eye of Cthulhu thing.)

i really love how the theme is a remix of the twins/mechanical boss theme
The moment i saw the title i thought of Terraria, and i didn't even know there was a crossover update.
But it's odd that i even got recommended this, because i played neither of those games and mostly watched videos of them few years back.

Im a bit disappointed there was no cursed flames or laser beams going around. It feels like an extra cherry on top was denied.

Imagine if the Spazmatism had Cursed Flames and Retinizer had Laser Beams and the Twins are connected to each other like Terraria
Ngl, I kind of love this boss fight, because it is hard, but never unfair (I think) as a wigfrid main can happily say, they should be dead before winter (not really)
terraria: we tried our best to capture the real feeling of DTS in terraria, we crafted a brand new seed inspired by DST, many drops, a boss that acts similar to one from DST, and kept true to the terraria vibe.

The Boss music is the Same as it is in Terraria but a little changed to fit the style of Don’t Starve. Very cool

Klei Entertainment is always ahead of the game.
If nothing else, this battle higlights the differences between Terraria and Don't Starve and how Don't Starve can't have fast-paced or chaotic boss fights like Terraria can.
tbf I have a bunch of challenge fights on this channel that show that bossfights in dst can get really intense, this boss is just poorly designed

besides being pretty much just two eyes of terror i'm glad that they added at least something unique for them based on the original game, being that spazmatism dashes shorter distances and more often while retinazer dashes longer distances and less often
I think this is a super cool collab despite the twins not really being able to shine in their full glory, it's totally reasonable though because the fight would be impossible if they had all their moves. I love Don't Starve but I wish there was more to the combat now that I've seen this lol. I think the best part of the collab is the Don't Starve arrangement of The Twins theme, it sounds awesome!
I mean they could at least give ret his laser attacks as they already have lase attacks in DST
@@josecriollo6976 as much as I would like that Don't Starve just isn't made for that type of scenario. The combat & mobility sucks ass

This is basically 2 Eoc (i don't know what it was called in DST). They could have made them attached to eachother but share the same heart and make it a 10000 hp boss.
But still cool nonetheless.
i NEED to play this game.
