Hej Marc :) I played my first game of backgammon at Cafè Nemo more than 30 years ago now. The game I learned was a little different and in a way more challenging, -with forced bearing off from behind and with a lit as we called it (meaning, only maximum 5 checkers on a point). I always played that way until recently when I started playing online on an app and I thought I was a good player, though I never succeeded getting above 48% in my winning rate until I came across your videos... and that's when I realized I've been a complete newbie for 30+ years 😳😅 and learning from you for the past 5 weeks already increased my winning rate to almost 51% (and still slowly rising)... I was very exited to watch a video where you and Mochy analyzes a match of two games, -90% of my decisions turned out to be identical to the computers choice 🤩

@@Dima19574 You mean in the Galaxy BG app? Heh… Honestly? I’ve actually only played one game. I think the app is brilliant for analysing and it’s really cool that you can go back and look at all the moves, but I find it challenging and slightly confusing that you can’t see the checkers move across the board and that’s the only reason I haven’t used it more after downloading it (on the phone). The app I use is called Backgammon Legends and it’s all money games. It’s really user friendly and have a lot of cool features. The only downside about that one are all the pop-ups to attempt to get people to spend real money to buy app money… Here I have been playing every day more or less since I downloaded it.
How does one get to this play screen with custom boards? is this online or the app? You said you are playing on "Backgammon Galaxy" but I don't see any of these screens there

As a newish player...this kind of video, playing on the galaxy app, the tip vids on the channel(24 points of christmas is what got me into the game), and the live tourney match play with commentary have all helped me improve a little. Just yesterday, I ordered the beginner to badass so I suspect I'll be competitive after reading and absorbing the info in that book. I suspect it may take a number of years. lol
The journey has begun... :) Keep analyzing your games in BG Galaxy app after you play, and take screenshots of your biggest blunders and review them regularly.

Download the app, start playing coin games or rating games. Analyze your games after you have played (Red icon is a blunder, yellow is an error, green is the correct move).
@@BackgammonGalaxy Yes, I jumped in and played a few games. I didn't understand the scoring - why when I won a game I didn't gain any points (and my opponent didn't lose any), though when I lost a game, I lost points.

Funny 😆I just noticed, in the first game when you started talking about doubling too late (after rolling the double 6 in the end) you then ended up doubling too soon, right? Because there would have been a really good chance you could have gotten Gammon if you had waited one more dice role 🤔

What do you mean with "attaching of protocols"?
@@BackgammonGalaxy file archives of matches or link where I can load them for extreme gammon. I mean your matches that you are playing during the stream. Michy for example in description of his videos gives link where I can load matches that he plays. Or I in my channel in description give link where everyone can load my matches.
Can you set the stakes for matches and coin games? If not, how does it get decided?
Hey David. The stakes are automatically set as 1/16th of the player with less coins' coin balance. In Rating games, the Stake is 30% of the coin balance of the player with less coins.
@@Marcolino10DK so the system is pushing us to play bigger and bigger stakes to lose quicker and buy coins. So how I understood the system picks a random opponent at a random stake what we cannot control.

Backgammon Galaxy handled the web site update horribly. What a mess. I have to find the walk-through video, watch it, set up ca new ID, request a rating conversion - by email! - then play (I hope). Just use the old ID & let me keep playing! Lord, what ineptitude! I’m out. Looking for a new site to play on. Nice knowin’ ya!
Доски очень простые, очень не хватает разнообразия досок не просто поменяны цвета. Также регистрация по электронному адресу тоже должна быть, не только гугл.

@@BackgammonGalaxy Тогда стиль оставляет желать лучшего, мне лично неудобно играть на подобных досках. Однако, нарды предоставляют обилие информации, такой анализ игры я не встречал нигде. Жаль, что оформление не получится более привлекательным. Я бы хотел видеть более эстетичные элементы, особенно фишки - монотонные разноцветные круги выглядят слишком просто и не элегантно. Но благодарю вас за этот сайт, несмотря на неидеальный внешний вид досок, сама игра честна и информативна.
How to unlock a legendary avatar?
Legendary avatars cannot be unlocked in the game. You can get it if you are a real live backgammon legend.
