      Don F the youngest millennials are 24 years old, they aren’t kids in school. They range in age from 39-24, you were speaking to a gen z kid. The millennial generation is 81-96, everyone born since is gen z, such as the kid in your example.

      here is a shocking story: In early 2022 I took a job with a Quebec company as a field technician. My area was supposed to be Ontario but because they failed to sell the business here, I ended up spending all except 2 weeks working in Drummondville QC living in crap hotels & eating even worse take out food. By mid November my employer had noticed I was not happy so when lay off time came along, I was the easy choice... YIPPEE! I was actually VERY happy to leave this terrible job, an even worse employer & in a place where the option to cook for myself (grotty hotel room) gave me zero options for decent food, I kid you not! Drummondville must have the WORST food I have ever encountered & I have travelled the entire world for my work for 25 years.

    I'm a teacher with a hectic schedule. Some days it's just utterly required to get food delivered so I can just eat and teach. Especially if I have only a few minutes between class. I also have a long commute to and fro so when I get home I just flop down in bed. It's an unfortunate truth if you work a lot that food delivery is a must or you don't have anything. I do keep some snacks and bread around for quick "meals", and do cook on the weekends. But weekdays? Forget-about-it.

    So stupid. The worn-out trope of portraying millenials as a bunch of entitled and spolied brats needs to die out. I am a millenial and I wake up every day to go to work. Plus we have more concerns than previous generations. We inherited a polluted planet, dire economic prospects growing inequalites and racial resentments. We are trying to learn to navigate in such deleterious conditions and make a positive impact around us. I am so ANGRY everytime I see nonsensical caricatures of us on TV.

      What I don't get is the meme about us liking avocado toast. I mean heaven forbid we prefer to eat something healthy as oppose to what boomers normalized for breakfast (bacon/ham/sausage/hashbrowns covered in salt and ketchup) Boomers are the reason the #1 killer in western society is heart disease so they've clealrly messed up in that regard.

    • @maestrojo
      @maestrojo 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@backtosleep The point he's trying to make is that we're not lazy. In fact we're working more than the previous two generations for far less. We are working the equivalent that a boomer worked as a means to take care of a family of 4 and a mortgage, but instead, all of that money is being use to keep a "shared" apartment over our head and only enough food to feed ourselves. I don't know a single millennial like the character in the video.....and even if it were 100% true that every single one of us acted like her, boomers are the ones that raised us to be that way. To be honest, most of us don't have much time to lay around or even have a life for that matter becasue we're at work all day trying to get every pinch of overtime imaginable or simply working two jobs. I also don't know a single one of us that eats out every day. If I recall there was a news story a few months ago saying it was millennials that are "ruining" restaurants because we're NOT eating at them anymore.
      and I know you're not going to read this, you're just going to tell me i'm "triggered" and that i'm a "soyboy" or some other nonsense boomer meme.

A more accurate portrayal of millennials is that life wore us down and now we're looking at gen Zer's the way Boomers used to look at us... full of contempt at their optimism and complain that they take everything for granted having never lived in a world with out Google or iphones, haha

Which makes no sense because Millennials were the last generation before the new Millennium happened that's how they got the name Millennials.
