A Full Metal Jacket is a bullet where the lead is encased, in a metal. Usually cupronickle, sometimes steel.
Meant to penetrate more armor than a regular round.
@@TheZavraq No, SOME FMJ bullets have penetrators meant to penetrate armor. Most are just bog standard bullets.
Full metal jacket stays in form longer than a hollow point so penetrates better any armor a person might have, but has less stopping power due to less expansion. Also quite a bit more clean wound.

You asked about "Full metal jacket (FMJ)". Well, you're going to get an answer from a Canadian, and we don't have the same level of firearm rights as you do in America. Normal cartridges have the lead bullet at the front, and when it impacts its target, the soft lead will spread out and "mushroom", and the kinetic energy will transform to damage energy and hopefully stop the bullet. For a FMJ cartridge, the entire cartridge (including the projectile) is encased in copper, and so when it makes impact, it does not "mushroom" and transfer its energy to damage, but it tends to go right through the first object.

Yup. That's what happens when you let women into the workforce. Suddenly HR gets created. 90% of HR employees are women. They basically invade a space, instantly whine demanding top spots for a fraction of the work and effort, create departments that fires every guy in their way for saying things they don't like because they can't advance higher up the ladder any other way and that all lead to the cancer we see today.

I didn't even notice the snake doing that, I did know snakes do that with their tongues, to sense the environment, but I was far more entertained by the reporter's face. Ahahah! Not like I'd reacted any differently in his position though... 😀

full metal jackets are a thin layer of copper over the led to help it feed better into weapons also helps it poke holes through stuff better. good for when someone has armor or is behind a wall, however it doesn't kill as well just puts small holes straight through good for wars because if they don't die as fast then they have to take people to move them to medical. jacketed hollow point is what you want if you don't want to put a hole in the person trying to kill you, your dog in the next room, your wall, your next door neighbor's wall, and your neighbor's cat. the hollow point lets it expand and transfer more energy into what you hit doing more damage and slowing down sometimes even stopping before making it out the back of the target.

FMJ or "full metal jacket" is a metal covering around a bullet a "jacket" if you will. I keeps the bullets shape on impact with softer items, it very heavily increases the penetration power of whatever bullet it's applied to. If you don't want the bullet to blow up on impact but rather go through the wall, the person, and another wall. you want a FMJ. lol
"hallow points" are made to explode or brake into shrapnel on impact to maximize damage on the first thing they hit, they'll make a big hole and shred something apart more than a normal bullet. And FMJ are made to do the opposite and stay intact and punch a singular deep hole though something.

@@earthwormandruw That video always gives me mixed feelings because he did stop an intruder....But's one thing to learn how to shoot and properly handle a gun at a young age, but idk how I feel about an 11yr old having access to a gun in the house. I mean for one, it's illegal. All it takes is for him to show it off to one of his friends and an accident happens. Happens all the time.
@@willvr4 or ... or all it takes is a responsible parent(s) to reinforce the respect and rules necessary for safe fire arms handling. 11 year olds come in all types of maturity levels, so give the ones raised well some more credit than that. If I was being overwhelmed by home intruders I hope my 11 year old would have the training, respect and resolve to use a gun to save my life and probably his own too. Guns aren't bad but people certainly are.

It's inevitable. I went to TV School, and we had to pretend to be newscast people. At any time, some mistake would be made, laugh followed, and then, something like "there's a shortage of cancer medicines" would be the news you had to announce.. and you were DYING triyng to keep a straight face. And losing every time.
