On average, every 4 gardems will have a toad and at least 4-5 frogs, regardless of any water feature. They are good, they kill the Water Boatmen, who eat Goldfish and Orf alive.
I'm watching from Melbourne Australia Spring starts September 1st here and I'm about to buy fertilizer to put on my stone fruit and citrus trees We're still having cool n cold days n some rain In the UK are you about to go into autumn?
@user-og4lj2sl4i Oh wow, I love Melbourne. It's been a long while since I've been through. Nottingham. Yeah we're not far off autumn, though it's getting harder and harder to tell. I'll be picking leafs up just as yours are starting to really grow 🤣 Good luck with the fruit, I've just harvested loads of tomatoes for my dinner 😃
Do you mean when I cleaned it up and put the grass seed down? If so, it's because she changed her mind about wanting grass after I did it 🤣 she wanted the gravel section extending down further. Although I think it turned out OK 👍 😊
Haha, yes indeed. They are pretty cool bits of kit. Links should be in the description. But they are made by Wolf Garten, who are a German tool manufacturer. Awesome kit 👍 I hope that helps my American friend 😊
@@martinthegardenguy PS: It would appear from this and other UK videos that English ivy is just as invasive in the UK as it is here in the US. It's just awful here: clambers up trees and smothers them. Takes over entire beds, as does its evil cousin, euonymus fortunei. Both are nightmares and have taken over whole woods and public lands, not to mention private properties. I have a (very) small gardening business and I am really appreciating your videos.
No worries, mate 👍 hope the business does well. Weather is the only issue I've ever had 😂 but working outdoors all day is the best. P.s yes, ivy can be a pain 😂 although there are lots of types. It's still on my love plant list, though. Despite its reputation 😁
Haha, yeah, I did. Well spotted 😂 She wanted grass seed going down, and then changed her mind after I already did it. Then told me she wanted gravel going down instead.
Yeah 😆 🤣 there turned out to be enough gravel left so she went for more area instead of thicker gravel layer. Shame, it would have been a nice little lawn 😃 but it'll be less work long term for her. I sent ages taking the stones out of the new lawn area as well 😆
@debbieross5257 Thank you so much for the kind comment. She shouldn't struggle, I'll cut it for the rest of the growing season and then she'll be fit enough to sort herself 👍
Hello Martin its great to see that this video blew up for you. I have a question if you dont mind. Do you ever use access equipment i.e. small scaffolding towers to do big hedges? A customer has asked for some large hedge trimming and there is a conifer hedge that must be 30ft high? Cheers.
Hi, I've never used anything like scaffold before. If I couldn't reach the hedge top with a 5m arborist ladder I simply wouldn't do the job. That's going into tree surgeon territory and I'm just a humble gardener. Plus I'm getting too old to be running up and down ladders with a long reach hedge cutter in my hands 😆 🤣 Nowadays it's a long reach with an extension attachment. If that won't reach I don't do it.
You always seem to forget things you need for a job which would make the job easier for you , maybe you could make a list and plan ahead it will save you time and effort in the long run

Much appreciated.
Martin

Hate people that don’t pick dog poop un responsable
Me too, it's one of the things that really bug me. Although, in this case, I think it was an oversight. She had been very unwell and the fact there was only one means she had actually made efforts to clear the place up. Which is fine.
I feel the rage when the garden I'm doing is literally covered in poo though. I pack up my kit and leave.
Thanks for the comment
Much appreciated
Martin

New to your channel. You do really good work. Wish you could come to Texas and do my garden. Excellent work! Btw, where in UK are you? Blessings to you and your family!
Oh, thank you so much ☺️ I'm in Nottingham. I'd love to visit Texas, not sure I'd handle the heat very well though 😅 I've only been to the US once.
Thanks for the lovely comment, the same blessings back at you and yours ❤️
New subscriber here ❤
Hello 👋 thanks for subscribing. Much appreciated. I hope you enjoy the content 😃
On average, every 4 gardems will have a toad and at least 4-5 frogs, regardless of any water feature. They are good, they kill the Water Boatmen, who eat Goldfish and Orf alive.
Will you be laying the edging stones on a video?
Hi, she decided against it in the end. The cost of the stones was too expensive for her. As far as I know, it's still as I left it.
👍
Great job…just subscribed
Thank you very much, I appreciate the comment 😊
Where about are you located
I'm a new subscriber
I'm guessing UK
You guess right 😃 Nottingham, England, to be precise. Shall I guess where you are? 🤔
I'm watching from Melbourne Australia
Spring starts September 1st here and I'm about to buy fertilizer to put on my stone fruit and citrus trees
We're still having cool n cold days n some rain
In the UK are you about to go into autumn?
@user-og4lj2sl4i Oh wow, I love Melbourne. It's been a long while since I've been through. Nottingham.
Yeah we're not far off autumn, though it's getting harder and harder to tell. I'll be picking leafs up just as yours are starting to really grow 🤣
Good luck with the fruit, I've just harvested loads of tomatoes for my dinner 😃

New subscriber !😮
Welcome! And thank you. 😊
Where can I buy the garden tools with the attachments?
Do you mean the hand tool with the changeable heads?
Was there a reason why you did the bit around the little statue the way you did
Do you mean when I cleaned it up and put the grass seed down? If so, it's because she changed her mind about wanting grass after I did it 🤣 she wanted the gravel section extending down further.
Although I think it turned out OK 👍 😊
Healthy garden with a frog in it
Yes, definitely. Although there almost wasn't 😔 glad I spotted him. There is a pond near here so it'll be happy 😊
Enquiring minds in the US want to know, please: What is that long-handled tool you use, with interchangeable stirrup-shaped scraper and rake?
Haha, yes indeed. They are pretty cool bits of kit. Links should be in the description.
But they are made by Wolf Garten, who are a German tool manufacturer. Awesome kit 👍
I hope that helps my American friend 😊
@@martinthegardenguyThank you for the info! I will see if Wolf Garten exports to the US.
I would have brought those hedges down about 24 inches
I thought you put down grass seeds, watered them, then covered them up with gravel?
Haha, yeah, I did. Well spotted 😂
She wanted grass seed going down, and then changed her mind after I already did it. Then told me she wanted gravel going down instead.
Did they tell you they didn't want grass after you poured all the grass seeds? 😂
Yeah 😆 🤣 there turned out to be enough gravel left so she went for more area instead of thicker gravel layer. Shame, it would have been a nice little lawn 😃 but it'll be less work long term for her.
I sent ages taking the stones out of the new lawn area as well 😆
It looks lovely and will be much easier for her to maintain, good job.👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
@debbieross5257 Thank you so much for the kind comment. She shouldn't struggle, I'll cut it for the rest of the growing season and then she'll be fit enough to sort herself 👍
What breed of frog is that
It's the Common Frog 🐸 although I'm no expert. 🙂
Plus I'm getting too old to be running up and down ladders with a long reach hedge cutter in my hands 😆 🤣
Nowadays it's a long reach with an extension attachment. If that won't reach I don't do it.
Which country: Australia or England?
Really sorry, must have missed this message. England my friend 👍😊
Ladder needed
Yep, I agree. I had unfortunately forgotten to put them in the van 🤣
So I had to improvise.
You always seem to forget things you need for a job which would make the job easier for you , maybe you could make a list and plan ahead it will save you time and effort in the long run
That's a strong chair 😅 haha brave of you to stand on it, I think you need a belt or braces
I do actually have braces 😅 I just don't wear them very often. Even though I should 😂
Everyone could pull weeds before they are growing, so high....don't need much to keep yard cleaner
Yeah, I think she'll manage just fine now 👍 😊 Especially with the gravel and weed suppressant keeping the weeds down.
Great job!
Much appreciated 🙏 ☺️
All the best
Martin
