I have been following you for years. I live in America and appreciate your approach to sophistication. Where I live most individuals dress much too casual and I appreciate being a woman who is classy. Congrats on your weight loss. I cannot wait to order your Gemma bag too.
So glad you like Noom. I lost 57 pounds over 18 months with them and think very well of them. Thanks for your good, straight-forward fashion advice. I really appreciate you.
Thanks Gemma for sharing your lovely, affordable, realistic to wear everyday and practical outfits. Well done on the weight loss, you look sooooo well👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🥰
You look amazing! Don’t get too skinny, we don’t want you to evaporate, lol. I love your focus on optimizing health, rather than getting to a certain size. As usual, I love everything you show and how to style it. Classic and elegant forever!
I agree with you, Kimberly! Gemma is a very soft, feminine woman! She wears it well!! Recently, I lost 25 lbs for health reasons! When I am asked why I want to be lean, oftentimes, no matter the answer I give, people choose to believe what they deem as important! I no longer feel it necessary to explain, however, I just blame it on my Doctor! Works every time! I am 5 feet 1 inch in height! Almost all my nice clothing needs to be altered for height reasons alone. Every 10 lbs is a clothing size. Recently, I have saved so much money by not allowing myself to fluctuate. Working for Jenny Craig was by far one of the greatest opportunities, to date. The pain women feel regarding their less that perfect bodies can be brutal! Although, I was a certified counselor, it still took me one full year before I began to connect my mind, body and emotional well-being. I applaud women all over the World who see the value in Loving themselves!!!
Great video. Loved all your looks. My wardrobe is similar, I keep it simple, black, white, khaki and brown. My only pops of color are orange/rust and olive.
Those matching jumper and cardigans are gorgeous. I love the grey pants short sleeved sweater and long cardigan over. That zara navy blazer is sooo classy. Good price too. Really good suggestions. . Weather is definitely cooler. Thanks Gemma x
Hello Gemma, I am watching your videos from the Netherlands. Love your videos. Thank you for posting them. Started Noom in August 2021 and in 8 months I lost 10 kilos. That may not seem like a lot, but I have been having a lot of stress because of my parents' health, their housing and then in February we found out that due to all that stress I forgot about my own health and I ended up in hospital. I have hydrocephalus and my drain was not functioning the correct way. As a result I did not Noom for about 2 months. On top of that I was not able to walk as much as I did before and I have gained 3 kilos since early March. I am now in my second 8-month subscription and I logg both my weight and my meals every day again. For those who have been told in the past that it is not a good idea to weigh yourself every morning; I found it very surprising to see that from one morning to the next my weight can go up 3 kilos (that was the most extreme weight change within 24 hours that I have recorded). Two days later I was back to the weight that I had before. Due to Noom I no longer freak out when the scale 'flips' like that. I now know that this is due to a number of factors, among which hormones (this especially goes for women). This all adds up as I have been using different kinds of prescribed medications for hormone dificiencies for the past 14 years. Thanks to Noom I now know my downfalls and what to do with/about them. I will keep on Nooming for the remainder of my subscription and I am confident that I will lose more weight. I also read the lessons in the morning. This is the easiest way to keep an eye on my intake habits for that day.
Good on you for your weight loss project. I got a nice black trench from M&S this spring. It is lovely. Really well made and I live in a cooler climate. I also got a camel coloured blazer but the buttons are a bit shiny so I might swap them out at some point. I love my black jeans but I wish they would not fade. I also wish I could get better T-shirts that the collars don’t sag after a few launders. I like dresses and even wear them around the house with tights or leggings in the winter. Key pieces…trench coat, camel blazer, black blazer, fuzzy animal print jacket for fun. Cashmere sweaters, crew and neck, dark wash Levi’s, black jeans and dark plaid slim trousers. Long sleeve bamboo tees in several colours, turtle neck tees, wool, scarves, plaid cashmere and vintage Burberry (from my mom). Booties in many colours. Tilley fawn fedora and charcoal wool hat with brim. Your videos are always great and there are clothes that we can afford. I am a little on the heavy side, but have stopped worrying about my weight and have lost about 10 lbs over the last year. Menopause hit me hard! However, I don’t have wrinkles!
Very nice & elegant choices. My key pieces this fall will be matching knit sweater & skirt set, corset tops (that I'll wear over a sweater or button down), and cable Sweaters:)
I had a similar sweater to the cream H&M V-neck that was great for a semi-casual night out and when the weather got chillier, I'd layer it over a crewneck thermal tee or a lightweight poloneck with jeans or dark slacks.
Long-sleeved cotton t-shirts are a staple in my wardrobe, too. They are just the perfect weight and warmth for indoor wear in autumn and spring, even in winter if I turn the heat on a little (I don’t routinely). I also love them under blazers, as you do, and I think they’re more elegant than standard short-sleeved ones. I find myself wearing my short-sleeved t-shirts less and less, I prefer sleeveless in the summer and long sleeves the rest of the year. I think we end up with too many standard t-shirts because they are so cheap and easy to buy, but my short-sleeved ones just don’t get the wear they should, one of each of my basic colors (black, navy, beige, khaki green) and two white ones, a V-neck and a square neck, are really all I need. I only kept the two or three graphic tees that are the most simple and classic and “me”, no band tees, novelty ones or cutesy sayings.
I am a huge fan of long sleeve t shirts, as well. I am allergic to synthetics, so it allows me to wear a layer on top that might irritate my skin. This limits my ability to shop at reasonably priced places, as everything I have is cotton, wool, cashmere or linen. The linings of jackets are usually made od synthetics, so the long sleeve cotton T is my best friend. My kilt skirt uniform skirt in school used to give me rashes and I always had to wear a cotton half-slip underneath (which was hard to find in the '80's.) We joked that if we tried to burn them in a bonfire upon graduation, they would just melt into a petroleum mess. I sleep every night in mens cotton long sleeve t shirts. Not very sexy for my husband, but arm and comforting to me.
Hi Gemma, loved the black dress you showed with the cognac boots. I have an a line boot skirt in black wool that I just realized I could style to look like that dress. Thanks for the inspiration and the closing goodbye 😊.
Gemma, another brilliant video. I too get a little tired of denims and have recently bought three dresses from Joe Browns. One patterned boldly in bright pink, one multi autumn coloured and one navy paisley patterned. They are all fitted at the top but have a loose skirt. These will look fabulous with a junky cardigan and boots. The inspiration came from you. Thank you x
Thank you for a wonderfully curated fall capsule. You’re right about the effects eating habits (like mindless snacking while watching entertainment/sports) on our health. 🍪
You're looking great - I've also tried Noon and it definitely works. I have always weighed myself daily - it helps to keep me on track, or to be able to see how much I've gained! Love the brown on you - it's one of my favorite colors, and one that I haven't worn yet since letting my silver hair take over! It's hard to find a cool-toned brown at this time of year, but I'll keep on looking. Love the black trench. Wonderful video - as usual - this time of year is absolutely the best for fashion!
I appreciate what you shared about wearing the same colour cardigan and sweater underneath. Like you, I really lean towards matching my blazer and my top, or matching my top and my bottom pieces to create a column of color underneath a blazer. I love your style and all your helpful tips. Thank you so much!
Love all the great classy ideas! I will be watching this video a few times to see what I have to put together. I have lost 30 pounds in the last four months - I am using the diabetic weight watchers program and it is working perfectly for me. I am not diabetic, but this program works. I love the crew neck sweaters - so simple and elegant. I seem to be investing in the long sleeve tees from Chicos - I just received my order yesterday and the colors are beautiful and the quality seems to be good (will wait to see how they wash up). I am going to wear my brown one today - it is a deep chocolate brown. I am simplifying my wardrobe as I lose weight. The weather is starting to cool a bit in the morning but still warm in the PM here in Pennsylvania.
If you live in a large city, just call a fancy store and ask if they will pick out and bring the items to your house. I knew someone who did that, but she probably spent about $4,000 at a time.
Thank you for this. As I’m getting older, I’m looking for more classic pieces that will stand the test of time. I’m gradually building my wardrobe. I do really like having navy pieces in my wardrobe. I feel like they transition well from summer to fall to winter. I like using them as layering pieces and I agree they are softer than black. Now that I’m getting older, I’m finding I lean more towards navy than black.
The long sleeve tshirts are practical on their own, and to layer when it gets colder. I had a couple already, but bought 3 in different colours for the fall. Probably won't buy anything else for fall, as I'm working on limiting spending and reusing existing pieces. Love your classic look.
Thank you for being yourself. It is a challenge to stay on one digit size. I am always fighting to reduce 2 inches in my body, just to feel comfortable. I would not buy large size outfits, because I do not look good wearing it and would not be happy. Only way that works for me is to keep controlling my measurements and adjusting my diet every six months. So I can wear my clothes with confidence.
I’ve got blazers in black, navy, beige, red and white. I also purchased longer cardigans in beige, grey black and red, I like the no peep range of M&S white cotton shirts. I have numerous pairs of jeans, but have purchased several pairs of wool mix trousers for winter in black, beige, navy. I’m still looking for a dress, but I have found several nice skirts, knee length pencil, and calf length full pleated skirts which look gorgeous over boots.
I recently bought the Marks & Spenser black trench. I’m in Australia and it’s summer, but I’m looking forward to wearing it in a few months. I really like the quality of this trench and the price was good 😊
Great autumn pieces, Gemma. I also love cardigans and have been wearing them for years. What would you recommend as an alternative color for fall/winter ankle boots? I just purchased a pair of burgundy, but I keep wondering if a camel color choice would be more functional. Congratulations on your journey to better health.
I loved all the pieces, and have very similar types in my closet. For my capsule wardrobe, I will remove the polo style blazer and add a black midi knitted skirt so I can wear with layered sweaters and boots. I found one at a great price at Nordstrom rack.
I bought the Lilysilk black trenchcoat and yes it so thin. Cute for style but not protection for cold or rainy days. Keep you red blazer : you are fabulous in it.
Autumn used to be my favorite season and love the clothes, but I live in Florida currently and there is no Autumn. I’m lucky if I get to wear those things in winter. Autumn = Peak Hurricane season here. So it was a great video but made me sad 😔
Wonderful pieces, all of them. I live in Florida so it’s a lighter wardrobe for me. However, I do own a black trench, which looks so classy. Also, I’ve got cream colored pleated trousers which are indispensable.
Congratulations on your weight loss journey. You are one of my favorite resources for fashion... What is the best way for those of us in the US to shop your links? Must we order internationally?
HI Gemma you really are looking lovely. Congrats on your weight loss - I have been struggling for so very long so may go with your recommendation. Thank you for your video which is full or your usual great taste and style.
I like all the outfits, and I have most of these items in my closet. (Not a camel blazer, as browns don’t suit me.). However, I will stick with my beige trench coat, as it is much more visible to drivers on dreary rainy days and evenings. Safety first!
Evening Gemma, loving your brown blouse. You're looking very slim and healthy. Walking Willy definitely helps me, but I need to watch the seedy bread ( love owt seedy) 😄😄😄 I've put weight on,losing it very slowly. Enjoyed the vid, lovely to watch you whilst husb watches footie xx 😘
Congratulations on your weight loss. I didnt think you had any weight to lose. My favourite Autumn pieces are cardigans and warm scarves. And I can't wait to start wearing boots.
I wear scrubs for my working hours because I am a technician in a hospital. But heading to and from work, requires that I wear street clothing not medi-dress. I'm mainly casual so I picked up a pair of gray corduroy jeans, a burgundy cardigan and a quilted multicolored vest. I would like 1 or 2 scarves in either silk or cashmere but I haven't found anything that is luring me to spend money.
Just recently found your channel and like your down to earth style suggestions. I tried to get on NOOM, but as I live in a rural area with NO CELL SVC., I cannot use their platform. I have a laptop and internet (thank goodness) but no cell phone : ( Pity, really- they should work out something for the other 10% of people in my situation.
I leave in Florida it’s seems it’s summer year long it’s hard to we’re all heavy clouthing but I love your channel could you do something for us in the warm states thank you 🙏
The brown blouse is very much in harmony with your coloring. Lovely.

Your brown blouse is stunning!!!! Another great piece in a great colour for the Autumn wardrobe!!!!
I thought so too! I purchased it in the brown & cream color since they were on sale.
